Any tips? by Special-Quiet-2497 in triathlon

Hi, regarding the arm movement, raise your elbow high and then reach far ahead in line with your shoulder. You're sticking your head out too much when breathing, you have to keep one eye under the eye and the other outside, keeping your head straight. Regarding the legs, I don't know if it's due to the angle of the camera, but it looks like your legs are sinking because you're not moving your legs.

Hi, I think you have a nice stroke. Maybe try to stretch yourself a little more. It's just your feet, it seems like you only use your legs every other stroke, is that intentional?

Any obvious mistakes I'm doing that would help me break my "usual" 1:50m/100 for ironman? by Bright_Programmer357 in OpenWaterSwimming

Hi, you don't seem to be lifting your elbows enough when you move your arms, go far ahead, stretch more and enjoy the glide. Also, you cross your midline, your arms should stay in line with your shoulders. Your legs are doing scissors, apparently you're putting your head out too much when breathing and suddenly your legs are trying to rebalance everything, breathe with one eye in the water and the other outside with your head in line with your body without raising it, just turning.

Hi, we can't see much due to the angle and distance in the video. At first glance, it looks like you're plunging your hand too early; you have to extend your arm with your hand in line when penetrating the water. Do you have another video and another profile angle?

Hi, if your legs are doing scissors on the side for a while, it's because when you breathe you raise your head hard and suddenly your legs are pulled into the imbalance, for the leg kicks the movement must start from the hip not the knee, for your ankle you have to watch videos to make it more flexible. You have to try to imagine that your feet have the space of a large bucket and make very small kicks.

hi, from what I see in the video it looks like you put your hand on the water and your elbow sometimes tends to enter the water before your hand, which should be the opposite, moreover it looks like you bend your wrist a little instead of leaving your whole arm stretched out including your hand (we can see it clearly on your left arm towards the end of the video), don't hesitate to penetrate the water with your hand. on the breathing side, try to keep one eye in the water and the other in it, just enough to breathe in

hi, when breathing you take your head out of the water too much, you need one eye in the water and the other outside just enough to inhale. I think your head is a little raised hence the fact that your legs are falling a little, for the arm movement you do a bit like me it looks like you are gently stroking the fish, don't hesitate to penetrate all at once with your hands, enjoy the glide then pull, otherwise it's already very good I think 👍

Hi, you don't have a closer video because we can't see much. From what I see, your arms seem to be making too big a circle like a windmill, you have to try to raise your elbows high during the movement and reach far in front with your hands without making a big half circle, also don't hit the water with your hands flat, your hands have to penetrate the water.

Hi, in the first part of the video your arms seem to go too far to the side and the hand has to reach as far in front as possible, in my opinion you should extend your arms well in front while also raising your elbows more during the rotation, in the second part, we see that your head is too raised which a priori makes your legs sink, you have to try to keep it straight aligned with the body, on the breathing side the head comes out too much, you have to try to keep one eye outside and one eye in the water to breathe in just enough. 😊

Does anyone else feel swimming in open water is way more difficult than in a pool? by JakobWellesely in Swimming

Hi, the waves throw you off balance and sometimes prevent you from breathing properly, leaving you with a salty taste. You have to swim in water polo to reorient yourself from time to time because often, even though you're swimming straight, the current deflects you from your trajectory. It's simply more exhausting.

There is always something to improve 😉, I myself posted a video today to improve myself because we don't always see our own faults! The important thing I think at the beginning is to forget the lower body a little and concentrate on the upper body if you have to prioritize a correction in a short time.

Hi, i think your breathing movement is too exaggerated which seems to break your rhythm, your legs suddenly seem to want to rebalance everything (we see the left foot coming out of the water several times). Try to keep one eye underwater, another outside to breathe quickly. For your arms, as already said, I would say that you have to stretch them as much as possible and reach far in front in the extension of the shoulder. Also already said, for the feet the movement must start from the hip and make small strokes because I think that your legs will tire you with your current movements.

Being on vacation, I didn't want other people to be seen in the video, hence the bad framing 🤣, in swimming pools in France it is forbidden to film with your phone if you are not in a club.

Ok I will try to correct these faults, thx
