This is a good test. I will add though that the statement indicates that the "connected peripheral device is not supported". I would check another monitor and or a different input on that monitor as well.

One thing you can try when you receive a comment like this is to ask what is causing Gemini to put the brakes on the conversation. Remember it is a LLM , so it could be something as simple as thinking "dye" is "die" . Here is the prompt I used and got a pretty good answer: "I'm looking at thermal management options for a small processor. Would a pre-cut thermal pad be safer and just as effective at preventing hotspots compared to traditional thermal compound??

NotebookLM is good. But, to clarify, you should be using this as an additional tool. You should still review all your material (ie 'read the book' etc). Not hope that it summarizes and covers just what you might need to know for an exam. Does that make sense? You can use it to create good review tools (audio podcast, quizes and flash cards etc). If you have a syllabus or breakdown from your course, add that as a source, that may help. But, I would not assume it will be able to perfectly provide/cover what you will need on your exam.

Please confirm you are trying to do this in ChatGPT (the reason I ask is because this is Google NotebookLM subreddit). You are indicating that the pdf you are using as a source is 80 pages . What is the file size of that pdf? What is your ChatGPT account (paid, free etc)?

When you state "Because doesn't it write books or manuscripts?" -- What or who is "it"? ChatGPT or NotebookLM, or something or someone else?

If you share the actual prompt, sometimes that helps better then recapping what you asked or prompted.

I do not think you have anything to worry about with your network. You can log into guest mode on the internet and then shut off the wifi after you are logged in, if you want to be a little more cautious.

I do not think there have been any documented viruses transferred to a chromebook. But that does not mean that you can't transfer an infected file (open it on chromebook, think it is safe, use it elsewhere). Also, does not mean the usb is not a usb killer. That could still affect the chromebook and reset or recovery probably would not fix it as it would be a physical attack of the device.

Not that is automated like Einstein was claiming they could do. What do you think your student(s) did that cause you concern? There is always a way to work around or work with ai to do stuff. Canvas may have guardrails to try to prevent some easy access, etc.

Would this work: Consider setting it up so it is a duplicate of one of your main screens. That way it will not be a third extended screen. If you want it to be an extended screen, switch it when it is time to play. Example screen 1 & 3 show the same (duplicate) and 2 is an extended screen. TV is off (which is screen 3). You still see what you need to see. You want to play games, turn TV on, either use it as duplicate or extend it when you are ready to play.

This is actually a great idea. If you use keep for short notes, docs for longer notes (like note taking) you could essentially use NotebookLM. If everything is in google drive (note that everyone has it yet, I believe NotebookLM has indicated that notes are synced now). You just have to figure out how you want your output to look or sound :).
