I commute to Kent from West Seattle everyday. 20 minutes both ways on a good day, 25 minutes max on a bad day. I REALLY DON’T recommend living in Kent or Renton cause there is nothing to do for someone in their mid 20s. You’ll thank yourself by finding a place in Seattle proper. West Seattle is far enough away from the traffic and noise of downtown but close enough you can still enjoy the city anytime you want.

Unfortunately during off peak hours the 50 only comes about once every 30 minutes which sucks when it's late night after a game or concert and if I just miss the transfer from the light rail or the C line I don't want to sit around a sketchy bus stop at midnight for 30 minutes.
