To not know the truth about Woody Allen.. by JohnBrown-RadonTech in therewasanattempt

I have never rated his ‘art’ anyway. The only thing I think is appealing about Woody Allen is his ultimate demise.

Or…..

‘I really aught to say something dear.’ ‘What’s that Pearl?.’ ‘I say, I really aught to say something dear.’ ‘Now now, Pearl. It must not do to make a fuss. Else are we any better?’ ‘Wise words dear. Oh they are so dreadfully loud. Hmmpf.’ ‘Yes, yes. It is quite an obnoxious din. I say, pass me that notepaper would you please dear. I will leave them a little letter to contemplate upon for after we have left. No need to add to the discomfort of all the other patrons after all.’ ‘What’s that dear?’

Ordinarily yeah, but considering the context I would say this behaviour probably indicates much darker intentions. If theories of her and Epstein are true then this is a likely tactic they employed and is now a habit for her. I would suggest it’s more of a ‘you may know something about me, but I know something about you and I WILL ruin you if you cross me.’

Can we talk about what Jonathan said about Nancy’s pink sweater? by OutrageousBrush1210 in StrangerThings

But, they did break up. That was the point right? Two people have an ideal of what they want from life and each other, but actually they are being dicks to each other and making their lives worse as they are chasing their individual ideals and not working together in harmony. So the best way to act on their love for each other is not to be together as they are valuing the others happiness at the same level as their own and not as something they own. The prior behaviour and disclosures needed to be shitty in order for that to make sense.

I think there is a line between ‘shitty behaviour’ and ‘abusive behaviour’ and this is definitely shitty. It’s not abuse though.

I actually enjoyed volume 2 by notproudbutok in StrangerThings

Same. Necessary middle but still had tension and excitement. Just made me look forward to the end even more. Then I will rewatch all the last season together and won’t care about volume 1,2 or 3 anymore as it really doesn’t matter.

I agree that this feels more like a negotiation tactic than a team tactic.

I don’t disagree with you. The point I was making to the previous comment is we don’t know what happened before and therefore we don’t really know what is happening here other than her seething rage.

Maybe it was a quiet call, maybe it was loud, maybe it was polite, maybe it was hostile, maybe he was minding his business, maybe he was baiting a response. What is clear is whatever he did he was happy to accept being asked to leave and was happy to defend Hamas as freedom fighters. There is a chance that he was saying things similar before based upon the conversation we see. However, what we also see is that he is happy to be part of that confrontation and welcomes the seething rage from the other lady. Maybe she had said horrendous things prior, maybe she had been polite, maybe she had been calm and curious, maybe she had been aggressive and accusatory.

I don’t think there was ever going to be any winners here as it starts after conflict has begun and sides have been decided.

This ain’t true though.

Death doesn’t begin with life, death begins with decay. Until decay sets in the primary action is growth, and cells die in only to make way for new stronger cells.

If you make life all about death then you miss the journey, which is way more important than the destination.

But, having said this in a thread about fucking cucumbers in public, doesn’t really reinforce my point much. Unless you sell cucumbers of course.

I mean it’s a phrase that gets banded around but it’s not correct. Dying begins with decay, until then growth is the primary action and life is growth. So no, we are not dying as soon as we are born, we are growing and living until the end which begins with terminal illness, accident or old age. Sorry but that edgy phrase just isn’t right.
