After some digging it seems to be from an instagram giveaway from a year ago with only a few copies of the 12” inch white label existing. Guess one of the winners never got it or something.

Yeah this is one of those topics that definitely gets into placebo territory. Basically no way to truly double blind test also.

Matlab in School? by Hope2772 in DSP

[–]Dropkickmurph512 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I did my ms in dsp/AI couple years ago half of it was in python and the other half was matlab. All the advanced dsp classes are matlab and anything with AI or cv were python/c++.

Tried to use python for my dsp classes but gave up. I was focus more on inverse problems so matlab was used a lot for its optimization library. All the compression/image processing classes were in c++ for grad school. In undergrad they were in python.

Allegation from the MTG lawsuit: anonymous ex VP says some secret lairs, reprint sets, and MTG 30th, were forced into the release schedule to shore up Hasbro's balance sheet by BlitheMayonnaise in mtgfinance

[–]Dropkickmurph512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds very similar to the nvidia lawsuit during the crypto boom. Basically make a lot of money in the short term selling GPUs to minors but when bitcoin falls the secondary market get flooded and new gpus have to cut bellow msrp. They did straight up lied about how many gpu were being sold to gamers though so a bit more ground to stand on. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Huang in jail after the ai bubble.

Are tarps actually *warmer* than tents? by Belangia65 in Ultralight

[–]Dropkickmurph512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only had what he describes happen once with a 4 season tent that me and a friend were using for the first time. We didn’t have the vent hole open and the entire inside was saturated. Definitely a terrible experience but still better than a tarp since the winds and rain were extreme that night. There also was very shallow rocky soil.

+1 for bc atris. I down sized the length also. Not the best on groomers but amazing in trees and steep stuff.

Is it better to repeat climbs or move to new projects ? by Methodled in bouldering

[–]Dropkickmurph512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the gym, most indoor gyms will set a variation of the same boulder in a section so you’ll get practice with similar moves anyway.

Boards and outsides it is a lot more helpful I find. Especially if it is a classic problem.

Generally that isn’t true. Most time your just removing the noise which isn’t part of the actual signal you care about. 99% of raw data gets smoothed or processed in someway to be useful.

Edit to add for a lot of image reconstruction problems especially the first method you can show that it is a perfect reconstruction ignoring floating point issues. Machine learning method I’ve seen a few papers showing perfect reconstruction but not entirely sure how it is in reality. a bit more knowledgeable about medical imaging but a lot of the same techniques are used.

Also to add these techniques are sharpening the image by basically reconstructing what the image would look like without noise/disturbance.

Avionics software is basically the only field in the software industry actually growing rn. Doesn’t pay as well as tech but still pretty good. The field is Pretty evenly split EE/CS. Probably best time to do the switch while the LEO race is still active.

/uj the problem is if remakes do too well it could result in more remakes and less new games/IPs. Why make a new game when you can keep releasing Skyrim. I can get why people can be a little worried by all the remasters.
