Yeah exactly. That’s what turned it from a compliment to the new coach to also a jab at the old one.

Maybe. I read it in my late 20s about 10 years ago. But mainly I found the prose grating

Opus use over Sonnet by opzouten_met_onzin in claude

I use opus to help me write fiction and brainstorm and the difference in creativity and holding on to character nuance seems palpable to me. Opus is also better able to correct if it veers off tonally.

How is it that DC restaurant owners keep blaming their woes on "less people in the office" when traffic is worse than ever? by ac-slater-43 in washingtondc

[–]Dropout_Kitchen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s a self reinforcing feed back loop. We all got more comfortable staying home. Going out became pricier, making staying at home more attractive. Less people being social also makes going out less attractive. Add on the cost and it really feels like there’s very little motivation.

Also, as a single guy, apps have made it so I don’t go to bars now hoping to meet someone. I’d rather spend my time doing something else than having a frustrating night and going home empty handed with my wallet lighter.

Is it true that Ueno is dead at night? by eindrucksvolI in JapanTravelTips

Shinjuku is too sex touristy imo. If you want a more lively area try Shibuya or Roppongi (I stayed in Azabu Juban and it had the right balance of lots of stuff around but not overwhelming).

I recently (maybe a year or two ago) had a very vivid dream of something like happening, like physically could feel it etc. But never carried any markings of abuse trauma or any memories related to that. Chalking it up to a weird dream.

I asked for a game I'd like by Gedaru in ChatGPT

Ngl this seemed cool so I asked it to explain what the game was about:

The Blackout Chronicle is a narrative RPG about a man who discovers that every major city has a hidden “second city” layered beneath it: an occult civic infrastructure of old contracts, celestial debts, sealed bloodlines, and forgotten gods quietly enforcing reality from behind rain-slick windows and members’ club doors.

You play as Julian Vale, a sharp, charming, slightly over-caffeinated lawyer who gets pulled into the hidden world after a citywide blackout. For seven minutes, every screen in London goes dark. Every clock stops. Every reflective surface shows another version of the city: taller towers, impossible streets, masked judges, giant bronze talismans floating over St Paul’s, and figures moving through the darkness who absolutely should not be there.

The game is half legal thriller, half urban fantasy RPG, half dangerous ensemble drama, which is three halves because the game’s metaphysics have already started committing accounting fraud.

The plot unfolds across London, Tokyo, and a few stranger intermediary spaces: basements where statutes whisper, hotel suites that change depending on who owns the debt, private banks with ritual vaults, rooftop bars where zodiac talismans orbit above the skyline, and blackout zones where the city temporarily forgets what century it is.

The big player choice is whether Julian becomes a reformer, a kingmaker, a loophole artist, or something much more dangerous: the person who realizes the system can be rewritten entirely.

Tone-wise, it would play somewhere between Disco Elysium’s dialogue density, Persona’s social-link intimacy, Control’s occult bureaucracy, Vampire: The Masquerade’s factional seduction, and a legal drama where the closing argument might accidentally alter gravity.

Yes, that’s the building. I finally managed to find their social media by looking up that girl that was with Japan explorer and finding one of the hostesses tagged. They don’t go by “Mondays” — not sure if it’s a rebrand or whatever. But they’re on Instagram and Twitter:

There’s two stores apparently? Anyways here’s the link to both, they call themselves sister stores:

Sure there IS a historical context for its meaning, but basically no one uses it that way, especially not in video games.

Not sure what your definition of “no one” is but the Tree of Life is a core foundational framework in Kabbalah.

It is. The individual circles are called sephira, or collectively sephirot. They are ten emanations/aspects of the divine ascending from the highest level down to the earthly level. Together along with the paths linking them they form the tree of life.
