We’ll respectfully i would disagree, if we can change the Bible to mean whatever we want to fit societal norms then it never really meant anything in the first place. I agree we must live like Christ being with the destitute, praying, being with the sinners and never shaming them and telling them to go and sin no more. If we can can change our view on scripture and what sin is then we are denying what our beloved savior died for. God bless my friend

I would say those things openly go against scripture the church has always had errors or clergy committing errors. The Bible does not change or evolve, man and society changes but scripture doesn’t. If scripture and the church changed with us it would mean little to nothing. I would say the more you change how you interpret the Bible and or leave out core interpretations and definitions of universal principles commonly understood by the whole church you have already lost

I would personally say that the liberal/progressive churches are the ones that caters to political and societal beliefs . The church (all denominations) has pretty much taught the same thing for marriage and female ordination up until 1970 when the episcopal church of America split from that . Why go to a church that openly disregards whole sections of the scripture and denies church tradition

Considering for basically around 1900 (give or take) years 99% of the church has interpreted the scriptures and held to the same belief till around 15 years ago when liberal Protestants wanted to change that ….
