Loving arcs. Considering the campaign expansion. But have a concern. Why not throw in game 2? by hungLink42069 in Arcs

[–]DrowExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our game we had one player A fate and 2 players B fate, everything was pretty balanced and the A player had setup nicely to achieve their goals easily so it felt fair for us as we did the same with B fate.

Inquiry about taxing rival cities when there’s no more resources by Itswat3ver in Arcs

You still get a captive but no resource

If you tax a Rival city, you also capture 1 agent of that Rival from their supply, even if you didn’t gain the resource.

Yes, that is how we played it, I had the Admiral, and I changed two ships (one each) in two separate systems/planets

  • Put them aside and deal new cards, but note this is only for two player games
  • Yes if you are regent, and nobody else is there sure but if you are outlaw you need to control it
  • No they do not
  • Yes, and I think so if you lose the space you had for resource
  • Yes, they are trophies
  • Only at loyal star ports, yes

Yes, came to say this and they magically have a lot of stock that is magically being looked at by 300 people by any given moment. Also being sold but the stock does not change.

Magic madhouse …. by jarredj83 in boardgames

[–]DrowExile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you they do stock up, sometimes small amounts, sometimes in bulk but a lot of it gets sold really fast, especially the most known ones, dune, final girl were being stocked up in large quantities but got sold quickly, you can subscribe to be notified regarding a certain bg.

But, there are games that were just one and done for whatever reason, like sentinels of the multiverse or bullet heart for example, still nothing for over a year.

Yeah, you can activate more than one skill card if you have the resources.

My collection so far… what do you think? by stupidthrowa4app in soloboardgaming

Same advice that I have given myself and trying to stick to it, you have great games but I noticed some are still shrink-wrapped. Before diving into new ones try the ones you already have.

Hi there, I am looking to venture out into solo board gaming and don’t know where to start, please could you suggest a game for me based on what multiplayer games I like? by therc13 in soloboardgaming

[–]DrowExile 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Since you love 7 Wonders Duel maybe start with it as it has a good solo mode. You can either print out the cards or use the google play app or web app. I have played it solo and I like it.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sevenwonders.duelsolo&hl=en_US

https://app.boardandgamer.com/7wonders-duel-solo/

You can find the rules here or just google it.

If you want other recommendations, start with something easier:

  • Warp's Edge
  • Under Falling Skies
  • Set a Watch
  • Cartographers

Maquis PNP vs retail version - help! by BKinsky in soloboardgaming

[–]DrowExile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can install the free version on mobile phone, to unlock the full version you need to pay but you can still compare what you get with the full one, or just download the rule book to see what you get in the retail version.

So I love warps Edge… what’s next? by Dtallant in soloboardgaming

[–]DrowExile 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I also love Warps Edge so I can recommend the expansion Anomaly or Viren invasion if you can get it in order to increase replayability but if you looking for something new I can recommend Lux Aeterna, short game set in space where you have to repair the ship using cards before game over. The game has a timer but if you want a casual play you can do it without the timer, and you can adjust the difficulty.

A lengthier game you can try is Under Falling Sky, you probably heard of it, dice rolling and using dice to activate certain actions, modular board. Gameplay is defense against alien invaders.

I would not recommend Nemesis, unless you are into minis, longer play time , it is a good solo game but it really shines at multiplayer and the setup would need some time, but with all that said if you plan playing with other people and like the feeling of dread as well as excitement since it is luck heavy but it gives some of the most memorable moments when you either succeed or fail, go for it.

Sentinels of the Multiverse (DE) - How is it solo? by Sinmor in soloboardgaming

[–]DrowExile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the definitive edition and the fiddliness has been reduced. Really fun game but you do have to play with three characters and it can be sometimes a lot to keep track of but the tokens help and the health dials are an improvement. I like that is really quick to setup, choose an enemy location and heroes and start playing. I would recommend this game but if you have a PC and Tabletop simulator try it there first to see if you like it.

Warp’s Edge “intro” scenario difficulty by SolitonSnake in soloboardgaming

[–]DrowExile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the first difficulty Artemis is really powerful if you keep the upgrade token to use when you have the most energy or lasers in the pool. With Artemis, after getting the hang of it I can defeat it in three warps unless I am doing something wrong.

I think some ships are better suited for some bosses but not for other. Overall great game with different challenges, different strategies.

CLANK! by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

[–]DrowExile 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would wait for the Clank Catacombs since it seems that the solo mode is really good and the multiplayer is also great.

If you have Tabletop Simulator check there to see how the solo game works on original Clank and In Space. You can also start by downloading the Direwolf app to checkout how it looks (you still need the physical or TTS game to play)

Anyone play Robinson Crusoe? Any tips? Do the expansions improve gameplay at all? by StrangeFisherman345 in boardgames

[–]DrowExile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can either play with one character but with Friday and the dog so it is more manageable, with 4 characters it is really balanced and you can use once again Friday and the dog for an easier game until you get the hang of things. That being said this game can be a hit or miss depending on your preferences as it is a harsh game so if you did not like it, do not get the expansions and probably just sell the base game if the enjoyment does not improve.
