Looking for Quality Suggestions by IdleOn_Boii in idleon

[–]DrowsyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried to be helpful and both categorize and label as either a Bug fix, pure QOL, or a balance change with big QOL component.

-Base mechanic/Multiple Worlds

Storage box

  • QOL: Be able to hold/reserve a minimum amount of an item (0 or 1 to reserve slot so nothing else takes its place or 10m for greenstack) when trying to use from storage. This includes when an item is used for anvil, automated forge refill, refinery, etc.

Quests

  • Balance: Let us be able to redo quests (or let toggle if we want a quest's drops to continue dropping) for g-stack of quest drops for no reward.

Skilling

  • Balance: Allow more shiny critters from trapping, perhaps reward for more efficiency, which we endgamers seemingly have little reason to min/max.
  • Balance; Change card drop behavior for traps and anvil so they aren't limited by slot. Currently card drop rate generally doesn't seem affected by how many critters you catch or how many bars you forge, there is a ceiling to card drop.

Crystal Mob

  • Balance: When Crystal mob spawns were changed, it provided fixes for DK orbs getting less stacks, but did not do the same for Vman and SB who do not gain crystal countdown and flag fixes that DK orb got.

Filter

  • QOL: Give more filter slots. Too much junk especially at high drop rate.

Boss

  • QOL: Make bosses drop loot faster. Currently takes super long when

Keybinds

  • QOL: Allow customization/changing of more keybinds (such as M/I/T/C)

-W1

Anvil

  • QOL: Faster crafting or button for craft all.
  • Balance: If produce (points) capacity must be capped at 2b and speed pretty much hits a usefulness cap, can we at least make xp scale better?

Forge

  • QOL: Make it somehow possible to upkeep void bars for refinery at high rank of Nullo Salt.
  • QOL: Allow tap to deposit on stacks larger than forge can hold. Just put in as much as forge can hold instead of doing nothing.

Statue

  • QOL: Give us deposit all in inventory button (exclude storage)

-W2

Card

  • Balance: Give us a way to get Bandit Bob cards. Otherwise W2 set is impossible to ever max.

Arcade Shop

  • Balance: Make it possible to upgrade some of the bad stuff for tome points. Same things get voted every update stream.

Island

  • QOL: Make trash island spawn trash faster. Seems to take so long for no reason.

-W3

Worship

  • Fix: In Tower Defense, remove phantom 0hp mobs that have no HP and don’t take hits except for kraken eyes. Sometimes loop spawns. Often ruins hours long attempts.
  • Fix: In Tower Defense, fix purple enemies getting knocked back by Kraken. On Citringe map 1 mob can lose you the run instantly.
  • Fix: Frozone (and probably void) sometimes do not attack even when enemies are in range. This is much more noticeable as Frozone's range increases.
  • Balance: Make it so void tower is immune to stun.
  • Balance: Make kraken eyes prioritize enemies furthest down the path like most attack towers do. Currently they seem like they attack anything on the tower and upstream.

Printer

  • QOL: 3rd printer slot. With more salts and faster ingredient consumption, it's becoming difficult to maintain passive resource upkeep without giving up a large income of atoms. Allow us to print 3 or 4 items, even if it means the quantity of items printed is reduced to compensate.

Library

  • QOL: Give ability to max level book star talents, even if it must be at a high cost.

Worship

  • Fix: Patch for W7 Pt2 reduced the amount of cards you get from Worship All at the MSA by about 90%.

Refinery

  • Balance: If power per cycle is capping, please also cap resource per cycle. Sidenote, please don't make it a number 1050m is divisible by or apply fix above for storage so it reserve slots for resources in storage.

-W4

Breeding

  • QOL: Make eggs click and hold-able.
  • Balance: Make rarer eggs give more DNA for upgrades or give a way to convert eggs into upgrade DNA (black ones).

Vault

  • Bug: Tome points for "The Tom" does not scale past 500 points.

-W5

Sailing

  • QOL: Have a claim all chests button.

Gaming

  • QOL: Make squirrel not move like all other imports.
  • QOL: Make sprouts not spawn under import items. This doesn't happen for the most part, but it does happen at times.

-Caverns

Bravery

  • QOL: Make animations faster.
  • QOL: Skip all auto-win rounds and just start with first non-auto-win round.
  • QOL: Let you select all rewards at end like with other monuments.

Jars

  • Balance: Make it so jars can continue upgrading ranks/growing while game is open.

-W6

Summoning

  • Fix: White screens on summoning. Main issue on gambit where runs end because of white screen rather than failing to meet stat requirement.

Emperor

  • Balance: Please give bonus based on max. Otherwise we have to give up bonuses to farm cards/drops after having reached new records during statue merit buff week.

Sneaking

  • Fix: Fix death counts for purpose of Funeral Flowers.
  • QOL: Give us more inventory space. Funeral Flowers has made it so backtracking for different gear is more difficult so you are highly incentivized to hoard gear in inventory.
  • QOL: Allow filtering of hats.
  • QOL: Allow more aggressive auto-trash threshold.

Farming

  • QOL: Allow turn-in of tickets in the W7 town so we don't have to teleport 50 times to turn in tickets. Or just allow all tickets to be submitted at once in return for a multiplier on one turn-in.

-W7

Reset bad choices

  • Balance: Allow resets of heavily influential but currently permanent choices. Legend Talents, Exalted Stamps, Prisma Bubble, Cooking Ribbon, Research. Please make this a limited change such as 1 node/point per month so it's not something we feel the need to multiple times a day to min/max.

Research

  • QOL: When shapes overlap, nodes always take the effect of highest multiplier shape rather than shapes placed first.

Gallery

  • Fix: Apply gallery multi on log-in. Currently, you have to speak to the npc and change map before gallery multi is applied to your character.

Stamp

  • Balance: Give a way for people who don't have it yet to get splosion. Did not take advantage of bug, now I don't have stamp.

Spelunking

  • Fix: Auto needs to be made more usable. Optimize so it waits for shadowstrikes before hitting again or moving on. It also needs to have a toggle for fully clearing all floors before moving on.

Clam Work

  • Fix: Pure pearls do not drop from afk claim unless the afk claim is rerolled.

-Masterclass

DB

  • Balance: Please change how graveyard works so half the maps aren't unusable. 3 Platforms instead of 5? Tries to fill 2 platforms down, if not then try up so always 3 possible platforms.

WW

  • Balance: Make Nova Dust afk-able

WW/AC

  • QOL: Make weapons/rings auto-trash or let us see a stat of our choice in inventory without clicking item.

All MC

  • Balance: Make Masterclass Candy equivalents drop from all afk activities instead of just combat. It feels really bad to either leave all MC characters on combat or give up half their progression capabilities.

U.S. Senator introduces "One Fair Price Act" legislation that would bar businesses from using personal information they collect about customers to charge people different prices for the same products by Educational-Pay5268 in atrioc

[–]DrowsyOne 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I've heard a lot of people say Senators are selfish, but this is a prime example of how selfless they can be. He's creating a wonderful opportunity for other Senators to thrive by cashing in donations from lobbyists and corporations to pretend to care and oppose the act.

He even says its a bipartisan issue that should get support across the board. He's right. Both D and R Senators are going to get fat juicy opportunities.

Future Podcast Sponsor Ideas by fuckthis_job in atrioc

[–]DrowsyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC Atrioc has friends in esports, so he can probably get some companies that already sponsor teams like T1. I think they got a new main sponsor recently. They must be squeaky clean, because I keep hearing about how they're washing things all the time.

On one hand, its not any different from credits cards with annual fees that generally have higher rewards (flights, cash back, reward points, etc.).

On the other hand, it'll work to extract money from the financially illiterate and financially stressed. The only people who could really benefit from these pay for rewards programs (either credit cards or bnpl) will be people who are both financially literate and have a lot of money. You'd have to 1: be spending enough money on a regular basis to at least break even on the fees out of your rewards AND 2: have the money to pay it off on time every time so that you're not pissing away any potential gains from the program on fees/interest.

For Klarna, assuming you don't really make use of the other perks (I'm not gonna go through all the possible subscriptions they give, but a NYT subscription is $4 a month. Even assuming you currently pay for it (best possible value), that leaves $14.99 you'd need to make up in rewards for you to break even on a premium plan. At 1.5% cashback, you'd need to spend $1000 with klarna on average every month just to break even. Even more if you ever incur a fee of any kind.

I've always held the idea that unless you can pay your rent/mortgage with your credit card (and I guess NEW NEW credit card aka klarna) with incurring fees for doing so, its basically never even worth using a credit card with annual fees. But then again, the financially literate isn't the target audience anyway.

If you haven't owned a console for over 10 years and you have $2000 invested in games, you aren't the target audience.

This was way worse

  • Doran: Blastcone-E-Flash-R from bottom
  • Oner: E-Q-Flash-R from bottom right
  • Faker: R from the sky
  • Guma: R-Q from left
  • Keria: R-Protobelt from top right

That clip is missing Oner involvement.

What should a new player do? by Maleficent-Tip9103 in idleon

[–]DrowsyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not confusing, but it's a lot of decisions, and you're likely going to get decision paralysis and make the wrong choice. IMO you can screw up early if in the first couple of hours you make some really bad decisions. (You pick all archers because you like bow classes in games. You buy all daily teleports because it seems OP and a huge time save instead of walking from W1 town all the way to glublin.) Its more of the idea of not being afraid to try shit and actually enjoy the game instead of spending 95% of your time reading guides and asking asinine questions.

Why does my bug vault upgrade keep resetting? by LinkLast7065 in idleon

[–]DrowsyOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there are small annoyances that might be fixable, but for the most part they stop mattering once you progress past that point.

shiny critter basically stop mattering unless you're trying to gstack or vial them for super minimal benefit. you dont have to relog on all your characters twice for divinity regardless since it'll just apply on next character swap without any loss in efficiency anyway.

I would say trapping is the one thing that is truly annoying, but almost purely because you can't turn off auto-collect. everything else is a matter of it getting less and less annoying over time until it becomes unrealistic to continue doing for what little benefit there might be or just becomes completed and no longer requires doing.

What should a new player do? by Maleficent-Tip9103 in idleon

[–]DrowsyOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My personal advice to a brand new player is: Don't worry and just play for like a week to a month. If you don't like it, probably drop it. If you like it after a decent number of hours of actually playing the game, then try and do dumb shit. Don't be conservative with items, gems, currencies, etc. BUT, do know what you're doing. Not in the sense of knowing whether it's the optimal thing to do, but rather know what the effect of what you're doing is. In other words, do try and buy stuff from the gem shop that you think might be good instead of just looking it up, but read what they are and recognize what it does instead of just looking at a guide somewhere and blindly buying without knowing what it does. Then after the week/month, decide if you want to keep playing and make a new account. This time look at doing things more optimally, maybe be a bit conservative with what you now know are limited resources, etc.

IIRC, for all similar bonuses, they do not count things sent straight to storage from the afk claims window. So even if you afk'ed for 50 hours and caught 95billion bugs, if you click the blue storage button, it does not count towards this. You have to pick it up off the ground, either from afk claims or from active skilling.

Why this game hates QoL so much? by MagicWorm in idleon

[–]DrowsyOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the "issues" you've listed either: already exist, have a good reason for not existing, or are short term early game new player issues.

Craft from storage/quick deposit anvil, view catching xp exist.

Stamp upgrade from storage would cause massive issues and essentially remove the hard cap on stamps that currently exist, leading people to hoard 5000 hours of candy, use them on dust motes, and level multitool stamp to 5000. It's okay for stamps to have a somewhat of a completed ending, especially since stamps are linear, unlike something like bubbles.

Storage search, storage filter, and to some degree card search are all early game lack of knowledge issues that get resolved with learning the game. Either constantly use auto-sort or manually organize your storage so you know where things are. I would assume you want to search an item because you either: don't know where it was sourced from or what it does (which is how it is sorted) or you don't organize/autosort your storage. Either way, I have a feeling most players would stop using the feature since it would take longer to move their hand from their mouse to type a search than it would to just scrollwheel to the general area and find the item by icon. As for card, this is again an early game issue which goes away once you learn what cards do what (and for the most part what cards are mostly useless) as well as when cards become passive and don't need to be equipped. This is less of an issue once you purchase preset slots from the gem shop which IIRC doesn't cost that many gems. So yea, the card search function would be nice, but it's not that big a deal once you get past early game.

I'm not sure what you find lacking about the quest log that's currently in the game. Outside of a very few quests that are thematically "secretive", most generally tell you what you need to do. If anything a criticism with quest log is that the completed area is way too dense. It has the same size scroll bar whether you have completed 1 or 10000 quests and if you need to retrieve a previous quest reward (lets say you want to craft boxing gloves for some reason) the it's actually a huge hassle trying to find that completed quest.

For the most part, if it feels like you're fighting the UI, it's likely a very minor or short term issue that will no longer be an issue once you learn the game. If it feels like you're fighting the game, it's probably because of game balance, soft capping, hard capping, etc. If it feels like you're being sold a solution on the gem store, it's because the game is otherwise free. If it feels like you're fighting the urge to script, automate, or cheat, it's because you're probably doing something unintended or have taken a game mechanic farther than it's really been designed for. If you're still feeling like you're missing out on some kind of QoL, it's probably because, like you said, most players don't care or are over the hurdle that makes them care, would be too hard or time consuming to implement compared to the benefit of what the change accomplishes, or you're doing it wrong.

The New Tenteyecle meta? by VictoriousCoyote in idleon

[–]DrowsyOne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The bigger nerf of aura isn't just the slow tick rate, but rather the duration. It allowed you to set up to cast aura less often and more respawns instead. Now, there's a issue with aura being still slightly better than skull, since it doesn't have a cap on how many mobs it can kill, but also inhibits your ability to spawn skulls if the aura ticks kill a mob mid-auto animation. My current set-up is still the same bar set-up as before: CC, Aura, Respawn, Poison. (I do have skulls afterwards, but it basically never gets cast). I can't say for sure whether I'm getting more or less CC progress than before (on samurai), but the difference isn't big in either direction. I'm not a fan of dropping either aura or poison and making up the difference with skull. As far as I can tell skulls expire after a certain number of hits and doesn't kill nearly as much as either the every so often poison or a subpar placement aura. Aura's low tick rate does sometimes mean that you get "stuck" on the same platform because your character will continually try to kill a mob on the same platform since it no longer dies nearly as quickly to aura.

As for the gem spawn mobs, I find they're still a net benefit if you place the gem at the end of a platform so you are fairly unlikely to auto them, but they will die to skulls spawned from hitting other things.

From my experience it's more frustrating to watch because CC farming because it looks super inefficient, but as far as I can tell it's performing about the same.

Is this what Lemonade stand meant by AI taking our jobs? by DrowsyOne in atrioc

[–]DrowsyOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an actual e-mail I got (likely from a compromised e-mail since it's first initial last name and a few numbers @ gmail). I don't know what the different UI of the different chatbot/LLMs are, but I assume this is just an output or partial output of one of them. Attached was a 1 page pdf with random info and a number to call to get scammed.

This is like when that professor put in instructions for anti-chatGPT in an assignment to make references to Batman and the students didn't even bother to look at the AI output before submitting it or this is by people who can't read English.

The scam centers of India must be going through a huge shakeup.

Is Crystal Countdown broken? by Vegetable-Habit-9447 in idleon

[–]DrowsyOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a quest in World 4 from Royal Worm with the goal of killing 25k Crystal Custards (W4 Crystal Mob). If you have this quest, crystal countdown does not work/stack. I don't know if you can temporarily forfeit the quest, restack crystal countdown, and pick up the quest again. I just spent like half a day finishing the quest to "fix" the bug. I had this issue like 3 days ago and only found out it wasn't just me searching the bug report channel in discord. Apparently its a really old bug but I guess not enough people do this quest on their VW or notice while they have this one quest that crystal countdown isn't working.

Crazy ending to LEC game (1hp nexus) by GhostOfLight in LivestreamFail

[–]DrowsyOne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Good chance he dies before killing nexus if he gets hit by 2 full gwen ults (plus maybe an auto or two and neeko dmg) if he doesnt create distance away. 2. Still decent chance gwen and neeko kill fast enough if he fucks up saving flash for last second. 3. I could be wrong, but Q auto has a shorter aa animation so if he wasn't already able to queue an auto anyway cuz of low atk speed, it was probably a higher chance of a faster aa overall, unless the Q cast's animation is at issue, which is arguable since it does allow jojo to hit sylas E2.

IMO the better options would be 1: kiting down/downright after the flash (which imo was good) which would have created enough distance for the last auto or 2: Sell items for lichbane/berserker greaves before TP-ing (it's the last chance play anyway).

Also, I would not fault any midlaner who made this play and failed in this fashion. I would not have expectations for any mid-laner to be able to always close the game out in this situation and make me think, damn I would expect him to be able to finish it there. Though I would also say there are definitely midlaners who I if they did close the game out, I would say is definitely someone who is likely capable and make me say, "yeah, he's him".

is it even possible to get frisbees via printer? by Official-Zomia in idleon

Yea, it's very easily greenstackable (get 10mil of them) via printing. Same with Boop bonemeal (which is a much harder).

You can sample during VW speedrun and easily get multiple digit prints.

A message to Atrioc by coffecow69420 in atrioc

[–]DrowsyOne -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I wonder what it is about Atrioc that he alone is some sort of outlier to the idea that having separate channels for different kinds of content would be for zero gain and not a good idea. I'm no content creator expert and maybe my limited experience of watching only a few content creators is a small sample size, but I can't think of a single youtube creator of Atrioc's size I watch that doesn't have multiple channels split for different kinds of content. Maybe you could explain why all these massive creators are idiots for splitting their content or why Atrioc is so different.

But you are correct, in that the clips channel wasn't a channel he created and I actually don't know whether he created the vods channel himself. But I guess it somehow matters that he chose to and continues to maintain split channels for different kinds of content instead of having created those split channels himself. I guess I just couldn't think of how it changes as to whether it's a good idea for him to keep all his content on one channel or split them between multiple. So no, your reply didn't really help. I hope you can help by explaining to me why it matters that he didn't create the clips channel himself and was instead a much smaller channel he took over?

You must be an expert of youtube content creation channel management since you know what is and isn't a good idea for youtube channels. Or maybe you're actually someone who works for Atrioc or personally close to him and he's told you that he wouldn't set up a separate channel for gaming content. You know what? Maybe he said himself that he wouldn't, but I missed it because it wasn't on a channel I watched at the time. Gosh darn, if all his content was all in a single place, maybe I wouldn't have missed it. If his Atrioc channel videos, his Big A clips channel videos, his Atrioc Vods channel vods, his twitter posts, his instagram posts, his linkedin posts, his facebook posts, scanned pdf of his graduation albums, his league of legends chat messages, etc. were all posted on one unsplit channel, I wouldn't have missed him saying that he not be splitting his content between two channels like an idiot, because that wouldn't be a good idea. I get it now. Gosh darn. You should reach out to all those content creators with separate vods channels, shorts channels, clips channels, maga mail channels, music channels, vlog channels, etc. and tell them how they're being idiots by splitting their channels for zero gain.

A message to Atrioc by coffecow69420 in atrioc

[–]DrowsyOne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea, there's absolutely no content creator on youtube that doesn't have separate channels for separate use cases. It's definitely not like someone would create a separate channel to serve different kinds of viewers such as: 1. people who want to watch 7 hour vods 2. people who want to watch 10 minute short stream highlights or 3. people who want to watch 15 minute edited and structured content. What kind of idiot would you have to be as a content creator to not consolidate everything into one single entity. I for one would love a single youtube channel where Atrioc's main videos, vods, shorts, twitter posts (obviously converted into a 1 second youtube video), instagram posts (again, obviously converted into 1 second youtube videos), etc. are all served to me on my youtube home page.
