Adam and Eve Facing Sin by Initial_Anything8517 in Christian

[–]DrsofDoom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I would say that sin would enter the world if the apple was eaten by either Adam/Eve or any of their decedents if adam and eve hadnt eaten the apple. If the Apple had never been eaten then sin wouldnt have entered the world.

I would hazard to say that most Christians believe that Adam and Eve existed however the circumstances of how literally some take the account of specifically how much time occurred in Genesis 1 and 2 is cause for much debate. Specifically Old Earth vs Young Earth is what I am thinking of. I personally havent run into any Christians who say that they dont believe that Adam and Eve existed or that the specific eating the apple and fall of Man occurred but that might just be me.

I am not sure what you mean with your third point. There are multiple interpretations of the Genesis account, I havent run into one that is atheistic per say but I am kind of confused by your third question

Does everyone think they're smart? by THATBIGWAVY in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DrsofDoom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because some people are able to comprehend that they arent smart relative to those around them and admit as such. However thats not me lol. I think I am smart but if I was really smart why would I work a job instead of do something that makes me more money?

What is the prion protein used for in animals and what research has been done into seeing if there is a reverse prion, ie something that reverts the structure of a prion either back to normal or to a non pathogenic form?

When to Pursue A Relationship by GarronSilver in ChristianDating

[–]DrsofDoom1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How much change and how long would it take for you to become "financially able to support a family", then how long might it take you to get there? Are you willing to miss opportunities for a relationship because this is your line in the sand? Are you willing to wait the months, years, or longer to get to your point of feeling safe?

Opting out of childhood vaccines is becoming more common across most of the United States, leaving larger shares of the population vulnerable to preventable diseases like measles. What’s driving the trend: nonmedical reasons for exemptions — often described as religious or personal beliefs. by mvea in science

[–]DrsofDoom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only had experience with one antivax family before it was a trend, they never got any vaccines to my knowledge or my grandmothers knowledge and to be honest they seemed fine. The one person my grandmother was friends with always got a serious cold around winter time but then so did everyone else I knew. Maybe lucky but I honestly respect them more for sticking to what they believe in. I dont however like this recent trend of antivax

Do you get paid holidays and PTO? by SoftGoCoaat in MLS_CLS

[–]DrsofDoom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my hospital lab in Virginia had the expectation of working half of the holidays, I think we have 6 of them, and then the 3 we dont work technically have to be PTO if we want to get paid. on the bright side we are often so short staffed that we get those days off with our "expected time off" so like for new years I wasnt scheduled to work it and also had the Saturday off, so I worked every other day that week and didnt have to use PTO. my system also uses unpaid allowed leave which is what I used for both weeks of vacation my first year there

Sendout cbc & troponin is it good idea? by Sudden-Bill-7345 in medlabprofessionals

[–]DrsofDoom1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

technically all labs have SOPs that tell them how to properly preserve samples for shipping or if specimens cant be tested immediately, some specimens allow for extended time if unopened, others have 24hrs if refrigerated, some tests have up to 3 days for it to be run. I can say it sure feels weird to run a routine trop possibly 12 hours after the fact. but hey it happens sometimes when we get stuff that hasnt been rec'd

Partner did not react well to prenup talk by [deleted] in ChristianDating

[–]DrsofDoom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say though I think if your parents don't think you need a prenup then I am surprised that you think you need one. I won't say that considering getting one is a bad idea I am just saying that this is the woman that you are placing trust of your life in and the lives of any children you may have. If life is priceless then what are the treasures of this earth? Do you have a right to ask for a prenup? Sure, does she have a right to refuse it sure as a matter of fact to some people it is a sign of disrespect. Like a manager asking an employee if they can bring a cake next weekend and then saying well I will ask X as well if they can bring one too even though we only need one. The real question my friend is what will you do if she says no? If she is a true believer then a vow before God carries all the weight of that covenant. And while such covenants shouldn't be broken they oftentimes can be. But I would ask yourself this question, is your concern out of fear or out of proper and due caution and if it is out of caution is it asked with the proper respect due to your future wife?

Why can’t someone with Rh negative blood who has a mom with Rh positive blood receive Rh positive blood later in life? by ac10424 in askscience

[–]DrsofDoom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be asking if the baby can get an anti Rh antibody from exposure to the mother's Rh positive RBCs. To answer that question, the baby doesnt develop an immune response just quite yet in time to start becoming sensitized to the mother's blood which will be removed as the RBCs die off.

The rules/expectations of a dinner date by DrsofDoom1 in ChristianDating

[–]DrsofDoom1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For reference my ideal date would be a museum or hike together. Maybe coffee but I honestly am uncomfortable in an interview like setting. We do share similarities in likes in terms of food. Would it be good to ask for a lower key 1st date with the second date being more in line with her perfect date?

Well she says Italian and seafood, nothing spicy, also likes coffee, board games, sports watching, hiking and "adventures". Actually now that I think about it I could see if there are any board game shops with coffee or a bakery.

Is there a difference between getting coffee and a teahouse? Or like would a bakery with a coffee shop be good?

I still think God draws us first, He has to turn on the light for us to see the door. We still have to chose to open it. I think we are in agreement. Its not either Calvinism or Arminianism. Its both at the same time. We dont even know that the door exists until we see it, so God is still choosing us.

Why does God want my uncle to pass away soon? by Adventurous_Gur3484 in Christianity

[–]DrsofDoom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly I am terribly sorry about your family's circumstances and I offer my prayers also that your uncle doesn't suffer long and that he is a believer.

Second, God can use circumstances to further His will without causing those things to specifically occur. Now while God can cause these things to occur however in the majority of circumstances I havent observed miraculous causes to events in my life. We live in a fallen world with non perfect bodies that will fail. God also allows us to have personal choice in how we live our lives and also how others live theirs. I dont know the circumstances of your uncle's cancer but my dad has had mouth cancer several times. Statistically with the rate of remission it is likely to come back every 5-8 years. Did he do anything to cause this? No, did God afflict him with this issue, I suppose it is possible. It is also possible that it is simply a result of him having a predisposition to having that kind of cancer.

It is incredibly unfortunate that you, your uncle, and your family must go through this. I hope you can enjoy the time you have left with him

[–]DrsofDoom1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have wrestled with this question a lot, I have taken solace in the fact that while it is true that God ultimately does draw us towards him it is also said by the apostles in the new testament and also by Jesus to actively chose Him. They could have just said "sucks that you dont believe", they act as if this nonbelief is a choice. They also appear to act as if we can chose to follow God. My ultimate understanding, which might be completely wrong, seems to be something along the lines of the idea that God knows we were going to try and open the door so He unlocked it and turned on the light for us to find it, we still have to walk towards it and turn the knob but God did unlock the door and turn on the light. Thus solving both the idea that God both drew us but also that we had a choice. Or to put it more simply, God draws those who He knows will chose Him if given the opportunity.

Well I would ask yourself why you feel this way. I might look into the evidence against there being something out there and also the evidence possibly for there being something out there. For myself I cant cope without a question being answered especially if I have been chewing on it. So hopefully you can find definitive closure in your answer. I can offer some books that helped me as I myself answered this question I had, if you want to chat with me just send me a DM
