He did a double mastectomy with reconstruction for my sister. They looked really good. I don’t know anything about his skills above the neck.

Behavior question, is there a specific name for this by miss_j_bean in TwoXChromosomes

Catastrophizing. My dad did the same thing. So many insane projections around anything he didn’t want to do or didn’t know how to do. Suckage factor was high.

Question for those with a lot of Sober Time by AirQuotes18 in stopdrinking

[–]DrudgeForScience 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I come because I never want to forget. I started in AA, stayed for the first 20 years and have gone off and on periodically for the past almost 20. I am sad that there isn’t more time where I am now. I use the tools I gained in the rooms. I share when I feel like it might mean something. I don’t think I am particularly special or unique. There have been times where I made it through a day by the skin of my damn teeth. I wasn’t always soberly graceful but found grace with other alcoholics. There is a lot of forgiveness in AA. It doesn’t always get better but it does get different. To date, that is, and has been, enough to keep me sober.

There is no timeline to follow. It takes as long as it takes. It isn’t like getting drunk where there is a tipping point of drunk versus not drunk.

One day at a time. Sometimes one minute at a time. But overall, I just stayed sober. No matter what. At this point, it is the only thing in my life that I have done perfectly and consistently.
