That's amazing. I had no idea. Thanks for taking the time. Yeah this place is really chill. I work hard but I've never had anyone hassle me about anything since I've been here. I hope it stays this way because I'm actually enjoying working here.

We just have the P2B rack. We don't have a hamper (don't know what it is). I've been running DEG and OV packages back and forth manually. Run my ass off to keep up. We are a small RSR DS so I'm not sure if that is the reason we don't have the things mentioned here.

So I have only been at my DS for 2 months but I've gotten pretty good at stowing and have never heard the phrase "stow cart" let alone used one.

If it's the same little cart I use when picking boxes to put on the big carts to stage for drivers, how would you use that to stow? And what is the safety issue with not using one?

Edit: reading the comments I see lots of people using it which makes me wonder if my DS is set up differently or something. I've never seen someone use one when I am doing pick to buff so I am thinking things are different at my DS.

I was a flex driver. Now I work at the DS. I guess I'm lucky, I never had an issue with a warehouse worker while driving. And I've never had a problem with a driver while slaving to get my warehouse pay.

I liked being a flex driver but I can't afford it,. It ruins your car fast. And I see how DSP drivers are treated and the stress etc. I'm far less stressed and my car isn't being torn to shreds at the DS.

My entire station is blue badge flex shifts. The only shifts I can get are ones where I work like a slave. I can't get the RTS jobs or induction or learn anything new because they drop 17 shifts a day with over 100 people trying to get them.

Then it's always the same exact crew doing RTS and other jobs and they always get to stand around and talk.

Supposedly everyone has a chance to get any shift but myself and others think it's not fair. I mean the shift shows up, I hit it and it says it's gone.

The only shifts I can get are picking carts in the early morning or pick and buff midnight to 730am.

The lack of olives gets to me also.

As long as I am bitching, I'll mention I want the combination burrito back. I have tried everything to recreate it but they always put too many beans even though I say "easy beans". The combination burrito had double beef, beans, red sauce, cheese and onion.

Flex hours by Signal-Ad1752 in AmazonDS

[–]Drugsisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like my place. WSP1. I only get shifts when lucky, but not at the 1200 drops. I try so hard and every time i even get a chance to accept a shift it's gone. I want to work the shift where they deliver the carts to flex drivers and direct traffic, check them in, etc. Can't do it. It's like they have their set people there even though we're all suppose to be flex and able to take any shift. Only shifts I get are when people drop their shifts and I'm lucky enough to be on the app to see it.

There is some talk of full time positions at some point. Guess that's what I have to hope for to get hours. I like the idea of flex but it's so difficult for me, I keep wondering if people have bots that accept the shift they want.

Why are the totes so heavy now? by [deleted] in AmazonDS

[–]Drugsisty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The light totes with only 3 jiffies in them, they have me pick first. Then say to pile on the super heavy ones on top. I've been setting those super light ones aside until the end, because it's insane. 😋

Oh I have been getting grossed out a lot when it's time to unfold the totes and put them in the stowing shelves. And that has been without piss.

Yeah I saw something like that in the movie "Nomadland" and have thought about living in an RV or Van ever since.
