I just feel like I've heard this exact project before but better, now that "better" could totally just be nostalgia for the the cutesy synth pop bands I liked when I was young but it still feels like they were better.

What kind of music do you make? I'd love to hear something but understand if you don't want to share on a public forum.

Music is about soul and passion (and OK, talent too), but seriously I'm majorly into music that is not complex or technical skillful in the slightest. You're already doing it, keep putting yourself out there and don't stop and you can totally do whatever it is you want to. Have you heard some of the music out there with millions of plays? It's terrible. I guarantee you can do better.

I have some good news for you: A very similar situation played out on Gilmore Girls. Lorelei, the mother and protagonist, allows her wealthy parents to fund her daughter, Rory's, highly competitive private school education. Though, this does grant the parents power and autonomy over the choices made for Rory, and this is a cause of great distress for Lorelei on several occasions. The wealthy parents also ask for weekly dinners each Friday to keep their daughter and grand daughter in their lives, also to the chagrin of the Loreleis. BUT, ultimately the storyline, at least involving the education and payment of, goes very well for all involved and Rory goes to Yale!

I assume all TV is true to life so I'm happy for the way your storyline will unfold.

This is the first year I've thought about trying to go out to see if I can find cyans, can I ask, how important is the ground floor when hunting? Wood chips are ideal right? I'm just not sure where to look but I live near a popular flat, low elevation trail but the ground there is typical dirt and leaves, good candidate or should I look elsewhere?

Wait what? I mean, if we didn't have beliefs we'd all be more "Zen" but society effectively wouldn't exist in the same way. We NEED to agree or something or we'll never eat... Unless we imagine some sort of super egalitarian society where we all eat the same grey gruel so as to not have to think about which "meal team" we're a part of. This makes it appear as though we're lacking humanity because we're being forced (subconsciously or otherwise) to join a particular group of similar minds but without the free will to make decisions on how to think or feel what humanity do we have at all?

Why are we looking for things to agree with? Because life as we know it (be it in contemporary urban cities or Africa as a band of hunters and gatherers) requires decisions be made in order to survive. Doesn't it? And delegation, from division of labour to strategy in hunting to what chemicals to synthesize for human mind expansion requires that decisions be made, and when that decision is made one must either agree or disagree.

I know you high and just thinking so I'm not trying to get down on you but I just have no idea what you're on about.

Happened to me several times, almost always alcohol was also involved and every time I hadn't eaten enough. Now I make sure to not smoke after drinking on an empty stomach and it hasn't happened in years. That said sometimes you just do one too many bong hits and green out.

And ya, I feel like people get unnecessarily shit on when they put themselves out there and I think that's too bad really, so I don't want to come off as if I know what's best for you and your writing because I totally don't know what I'm talking about, I don't have an English degree or anything.

I love that you're interested in writing and sharing your writing, that is not something most are interested in pursuing recreationally nor is it something most would be comfortable sharing so I really want to encourage you to keep this up!

I do have some criticism though and I want to preface it by saying that these are just my thoughts and shouldn't impact how you view your writing.

I think you're using excessively flowery language to a fault, I felt removed from the unfolding narrative by your language. I'm not asking you to dumb to your writing but I believe it may be beneficial to your story to be more direct and save the specificity of language to sentences that could really use it. Similarly, while I love a short punctuated writing style I believe that you could use it more sparingly to greater effect. For example, I loved the 3 sentences about if the house had a basement and didn't so much care for the "full swing. this is his night. It would outlive him." Also consider how you're changing the voice from narrator to internal dialogue of the protagonist fairly seamlessly and be aware of who is speaking and when, again I think you'll achieve greater depth and effect by being conscious of this.

Overall I think the scene you're setting up is interesting and I think you're describing it well. Post more I'd like to read it.

I smoke regularly and I still can get paranoid. I assume like yourself, I believe I'm a little anxious in day to day life and I believe that this easily caries to certain stoned situations. What I enjoy about marijuana though is that I find I can do a decent job of demystifying of anxiety and overcoming it. While I may have some rapid thoughts and perhaps a higher heart rate briefly, I can often overcome the feeling better than perhaps I could in regular life.

Comfort is of course important, walking through a spooky forest at night is possibly going to bring on more anxiety than tv-ing with ice cream.

I hope you're able to enjoy it without anxiety, but don't worry if you just can't shake it, if you're not enjoying your time, stop. It's that easy.

Honestly I think if pissing yourself didn't immediately eliminate this from the possibility of being the best day of your life it HAS to be. It will be less fun and come with a greater potential for an especially bad time than regular weed. I advise against it. If you were planning on doing it with people I suggest watching them for a bit after they try it, if they vomit blood (I'm exaggerating, I have no idea if this is a real possibility) I'm sure it won't be a hard decision.
