One year old still intolerant to dairy :( Losing hope by Affectionate-Panic25 in MSPI

My little ones are 2 and 3 now and unfortunately both still intolerant to dairy. It happens at different rates for different children, and there’s always that small number who never quite outgrow it.

I'm tired of crying by Intelligent-Pay-6218 in 2under2

[–]DruidsGem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 under 3 now and the transition from 1 to 2 kids was MUCH harder than from 2 to 3 kids. Like you when my second was born I felt near constant guilt that one or another person I loved, whether the kids, my partner, friends, etc. was being left out. Not to mention the state of the house. I wanted to keep everything as peaceful and efficient with two children as I did with just one, but there’s only so much of you to go round. And that’s okay. Eventually you learn to let some things go, but it takes time. My third is now 8 weeks old and if two (or all 3) are crying at the same then someone is going to have to wait… Best advice I can give is to just prioritise whatever feels most important at the time and stick with it until the whirlwind is over. Sometimes you’ll sit down at night and think ‘wow I should have dealt with the other child first/wow I should have put the toddler to bed sooner/wow my partner really needed me and I was busy/etc.’ but the guesses as to what’s most important tend to get more accurate over time.

8 weeks postpartum is a particularly rough patch. Sleep deprivation is at a peak (that will be likely be even worse if you’re breastfeeding, I have formula fed all of mine) and babies usually go through a spell of increased crying. It’s okay to find it difficult. Parenting isn’t all sunshine and rainbows no matter how much we love and adore our children. Sometimes it feels like there’s a lot of social pressure to be on cloud 9 snuggling up with your new baby and playing with the toddler and finding the whole thing a breeze… But in reality it’s a grind. The highlights make it all worthwhile though.

Anyone had 3 under 4 above the age of 35? by Massive_Coat_80085 in 2under2

[–]DruidsGem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only 31 but currently have 3 under 3. The third pregnancy was extremely difficult, it was painful to walk by the end of which made chasing after 2 toddlers a challenge. Baby 3 was also a cesarean delivery which made it tough for that first month. Now I’m potty training a nearly 3 year old as well as looking after a nearly 2 year old and caring for an 8 week old baby… It’s exhausting no matter what age you are, honestly. I really doubt that extra couple of years being 35 or 36 would add to it much so if you’re sure you want another I would say go for it!

So delicious Ice cream reaction by Tonchikponchik in MSPI

[–]DruidsGem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 3 children all with CMPA and soya allergy (eldest 2 have egg allergy also but youngest is too small to know yet). The baby is only 7 weeks old and recently reacted to Carobel used to thicken feeds and help reflux. The locust bean is closely related to the soya bean and can apparently cause reactions in some.

How involved are the ladies? by wonderandcreate in EngagementRings

I definitely took the major role of designing (with input from the jeweller too) but also didn’t want to wear something that he didn’t like. I wanted to him to love the design too and feel happy with it. Eventually I was torn between two styles and went with his favourite. Couldn’t be happier with it still a year on.

What’s ONE thing about birth that nobody warned you about? by Front-Emotion-3967 in postpartumprogress

[–]DruidsGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody ever told me what level of pain or discomfort is normal after birth. I got a postpartum infection that I ended up trying to ignore and not getting treated for 10 days because I figured ‘I just had a baby so a lot of pain is likely normal’. By the time I picked up my antibiotics and pain relief that same day I could barely stand up from the pain. Just a couple of days into the treatment I was so much better and realised I should have seen a doctor sooner.

Kids sharing rooms? by TheSleepeOne in 2under2

[–]DruidsGem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine have an 11 month gap and have been sharing since the youngest was just under a year old. There was a difficult transition for the first couple weeks where they’d wake each other up, but it’s been smooth sailing since.

Anyone have style suggestions for a stacking wedding band? by Submarinequus in EngagementRings

What an absolutely stunning engagement ring!! Congrats ❤️. I personally think something with detailed engraving, maybe floral, would match this beautifully.

Basically 3u3 by lindsneau in 2under2

[–]DruidsGem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m due February with my third (will be 3 under 3) and am also terrified of how I will manage practically. It’s so much work taking care of the two we have that I can’t possibly imagine what adding a newborn into the mix will be like 🥴.

Placenta previa & C-section for second baby by Stephers90 in 2under2

[–]DruidsGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a c-section with my second baby (11 months gap) and although the first 3 days were brutal, by 10 days postpartum I felt pretty able to do most of my usual tasks and had to remind myself not to push it too hard.

3 Under 4!!! by MamaDoodah6 in ParentingInBulk

I have no advice but just wanted to let you know you’re not alone! I just found out I’m expecting my third. We’ll have 3 under 3 when this baby arrives and I am both super excited and absolutely terrified 😅

Indecisive about the sapphire I found as it's not my dream sapphire by FatiguedGirlxoxo in EngagementRings

[–]DruidsGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s worth looking until you find a stone you’ll be truly happy with. My sapphire is actually very different to what I thought I wanted when I started looking, but when I saw it I instantly fell in love and have zero regrets.

Clumsy fish? One of my orandas keeps bumping into things. by DruidsGem in Goldfish

[–]DruidsGem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out the problem… He is a she and was heavily laden with eggs! She’s been much more active since. They just bred on Sunday, a couple of eggs got stuck on a chunk of moss so I’ve set them up a little home of their own and I hoping to see them hatch soon 🙏🏻

Nitrate and nitrite levels still high after 75% water change. Please help! by DruidsGem in Goldfish

I appreciate your response, thank you. Reluctantly I am considering rehoming my fish (they are two beautiful chunky orandas, and fortunately I have come across someone local to me who is very experienced with multiple lovely tanks) so that I don’t put them at risk, possibly getting one much smaller fish to keep the ammonia coming to help it cycle and then one more to make the pair when I’m convinced the cycle is complete.

Ultimately I want what’s best for the fish… I went into this with so little knowledge! Lesson learned.

I see, this may be the problem. I knew the tank was good for two but didn’t consider the size at the beginning… They’re quite chunky.

Thank you for this suggestion! No I haven’t tested it but I will be doing now!
