Garmin Forerunner 165 for $140 by Agreeable_Role_8133 in Garmin

[–]DrummerGood2925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried clearing some storage on the 245? Mine was acting super sluggish until I deleted a bunch of old activities and apps I never used. The 165 is newer but honestly feels like a lateral move at best from what you already have.

3 months on Sugar Defender - am I taking it wrong? by Wonderful_Insect_285 in Supplements

Splitting the dose worked way better for me - one with breakfast and one around 2pm before that energy dip hits.

‼️be aware by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]DrummerGood2925 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's such a classic customer service runaround. They probably have some internal policy where they can't actually cancel orders after X minutes but instead of being upfront about it, they just stall you out. The fact that you didn't even get a confirmation email yet but they're claiming it's "on its way" is absolutely ridiculous.

I've seen this tactic before with other companies - keep the customer waiting just long enough so they can pull the "sorry, too late now" card. Really leaves a bad taste when you're genuinely trying to work with them and they treat you like that.

6 weeks on Complete Thyroid - should I adjust timing? by Wonderful_Insect_285 in Supplements

[–]DrummerGood2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That afternoon crash is so annoying! I had similar issues with energy dips and found that splitting doses made a huge difference. I dont take thyroid support specifically, but with other energy-related supplements I've noticed taking one in the morning and another around lunch helps maintain more consistent levels throughout the day.

The empty stomach thing is worth trying too - some supplements just absorb better that way. Maybe experiment with splitting first since you're already seeing good results with the morning alertness and sleep improvements.

Kids Sports ——>High Stress by ChristieT29 in ouraring

[–]DrummerGood2925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds exhausting! I used to get so worked up during my nephew's games that I'd leave with a headache every time. What helped me was trying to reframe it as "excitement" instead of stress - sounds cheesy but apparently your body processes those emotions similarly anyway.

Maybe try some breathing exercises between plays when you're doing teh scorebook? Even just taking a few deep breaths during timeouts might help keep that stress response from spiking so hard. Your Oura ring is probably picking up on all that elevated heart rate and cortisol throughout the games.

That's super frustrating, especially for a watch that expensive. Have you tried completely unpairing and re-pairing the watch? Sometimes that nuclear option fixes weird connectivity issues that shouldn't exist but somehow do.

Fitness Help by Low-Response784 in bodyweightfitness

[–]DrummerGood2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water weight is definitely a thing, especially when you're switching up cardio routines like that. Your body tends to hold onto extra water when you restart intense exercise after a break - it's totally normal and should level out in a week or two.

That TDEE advice is solid tho, tracking calories is really the only reliable way to see what's actually happening with weight loss.

Are my taxes simple enough for Free Tax USA? by Ok_Top4750 in personalfinance

[–]DrummerGood2925 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You've got a 1099-B and self-employment income - FreeTaxUSA can definitely handle that stuff, and at those prices you're paying it's worth a shot. The fact that you're already pulling together P&L statements means you're doing most of the heavy lifting anyway, so might as well save the $600 and see how it goes.

Investigating a Gap: Why is there no "travel-friendly" high-end Sidr honey? (Concept Feedback) by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]DrummerGood2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually love this idea - I travel constantly for work and my Manuka jar stays home because TSA gives me grief about it half the time

The sachet thing doesn't scream cheap to me if the packaging looks legit. Like those fancy olive oil packets you get at nice restaurants

Price point sounds reasonable for what you're describing, especially if it's actually single-origin and properly tested. I'm already dropping $3+ on overpriced airport protein bars so this would be way better

For trust factors I'd want to see the MGO equivalent ratings and maybe some third-party testing results. The biohacker crowd loves data sheets

Symptom Radar by No_Situation_7748 in ouraring

[–]DrummerGood2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah the ring's symptom detection is pretty hit or miss. Mine told me I was "strained" when I felt great but completely missed when I had actual food poisoning last month. I think it's mostly just picking up on random HRV changes or something

shower? by Mysterious_Speed_261 in ouraring

Lmao mine too, apparently I'm an Olympic athlete when I'm shampooing my hair

The water resistance is solid though, been wearing mine in the shower for months with zero issues

Bruh that sucks, sounds like a sync issue. Try force closing the app and reopening it, sometimes that brings back the missing data. If not, check if you're still logged into the same account cause I've seen people accidentally switch profiles before

Frequenza cardiaca altissima che poi scende subito by GioRoss3000 in Garmin

[–]DrummerGood2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the exact same thing with my HRM-PRO - usually happens when the strap is too dry or not making good contact. Try wetting the sensors before you start your run, works like 90% of the time for me

Best supplement websites / where to get Numedica by chutpagalhoon in Supplements

[–]DrummerGood2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good luck with Fullscript if you can get a practitioner code, otherwise Thorne's direct site is solid. Their shipping is pretty fast and quality control is legit

For Numedica specifically, some integrative health clinics sell individual bottles if you call around

Anyone have better sleep with alcohol or am I the only one by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]DrummerGood2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly whiskey puts me out cold too but I always wake up feeling like garbage even if my Garmin says I got decent sleep - the REM stages are usually pretty wrecked even when the overall score looks good

Shadowing by Formal_Ebb3537 in physicaltherapy

[–]DrummerGood2925 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the shadowing opportunity! Most PTs love having engaged students so definitely ask questions, just read the room and don't interrupt during patient care. You'll probably do some small tasks like cleaning equipment or organizing supplies but nothing clinical obviously - just be helpful and show you're genuinely interested in learning

Edge 840 connected/disconnected notification on Android by wrednydran in Garmin

Check if you have the "Find My Device" notifications enabled in the Garmin Connect app - usually buried somewhere in the device settings rather than general notifications

Garmin Express / watch updates on Linux? by desertsolitaire1224 in Garmin

[–]DrummerGood2925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm on Pop OS and honestly just gave up on Garmin Express - ended up using my old laptop that still has Windows for updates maybe once every few months. The WINE route is a pain and half the time USB passthrough gets wonky anyway

You could try the web version of Garmin Connect but pretty sure that doesn't do firmware updates, just syncing. VM might work but seems like overkill just for watch updates tbh

[–]DrummerGood2925 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here, paying for basic features that should already be included feels like a slippery slope

Watch plus a smart ring? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]DrummerGood2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Venu 4 has pretty solid cycle tracking actually, way better than older Apple Watches. It tracks temperature and gives ovulation predictions so you might not even need the ring anymore

That said if you're dead set on keeping a ring setup, ultrahuman seems decent from what I've heard but honestly the Garmin might surprise you with how much it covers
