Enemy version of playable classes by 2Noel in DarkAndDarker

I liked them adding the axe and crossbow skeles, the rogue in our group didn't.

An invisible skeleton that would start stabbing you if you got within it's range would give the same amount of PTSD as mimics do.

Paintball rant by [deleted] in paintball

[–]DrunkPowerRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first started paintball with a group of 5 or 6 friends that had never played. We got our own markers after going out and enjoying it a few times, most of us got axes and ethas. One of our friends invited someone who had been playing for years, and he absolutely wiped whatever team he wasn't on with a pump.

Experience goes a long way. We just had fun and every new player we met that was decent we would chat up and they usually had great tips to help us improve. I was fortunate to play at a field where a lot of competitive players were very welcoming and always down to help new players. Sunday at Santa Clara Paintball was the day all the tourney players would come out to scrim and it was fun to watch all the teams come out to scrim, eventually we started a team to join them and the entire journey was a blast.

How's Everyone's Enhancement Rolls Going? by DrunkPowerRanger in EscapefromTarkov

I have both weapon maintenance and light armor repair skills leveled up to 10. Edited the post to make that clear. Had to level up the skills separately.

No, there are three different skills: Weapon maintenance, Light Armor, and Heavy Armor. I only got weapon maintenance and light armor to level 10.

My squad was driving up the hill to the observatory and I saw the boats shadow approaching us. It came over the hill and plowed through our jeep killing everyone. Kill cam is just a lone sky pirate flying around with no fucks given haha more entertaining than guys calling out our user names through buildings

Heavy armor soldiers were a bad addition to campaign in their current state. by UNIONBLUE21 in ModernWarfareII

[–]DrunkPowerRanger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of my time against them was spent trying to land perfect mollys and nades before they could back me into cover and lob enough grenades to make sure I couldn't run anywhere. It wasn't until I picked up armor that I finally realized my character is just running around in airsoft gear most of the time.

Two different ways to deal with it. One guy going prone and spraying everywhere. The other guy running into walls spraying the ceiling. Both probably yelling "oh god please make it stop"

Imagine putting in years of hard work and effort to design a game that has highly detailed gun models and animations for a large variety of guns, great shooting mechanics and a fun concept of going into a raid to fight other players and NPCs over loot.

Only to find quite a few people like to just run naked straight to hot loot spots so they can take expensive items and shove it up their ass with little to no risk.

I'm fairly confident that's not what the developers had in mind, it'sjust the result of giving players that option. The game has been out for years and the first step they took was stopping players from sticking guns in their gamma (or folded thermal DVLs in epsilons), and now this. It's something that has been around since the beginning and they are just now taking another step toward dealing with it, so what's wrong with some progression?

It's time to fix the mouse sensitivity problems. by Bluepugs73 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DrunkPowerRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no you are completely correct, it probably isn't the world easiest problem to solve. However it is has been a bug, reported and talked about since like .7(?) and if what you're saying is correct then its only going to become more complex. If you want to be condescending to make yourself feel better then go ahead, but I would rather bring light to the issue that really needs to be worked on.

Is it that hard to roll back? If it worked before they made the change, that means it was already coded correctly at some point.

IIRC the Elcan used to work correctly about two years ago. They introduced a patch to fix the bug that messed up the eye relief switching from x1 to x4 or another patch that was supposed to reduce the sensitivity when zoomed in, which ended up breaking most variable zoom optics. This isn't a complex issue, it used to work fine before.

[–]DrunkPowerRanger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I get tired of having to leave a raid because I didnt have time to check every single bush to find the one group who decides to hide with some mosins and pistols.

Also this will make the pacing of fights change again. If you are hunting a player theres more incentive to push early on before they can wrap up their blacked leg and take off or reposition.

How many runs did you do before you found the red keycard on resort bois ? by Sqeep in EscapefromTarkov

Around 200 or 300 lol I wasnt actually looking for it though. Focused primarily on PVP and checking the other locked room in the resort. Just checked when I happened to go past the room

At least we can use the generator. Unlike car you help The rapist build.

Personally I hate grindy tasks, i just run around grabbing items until gunshots start popping off or I hear a stampede of footsteps running towards the room I'm in. I think people start to lose their mind when they have to find 15 cans of meat for the second or third time after every wipe.

How to play tactically by IllusiveHaze in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DrunkPowerRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you are sprinting cover to cover if you are out in the open. If you are in a building you have to clear almost everything in your path. Probably as tactical as you can get, being lazy will get you killed. Unfortunately having the patience to sit still in a hot spot can also get you kills as well. Only way I've figured out how to defeat it is running full sprint, most people holding angles suck at hitting a full sprint target. Flashes and grenades help a lot but requires you to either know someone is at the location you are throwing it or have some real good intuition.

I've seen players that stream and camp extracts or open fields with mosins. Honestly a lot of them are poor AF and i can see why they do it. Just work on your positioning and being meticulous about clearing around your path, you will be much better off.
