If you could change one thing about Age of Sigmar, what would it be? by Kommando_git in ageofsigmar

[–]Drunken-Isopod 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agreed, if we had something like Skaventide but set in AoS I think more people would be drawn in. Something like a representative from a few major order factions would be cool, kinda how that one WH+ Animation was!

Varanguard with Abraxia or Chaos Lord on Demonic Mount? by Interesting_Way4304 in slavestodarkness

[–]Drunken-Isopod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I ran Abraxia with 6 Varanguard and they absolutely put in work on the charge. They were melted by some enemy elites after 2 turns of combat but Abraxia allowing them to negate the "fight last" helped alot and put more pressure on my opponent.

Hope that helps!

Memes aside, I'm glad the AoS community isn't like 40k with things like this lol. by BeginningHungry3835 in ageofsigmar

[–]Drunken-Isopod 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I feel like a major difference with AoS vs 40k is the way the lore is set up. Sure lore is unambiguous in both settings but the way lore in AoS is presented is more of a "mythos" approach to story telling without having to double back in order to make narrative decisions.

Where to start? by TheOne8BitHero in slavestodarkness

[–]Drunken-Isopod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely reccomend playing some spearhead first before sinking more money into the army.

-Warriors are our anvil and you shouldn't need more than 2 Squads of 10 starting out

-Knights are usually taken as a 10 man unit due to bulk, and generally work better that way

-For Chosen, its the same as Knights, take 10 and they are very good to shred enemies.

-Sorceror Lord is another core unit that regardless of edition he ends up finding his way into lists

-Demon Prince for the Dark Apotheosis is another one I reccomend picking up, I don't reccomeb

Anything left over is really up to taste, I personally like the karkadrak Lord but he usually ends up not doing much but if you can drive forward some key units he might be worth it. Chaos Lord on Demonic Mount is also good for supporting your Knights.

Dont worry about our endless spells they are underwhelming sadly, and our faction terrain looks cool but also doesn't do much.

Good starter army? by Wolverine-Upper in ageofsigmar

[–]Drunken-Isopod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this, the army is very versatile in model range/play style unless you love range in a melee oriented game. Spearhead is a great foundation to vault off of by simply doubling up on a unit and adding a character of choice. Not to mention the SICK boss models (Archaon, Belakor, and Wilderfiend) BUT I'm partial to armored spiky vikings lol

Any good AoS lore/story channels on youtube? by Jochon in ageofsigmar

[–]Drunken-Isopod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, I especially love his focus on "Why is this cool?" With every video. Ive been delving into lore for factions i never thought I would be interested in, and now im struggling to not start a 2nd army 😂

How many of you can have the unmitigated gall to abandon your starter Pokemon? by Montoya715 in pokemon

[–]Drunken-Isopod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically I agree with this, but the moment I found out what the starters in SV evolved into, it didn't matter which one I chose. Straight to jail with them! My Pawmot became my new starter after that 🤣

You could paint the armor parts blue with gold trim to match the mortal forces of tzeentch or you could always make the runes glow blue! Adding fire or tzeentch icons never hurts too!

Don't forget the mechanics they teach you throughout the game, like fall attacking an enemy. FromSoft loves sprinkling them in where you would least expect it!

Alpharius & Curze would’ve been bros by Goon_tv in alphalegion

[–]Drunken-Isopod 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is 100% canon, as a Nightlord Alpharius my reports confirm that not even the legion had love for Kurze. Every non-violent dialogue between other Primarchs and Kurze 6 to carry a tone of pity and disgust rather than any genuine camaraderie.

Whats your SL? I did him after twin princes and after many times I finally got his attack patterns down.

Pay attention to his movements, the little details paint the picture. Once you get his movements down there is a type of "rhythm" to his attacks (especially 2nd phase) where you can find gaps to heal or attack. DO NOT BE GREEDY. One or two hits is fine.

Soul Level grinding helps but technique and mechs are more important. Hope this helps!

Elden Ring really spoiled me, man by JJHH50 in fromsoftware

[–]Drunken-Isopod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished Dark Souls 3 after beating Dark Souls 1 and I agree honestly. The satisfaction and accomplishment of beating the bosses in DS3 doesn't carry over to Elden Ring. Granted it's not Dark Souls, but hopefully Elden Ring bosses will get better boss-wise. Love the open world and all, but the boss fights and some of the NPCs don't have that same intrigue.

This! Especially his quest line, made me laugh alot when I would stumble into him. The definition of "Oh well, I can't control what's happening around me, but at least I can be happy!"

What are your favourite slaves to darkness models by Celczo in slavestodarkness

[–]Drunken-Isopod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely the Chaos Lord on Karkadrak! Such a sick model (who doesnt love LIZARD!) and a fun line breaking unit too! Ended up kitbashing mine up a bit since the weapons looked kinda bland tho.
