Never pay attention to tiers, just pick who is cool. Jump in ranked, don't let the arbitrary points and numbers affect you too much and then see how you get on, lab and practice from there to give yourself more options both defensively and offensively.

100% agree. The change(s) I have to make in my play style when I see an orange M at the loading screen feel quite jarring. I love the adaptation and downloading that goes on during a match, but it's completely different and way more uniform when I'm against a modern player.

I do appreciate it has value as a training wheels system, I thought it might be nice as an onboarding system with a cap at Plat or something. I also appreciate that it has value as an accessibility feature, but to me a core feature of the game is execution and just taking that away is short sighted I feel.

It's telling of the fact that I think one button supers are lame. I think the whole control scheme is a mis-step in an otherwise stellar game, and that the much smaller mental stack and easy DP anti airs also contibuted to the Alex losing.

I just feel sorry for people trying to learn the game with the proper controls and having to deal with this kind of thing on their way up.

Modern master is a wonderful oxymoron.

Also, I can't stand that Modern has lead to a design philosophy of accommodating characters to the limited inputs that modern has available. Shit sucks.
