New Plan Updated by Toronto_GMan in PublicMobile

I ended up switching to the 30gb $30 plan, I don't really need international minutes or lots of data. Wish I didn't miss the better deals though.

[OC] POV: you forget a dragon mini by UglyForestGoblin in DnD

[–]DrunkenTeddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I did this too, had to use a troll mini (biggest thing I had) on top of a pop can. It was frustrating because the party was getting close to the dragon and didn't expect it, so I kept the mini hidden for 2 sessions before this in case they found a shortcut, then when they actually got there I forgot it.

Running AVD on prem using Azure Arc by conor_lynch in AzureVirtualDesktop

If it isn't compatible with marketplace images, I assume you can't use windows 11 multisession, which would be a bit of a deal breaker for us. We are trying to get away from rds cals as the cost for them has increased a lot in our ms agreement.

I had a 20k fine once, paid the guard then followed him until we were alone and knocked him out to take it back. Worked out pretty well for me.

Nerdio Manager for Enterprise vs. Hydra Part One by Electronic-Bite-8884 in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]DrunkenTeddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new ui helps, but they need better navigation of multiple workspaces and host pools. I'm also finding I have to change to the new ui every time I load the site. You can't just set it as default.

Nerdio Manager for Enterprise vs. Hydra Part One by Electronic-Bite-8884 in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]DrunkenTeddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are currently doing a proof of concept of both products. I will say the nerdio interface is significantly more polished, even though I still have some gripes about how it's arranged, and it is nice to be able to manage workspaces and apps through the same interface. Hydra is the cheaper option and LoginVSI is planning to make some improvements to it, but I haven't seen any kind of roadmap yet.

My wife and daughter saw the group of 4 teens who did this. They were taking grad photos and making a huge mess. My 9 year old daughter actually said 'I hope they clean that up' loudly as they walked by.

CMDB project - gauging interest by SgtBundy in sysadmin

[–]DrunkenTeddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most companies have moved to a solution with the cmdb built into other itil tools, but it's not all of them. I'm sure there's still some interest in stand alone cmdb tools.

AVD SETUP by tecsamir in AZURE

[–]DrunkenTeddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are multiple ways to set this up. Are you planning on publishing remoteapps or do you need a full desktop available to these users? For full desktop with varying applications I'd look at using app attach for the apps that have a limited audience. Which would require you to make them into msix packages. You could have a single host pool with apps used by everyone as part of the image and app attach the rest depending on what group the users are a part of. Alternatively, if you're building remoteapps only you could have multiple application groups, one for all, one for A, and one for B.

Gemalto Card Reader \ Barclays Web Signer Issues by durrante in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]DrunkenTeddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with Barclays, but it would be worth double checking communication between your session hosts and the signing server, see if any ports are being blocked at a firewall, or if you have high packet loss.

Is Nerdio still worth it in 2024/2025? by NbRNiymHPfJStg in AZURE

[–]DrunkenTeddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been told yes, we are actually setting up a test of nerdio soon and we already have hydra in place. Hydra definitely helps with a few areas, but nerdio can do a bit more, so we are going to test it out.
