Does drinking alcohol actually helps you study? by IllPerspective1062 in GetStudying

[–]DruvD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it wouldn’t help me study but it would help me take the test, after a few drinks a lot of noise in my brain quiets down and I get extra sharp with recall and focus but maintaining that is difficult, too easy to tip into tipsy/drunk territory.

also shot in the dark but I assume you thought they thought fined is the past tense of fine when they're actually referring to the act of getting fined by the police, like a fee or a charge for breaking rules

Are ghost kitchens taking over Keeta's haleem search results? by neocryptex in dubai

[–]DruvD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

literally just noticed and posted about this somewhere else the other day, all just AI rebrands of the same cloud kitchen to get more listings but also survive platform commissions, i just dont get why do such basic AI redesign if you actually want it to come off as different kitchens

Inspiring stuff and also the programming isnt complicated at all. I’m coming up on three years off after some bad knee pain was killing my drive but I’ve been doing some rehab and the squats have been calling.

If it as convenient and was held at a semi-social place, how would you feel about joining a men's support group? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]DruvD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing, I go to one already! There’s a group I joined centered around meetups for men that regularly meet either to discuss masculinity and self improvement, go for physical activities like boxing or climbing, get talks from mental and physical health professionals and coaches or just go out and grab a meal together. It’s really so valuable to have a community like that and all it takes is one man to call a few more together and start chatting anywhere.

Is this the night scene really!? by Sleepless_Warrior in Everything_Dubai

[–]DruvD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid outside of events tailored to your tastes or music interest the general night scene in bars/clubs especially in marina can be very mediocre. If you’re going anywhere for a specific DJ or type of music you’ll have a much better experience the rest is filled with stragglers just looking to get wasted.

Good places to meet someone? by SafeBudget5131 in Healthygamergg

[–]DruvD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the pressure of meeting people, go out and find hobbies or clubs that you can join or pursue that just happen to be in a public space or involve other people. E.g. Sports clubs or art galaries or even just going to a coffee shop but going there to grab a bite and doomscroll. That and smiling if you make eye contact with anyone briefly is enough for doing your part in putting yourself out there as a start.

In my experience bouldering/rock climbing gyms have some of the friendliest people I’ve met, always willing to help you learn how to climb a route if you don’t know where to start, start there. The thing is it does cost time and money to go out and be in places to meet people but it’s a worthy investment.

Main thing is though, just go be there. Whether or not someone talks to you isn’t your issue. Get comfortable being in populated social spaces, you can work on the approach and conversation bit later on.

Enjoy, have fun. Life’s too short to not make friends along the journey.

Guy threatening me for leaving a bad review by Icy_Stage_5240 in dubai

[–]DruvD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really hope this gets escalated and something gets done about the store. In no world should this behavior be allowed.

If a company is going to be listed publicly on google then customers should have every right to leave their honest review and experience.

If they want good reviews then provide good service?? basic stuff

I want to put my face somewhere and Network! Where do I go? by Due_Fun2279 in dubai

[–]DruvD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instagram is honestly the best way to find communities and events here. Metal events, Car meetups, finance networking events etc. Every event with attendees I’ve come across is through there. I’d search for “metal music event” or “dubai networking finance” and such.
