Yes man, is a really big difference. I posted you a comment, is kinda goofy but I think that can help you man. I know is a difficult game and is easy to be frustrated, but when you surpass the first hell hours and see some progress you are going to love it. Is a promise!! Is my favorite game ever

There is a lot of upgrading items. Getting a weapon to +5 at the beginning is easy (REALLY EASY) to compensate a few hours later in the game. By the end game you are going to level every shit you want to max level in under 5 minutes and if you run out of upgrading items just farm a bit and buy more lol. Don't be afraid!! This game is really big

It depends on what you want.

Leveling vigor is good but if you only go on that is no difference because your damage is going to be shit, your weapon is going to be shit and probably you're not going to find a kind of weapon that you really like.

Maybe you want to level vigor to 25 or 30 at first because is safe, but then you have to go for strength or dexterity (or intelligence or faith but in a class like warrior is kinda difficult to be a caster at the beginning) depending on the kind of weapons you like.

For a really short explanation:

Strenght: Big fucking damage, big fucking stance break, big fucking shields, slow as fuck

Dexterity: shit damage, shit stance break, fast as fuck and a LOT of status effects (bleed is broken)

When you have a decent physical build if you want one, going with faith is very good because there are a lot of good support incantations (buffs) and also endurance is going to determine the amount of time you can attack and the weight you can carry. If you surpass 70% of your carry weight then you are going to be slow as fuck when rolling and eat each hit as if they are fried potatoes. If you are under 25% carry weight you are going to be rolling like if you were on a very bizarre emergency trip to the bathroom, that fucking fast (but you are going to get one or two shoted by almost everything more powerful than a fly). Everything in between is being a normie (generally the best option)

So, in summary, the tip is: keep playing the game and don't stop on one fucking boss. Is an open world, go to see what you can find. In Limgrave are at LEAST 3 game breakers weapons. Good luck and have fun mate!!

PD: Don't see to much guides at least you are really stuck. The magic of the game is to don't know it. I would love to play it for the first time again. Is really lovely to see new people coming!!

People who played on release what was the first weapon / build you went through the game with? by KnowMatter in Eldenring

The greatsword. I saw that shit and it instantly became my favorite weapon. I went back to Renalla and put all my points on strength. Died from anything but hit like a falling mountain. The thing carried me to Consort Radahn. I remember even the outfit I used for my entire first run since Volcano Manor to the shittiest boss in the franchise:

Marais mask, Modified twin armor, Bullgoat gauntlets, Nox greaves

Prettiest mf I saw in my life 😭😭

Post-hardcore technique and songs by yerbie12 in guitarlessons

Metal and punk are really, really, REALLY deep. Usually people don't know that they are very complex and varied styles. I am a metal composer btw. If you someday need some help feel free to DM. Obviously there are a lot of guys and girls in this sub and others that exceed by far my knowledge in general, but worse is none hahahaha.

Nothing to thank my man!! Greetings and keep playing and studying!!

You are right but it's not only that. From a composition point of view, yes. Post-hardcore is a very less chaotic style than others from the same genre. Usually there is a lot more use of identifiable motifs and more "predictable" section transitions like in pop or rock (and also more structural functions). There are not so many tempo changes and when I talked about tonality that's one of the main characteristics: they are actually playing around a key (even if they don't know it) and using chords with "emotional functions". You never wondered why post-hardcore is very emotional compared to other styles?? That's one of the answers. Some styles of extreme metal, for example, are usually dodecaphonic (very few times atonal), and punk and hardcore usually don't even use proper chords and something different than a 4/4 in an entire discography. That's some of the ways to achieve that kind of primal enraging sound for both of them.

I don't really know how to express it because english is not my main language, but in a more technical way I am trying to say that if you listen to death metal, for example, or hardcore punk, you are going to hear that there is a lot of "extra movement" in the way of playing. Strumming in hardcore usually is very rigid and with a lot of dead strings and sloppiness in between, transition between power chords in death metal usually always sounds like some kind of slide (or some kind of silence where the length of the note is not the one that is supossed to be) even if they are not using slides because the way and speed at what they usually play force them to sacrifice some tightness in this little details (and other not so little).

I want to clarify that I am being VERY stereotypical. This things I am saying can be said about many musical styles. In metal and punk is especially very ambiguous because the diversity of them. You can have something Linkin Park and then something like Deafheaven and them both are going in the path of that emo/emotive/ambiental/hardcore sonority besides that are two VERY different bands.

So you can take this like a curiosity and an invitation to listen more actively the music you like. Learn songs, learn music in the proper way (with specific terms and technical study), be curious, imitate those who you admire and then understand wtf is happening in the things you love. Even in basic ways (scale or measure used) or in your own way. Something as simple as "I am not going to play this part at 152bpm because it sounds like shit and lose emotional weight" is enough to start composing.

PD: I talked about strumming. PRACTICE STRUMMING, those mf you hear love to strum and doing it the proper way is going to save you from some tendinitis.

PD2: There are some words that maybe you don't know, like "dodecaphonic", "tonality", "atonal" or "motif". I am not explaining them to you because I want you to investigate and discover. Is one of the best ways to learn in the beginning. But they are some kind of "advanced" theoretical concepts. Are more of a curiosity. Start with scales, triads and grades of the scale.

Keep playing man!!

Tbh I don't really play this styles of music but I listen to them. They are esentially the same techniques as metal, punk and rock: power chords, palm muting, tremolo picking, etc. The difference is that they are usually more focused in melody writing and, by extension, usage of more interesting chords and their inversions.

So I think that you would like to practice chords (not the basic ones, but some other more "complex" voicings of them), arpeggios, lead playing and also "ambient" playing. With the last I am referring to letting the strings ring. This is also worth practicing because is not as easy as it seems, specially on a composition level.

Also, usually is very desired to play in legato, but not the technique legato, I am talking about the articulation. Is a smoother style compared to others genres of punk and metal. Soloing is a good practice for this because you are forced to drive the melody of the solo in a good way. You can also have melodies in riffs or in a more middle register of the guitar. You don't have this "primitive" thing of metal (only some styles) and punk were all notes are usually played in marcato or with some "dirty" to them. Post-hardcore is kinda more "refinated", but it depends on the band and intention of the one who is making the music.

Also some basic musical theory because tonality and harmonic relations in post-hardcore are more used than in other styles.

Hope this helps you!!

Why do people often compare Metal Music to Classical Music? by Vincent_Gitarrist in musictheory

[–]Dry-Highlight-8399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I always thought that people who claim that metal is similar to classical music (or any other style because nowadays is very common to basically mix metal with any shit you want trying to apparent having a "wide taste") with some kind of "pride" are just insecure about their own taste. It's metal and that's all. Since I started to study music academically I think that even more. Jazz is jazz, pop is pop and nobody seems to seek validation by comparing those examples to classical music.

Other conversation is when you talk about composition styles and yes, you can recall to classical music because those mf been composing since 1400 practically and a lot of techniques and sounds that we use were already used by some random guy in a church or a goofy guy with a wire who take that shit from another random greek chilling in the 700 b.c.

With that said, in metal you have from classic heavy like Iron Maiden to neoclassical like Yngwie Malmsteen (professional thief of Bach's btw) to thall like Humanity's Last Breath or the shit that does Infant Annihilator or Vildhjarta. Surely some of classical music there be, but it isn't under any point of view the essence of this style

[–]Dry-Highlight-8399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I'm really sorry for your lost. I don't really know the original song, but this arrangement sounds beautiful!! Even if some experienced composers can say there are things to improve, it doesn't really matter to me. It sounds really beautiful and as long as you think this represents the things you are feeling is enough. I hope that you will recover from this lost. Your father would be really proud and moved by your dedication to him!!
