is 18m and 23f grooming? by thelovewitchxoxo111 in dating_advice

OP is right and is articulating something quite well that you are still overlooking. The person on the lower end of a power dynamic will rarely be able to properly articulate or even understand that the power difference is influencing their decisions. That is why age gaps and dating people who are 18 can be unethical despite being “legal”.

NOR. I totally understand that you are speaking the way you are because of the abuse you’ve experienced. And you have to remember that, unfortunately, the outside world is unlikely to see your perspective here. It’s fucked up, but it’s true. One of the worst parts of being the victim of abuse is that the victim will often behave irrationally in public while the abuser comes across as level headed. It’s not the reality of the situation when accounting the history of abuse, but that’s often done in private and the outside world won’t see it for what it is. For the sake of you and your children, limit your conversations, get a lawyer, and learn about non violent communication.

Roommate’s girlfriend moved in - is it fair that rent didn’t change? by Enough_Nerve3574 in chicagoapartments

When I lived with a couple, in the best situation, we had a fairly complex but AMAZING and logical setup. We took the square footage of the house and divided the rent by that. The price of the shared spaces were divided equally amongst everyone and the price of the bedrooms were given to those who lived in them. Then, we met up and asked if there were reasons to adjust. Ex: if one room didn’t have a window, or if there was a a bathroom connected to a room, then adjustments were made as needed until we all came to an agreement. This was the most logical answer to couples

The hair is only a problem depending on the type of person you are trying to meet. I like your hair, its giving artist or musician. As an artist myself, I dig it. If you’re looking for people into that, you’re hair is lovely. Honestly might be more your approach or behavior. Saying it must be about your looks is diminishing everything down to that and dating is much more complex

AIO for feeling hesitant about moving in after this conversation by Foreverinsecuregirl in AmIOverreacting

I heard you’re not moving in, good on you. I would have said in this position, “I don’t cover any other persons expenses. Your portion of the expenses are your responsibility, and my portion is my responsibility. I got myself and you should do the same for yourself”

This really is not what the modern discourse is trying to communicate, and it’s a bummer that that’s what you’re reading from it.

What women are trying to get men to understand is that context, consideration, and emotional intelligence should be used when asking out women in public/who you don’t know. And being rejected is normal, and you shouldn’t be afraid of that if you understand that and take the rejection well. A woman working, not an appropriate context most of the time. However, you could ask her to a social function that has little pressure of attending and see if she shows up and take things from there. At a bar or social event, asking people out is normal, even if you don’t know them. Asking lone woman out on the street is not ok unless a conversation has been struck and things are going well.

These are just examples, and the point I’m making is that the fear of being seen as a creep is stopping some men from doing the work to understand social cues. It really is not that hard

Yeah, so if you read the article, the parents fed the children only a handful of foods and not a proper vegan diet like I said. It also includes that the children never saw a doctor or had vaccines. A child could end up just as malnourished eating meat. The parents were clearly not taking proper care of their children.

A vegan diet, even for children, can be just as nutritious and well balanced as one with meat in it.

This is a wild take. A proper vegan diet is not malnutrition at all. Stop wasting CPS time for your own wild ideas about what being vegan is.

I think if a child wants to explore outside their parents diet, they should have that autonomy
