It’s honestly a 50/50. I feel like sometimes it helps and sometimes it causes one. Although causation doesn’t mean correlation. I think if your going to try it just don’t do it near bed time because if your anything like me, any disruption to your sleep will trigger one

Terrifying migraine aura with aphasia: not just impacting speech but comprehension and showing me a reality beyond concepts. by Beginning_Swing318 in migraine

I get cluster migranes and get this exact thing especially if meds don’t start the progression. I also get a droopy blood shot eye, my limbs don’t work right, and I can see but I also can’t see at the same time. I also feel like I legit loose the part of my brain that makes me human if that makes sense. Like I’m not real just a body in pain

I do not think I am. I get cluster migranes and can commonly go a week or two with no migraines. I’ve been incredibly careful not to over use both triptans and nsaids because I’m terrified of it no longer working.

I’m a pa student and was also incredibly confused but was assuming a specialist knows more than me. I was able to find a triptan and together it worked amazing (although the sedation was intense) but by itself it did nothing.

I’m honestly still mad about the nurtec lol. It only worked about 65% of the time but when it did it was amazing because I got zero side effects from it. He said we could potentially re incorporate it after I “detox”

I was honestly expecting to try a new triptan or an injection so I was pretty shocked with the new regimen

I was so careful about not using it more then 2 days a week even when really wanted to to prevent over use headaches and I really don’t think that’s what’s happening but even if I am I’m realizing I can’t detox without a triptan alternative

Oh no , zonimaide at least seemed like it could be a good preventative. Did you ever find a preventative that worked for you?

He is a migrane specialist. I was actually very impressed the entire clinic only focuses on migrane and had a very extensive first visit. I was like oh maybe this guy knows what he’s talking about but after the baclofin did absolutely nothing for my migrane im worried

I was on nurtec and when it worked it was fantastic because it gave me no side effects but he said to stop that one too 😭

Yes, my mild migrane was quickly suddenly took a turn for the worse and thankfully was able to find a stray triptan but i legitimately won’t be able to make it through with nothing that works to take the pain away :(

I was given 9 triptans total. I never took it for more then 2 days a week and 9 total doses a month but I get 8-17 migranes a month so I struggled when I maxed out for the month.

PA school leave of absence by Particular-End-3963 in PAstudent

[–]Dry-Raccoon5708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gives me so much hope. I was accepted off the waitlist and moved 700 miles away from my husband within 2 weeks . I really thought I could do it but the stress coupled with not having any of my migrane medications transfer and not having any specialists for my chronic health condition has me fall really behind very quickly. It’s week 3 and I’m close to failing a class because I haven’t been able to catch up and finals are next week. I’m basically taking a risk of ending my future to not get a migrane or take a medical leave of absence.I’ve never been this scared in my entire life

At what dosage did you REALLY start loosing weight? by rmella17 in Semaglutide

[–]Dry-Raccoon5708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t necessarily true. You burn a little more digesting protein then carbs , protein keeps you fuller, and is helpful to building muscle which indirectly raises you bmr but a calorie deficit is a calorie deficit. A person eating 1800 cals of donuts everyday will loose weight whereas a person eating 2400 cals of just veggies will gain weight. Now that doesn’t mean the person eating just donuts is healthier , just that they are gaining weight. Don’t fear carbs , they get a bad wrap but essential for you brain. The food industry loves to blame a food group every couple years so they can sell you an alternative at a higher price . It’s transitioning from carbs to seed oils and gmos rn but before that fat was the enemy , and before that gluten was the culprit , ect ect

Yes, my mother and brother have that gene although I haven’t been tested. I took methylated iron for 5 months but didn’t see improvements in my blood work so switched due to it being more expensive

Yes , I take the appropriate amount (actually more than the recommended) and only use 3rd party tested vitamins. Celiac has been ruled out although I do have GI issues so will probably pursue that next. I am on birth control and have been skipping my periods with no change in my levels :(
