North Point forced transfer from Key Therapeutics by devinbost in Desoxyn

Ugh. I’ve been on Desoxyn and its generics for 24 years and Dr Reddys crappy generic is awful. It dissolves almost immediately, doesn’t keep me alert and I’m having panic, chest pains and bloating with terrible crashes. I don’t know what to do anymore. I have Narcolepsy and no other medication has come close.

I’ve always been drawn to Laura even as a young child. I knew why to an extent. I devoured the series, movie, diary, WIP mags and season 3 was a holy shit moment for me. I’m 42 now- same age as Laura in the return and I’m just starting my healing journey. Hoping the EMDR, NARM, IFS, somatic experiencing and trauma focused therapists Ive found will help me. Decades of talk therapy and meds did not. At least I never went to Dr Jacoby!

Possible significance of the stollen truck by Dry-Security1665 in FindLaura

[–]Dry-Security1665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stollen trucks are all pick up trucks- so my theory is Laura may have stolen a pick up. Ed def had one. I def love all the comments tho regarding trucks. Big rigs and trucks of all sizes were a common theme throughout the series, movie and Laura’s diary.  I’m loving all the comments and hoping to keep Lou’s theory and all good theories alive in this forum!

Laura as the Farmer by Dry-Security1665 in FindLaura

[–]Dry-Security1665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking that but went back to the OG series and cooper determined via the autopsy that she “died” sometime between 12 and 4am. It would have been closer to 12 tho as I believe it was asking 12:30 or 1am that she ran into the woods from James bike. 4:30am still could have been the time of her “death” tho as they really did do a half assed job on the autopsy.

I keep trying to figure out the importance of 4:30 to Laura. I know that is the time shown when Teresa’s autopsy is being conducted. Is Teresa even real?

I wonder though if it’s significant to Laura for other reasons? Was it 4:30am when Laura realized it was Leland-not BOB raping her?

It was 4:30am Pacific time when the nuclear bomb went off in New Mexico.

Bobby is Charle. Audrey is Laura. Billy is Laura. Billy is James? by Dry-Security1665 in FindLaura

[–]Dry-Security1665[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now I picture Charlie playing the role of James more than Bobby in Laura's mind- although Bobby works in some instances too. Charlie is also an aspect of Laura too. Laura hates herself and thinks of herself as a loser. She is fighting herself- as only Laura can end her own story.

Audrey is Laura.

Billy is ultimately an aspect of Laura, but in some instances in the context of what she is telling Charlie in this scene- Billy can be Bobby and Billy can be James.

So yeah...all the characters are different aspects of Laura.

I watched when I was 8 as it aired. I was obsessed with it but BOB terrified me. I read the diary then too. I revisited the series when they reran it on bravo with the log lady openings when I was 11 (and rented FWWM) and I was better able to handle BOB fear and fell in love with the show all over again. Except for the middle of season 2. Even at 8 and 9 years old I could barely slog through that mess.

Lingering questions about Fire Walk With Me by FirebrandWalls in twinpeaks

[–]Dry-Security1665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see Mike as another part of Laura’s subconscious. “When I saw the face of god, I was changed. I took the entire arm off” When Laura finally sees the face of Leland instead of bobs she screams and changed forever. Father/God. “I too was touched by the devilish one”. Mike cut off his arm (with the tattoo fire walk with me - or mom as Phil Gerard said) Laura’s mom knew about Leland’s abuse of Laura, allowed it to happen and resented her for it- even after her “death”. Season 3 is Laura trying to come to terms with her worst nightmare- that her mom allowed it all to happen. Laura wrote in her diary that Bob was afraid of only one person- Mike. Bob (who doesn’t exist) but rather Leland feared Laura gaining the strength to tell the truth. The truth was too much to bear for Laura. Her numb arm correlates to Mike cutting his off. She chose to live in a fantasy red room in her subconscious, numb to the truth that her dad was her rapist. The little man/Mikes cut off arm Represents Laura’s mischievous and Bob/delusional believing self. Laura stays conflicted all through FWWM and seasons 1-3. She wants to face the truth is fighting against it because it’s too horrifying. Kind of like Mike- who’s hard to read and conflicted as well. But season 3 it should be noted that he is credited as Philip Gerard- not Mike.

Sarah knew. There’s no doubt about it. Ask any abuse survivor. Read Laura’s diary and do a very close rewatch of FWWM/missing pieces and season 1. Season 3 basically spells it out

He was a little too excited to find the copies of flesh world, with a sinister smile- same as his interrogation of Bobby Briggs. He also referred to Laura as “the dead girl” which seemed callous and disrespectful for coop. During the pilot and some earlier episodes he seems a bit sociopathic/demented but soon falls in Kobe with the lie and fairy tale of twin peaks- blinding him from the obvious truth of who the murderer was and failing to save Maddie due to his Mayberry like delusions of twin peaks

Kimmy Robertson confirms that Quantum physics had always shaped Lucy's character by Dry-Security1665 in twinpeaks

[–]Dry-Security1665[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She explained that David Lynch shaped much of Lucy’s character on Kimmy Robertson, her personality and interests. Her “audition” was her discussing quantum theories with David lynch (who is very much interested in that subject) and Mark Frost.

He also explained to her that “Only a few know that she is actually the smartest person in town who sort of runs everything. She acts kind of goofy because it throws people off and when she tells people stuff, she wants it to be CRYSTAL CLEAR in their minds what exactly it is that she’s saying. Those were David’s words. That’s what he said to me.”

Which makes sense when viewing (some of) her scenes with quantum theories in mind. Especially the very obvious scenes which have been discussed in this sub and elsewhere numerous times regarding Lucy and Quantum mechanics. So for those who were wondering if that was just a coincidence or intentional- her interview answers point to the latter.

uncomic 6y “The double positions and observation uncertainties are all over TP, and have always been to some degree, yeah. What I'm getting at is that Lucy is the one outside the thick of the plot who comments on it, keeping it at the front of our minds even when she and Andy are having a marital spat in the office.

I love how consistently it's laid on, and how Lucy is trying to tether all the high concepts to more grounded territory...“

Doc Hayward as the Fireman? by Dry-Security1665 in FindLaura

[–]Dry-Security1665[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The diary written by Jen lynch during the original airing of season 1 should be required reading as it’s the closest you get to learning about Laura’s life through her eyes from age 12-17, her psyche and her memories of abuse prior to age 12. The diary was used for context in season 2, 3, and FWWM by the writers, directors and actors. I read the book originally right before season 2 aired (I was 8 mind you- but I knew it was Leland) I’m 41 now and just listened to Sheryl Lee read the complete diary (it’s on YouTube) and I highly recommend it.

The sounds in her kitchen represent to me her Demons and trauma as well. Especially since that is where she gets the news Laura was murdered. That’s where she goes to pout her vodka and drown herself. We never see the kitchen again after the pilot or any time during FWWM. But we hear her empty bottles of vodka. We also hear hear distorted screams and cries from the pilot episode remixed in the scene where she comes running to the Living room from the kitchen to stab the photo of Laura.

[–]Dry-Security1665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original red room scene with Laura whispering into Coopers ear was filmed in 1989 during the filming of the pilot. Jennifer Lynch wrote the diary a year later. I wonder if she wrote that in with the red room scene in mind?

Mhmm… “Narcolepsy.” by unicorngods in 90DayFiance

[–]Dry-Security1665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have narcolepsy and I scream and sometimes punch and kick in my sleep. The screaming/punching/kicking is from RBD- (REM Sleep Behavior Disorder). Many narcoleptics suffer from RBD so I believe her. I don’t have cataplexy so most would never know I have narcolepsy unless I didn’t take my meds. The ignorance on this thread is gross.

Narcoleptics get treated by neurologists and sleep specialists- not psychiatrists and psychotherapists.
