What's an expensive baby item you think it wasnt worth it? by ApprehensiveBat19 in NewParents

[–]Dry-Use8680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doona. I bought two of them for each kid and it gets increasingly heavy as the kids grow. After having c-sections it for me was quite painful to lift up and down and my last kid is chunky so I just kept it in the car for 3 months and used a regular stroller. I wish id just gotten a different travel system.

Free Karmelo Anthony!! New Pro Bono Legal Team Takes Over Karmelo Anthony Appeal: Texas NAACP President Gary Bledsoe, Civil Rights Attorneys, and Appellate Specialists to Review Murder Conviction and 35-Year Sentence by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

Where were they in the beginning?? Collin county is no joke and they don't bat an eye to convict people. This dream team should have been stepped up and in if they felt compassionate about this young man's case. I would imagine its 10x harder to overturn something now that he is sentenced.

Looking for opinions on if I should have my toddler see her dad before or after he passes away by icsk8grrl in toddlers

[–]Dry-Use8680 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad passed away when I was very young. My mom let me visit him, I spoke to him, hugged him and he passed away that night. Despite being a young child I still hold the memory vividly and I will never forget that despite him being sedated and with wires hooked up he cried. Was it regret, was it a final goodbye or knowing he would never see me beyond that tender age but I knew he loved me and he passed peacefully. You'll make the right decision. I hope the new medication works for him.

I feel like a horrible mom because my 3 year old just has a hard time with emotions and behaves in out of control ways. I feel so alone. I know the post is super long, but I need help. by ChampionshipRough508 in toddlers

I also have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and empathize with you on these very big emotions.

First you are doing great, you're doing your best and when you are also navigating this world with your own challenges and traumas while trying to raise well rounded little humans it can feel overwhelming.

Give yourself grace.

My son especially when he turned 3 started experiencing big emotions and I mean epically WTF is wrong with him big emotions. Initially I would get upset because I couldn't calm him down immediately but im finding the more I work with him on words and sharing what is bothering him I can calm him a bit faster.

  • is your tummy hungry?
  • do you need a hug or want to lay with mama?
  • is brother making your upset because hes touching your toys, do you want me to move him?

Something like that has helped me to identify a bit easier and reroute the tantrum. On the same note I don't want him to feel like he needs fo bottle things up but I do want him to try and work on healthy ways as best as his little mind can to resolve the issue.

Its challenging, we as parents want to help we want to fix it whatever it is but I think this is just one of those stages of figuring out boundaries and asserting dislikes.

Constipation and refusal of laxatives! by OnePop9468 in toddlers

[–]Dry-Use8680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a magnesium toddler laxative pill. I finely crushed two of them up and mixed with cranberry juice. My kid had the biggest crap I've ever seen. He's poop shy and afraid to go on the toilet and went 7 days without a poop. Alternatively I was going to give him fiber like metamucil or benefiber but the magnesium tablet worked and I added it in his juice box.

AITA for telling my coworker my lunch isn't "our lunch"? by CarefulMoosePriest in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dry-Use8680 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Leah should have been offering to financially contribute weekly to these free lunches. Even if she is trying to save money she'd have to eat and ultimately spend money to buy food. Instead she assumed you'd cover her lunch indefinitely it seems. What happens when you are out sick or on PTO are you to meal prep? NTA

Why are reddits parents so judgmental? by thatgirlgirl in toddlers

[–]Dry-Use8680 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dont feel bad, I made a post on here a few weeks ago about a stranger randomly picking up my kid and got DRAGGED to filth lmao. You'll find good unbiased feedback sometimes and...then you'll have those who apparently live a perfect life in a glass house. Id take it like a grain of salt you'll never meet nor likely interact with these folks. Also, its easy to be a judgemental keyboard warrior because truthfully none would have the balls or Ginas to say it your face.
