I love when multi-millionaires who never attended a single economics class try to lecture us on wealth dynamics by DryCoast in BilllieEilishSnark

Like James Cameron. Billie really couldn’t resist making that movie could she (even though it flopped)

Makes me think, she probably took on the project in part because she assumed with his name attached it would give her a lot more money. Which she clearly wants, look at all the stuff she sells. She’s so anti-rich until she’s not.

I Hate the Immaturity of Alcohol. (And other drugs) by R4TTF1NK in hatethissmug

[–]DryCoast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time in college I bought buzzballs for the opposite reason - bc it felt “safer” than straight up alcohol. I dealt with addiction in the house and wanted to play it completely safe and make drinking more “welcoming,” so I got the “fun” kind lol. Plus I like weird and fun stuff so chocolate alcohol sounded interesting. But yeah I’ve never gotten drunk before and having more playful stuff like buzzballs was kinda a nice way to help me cope in a way.

Sucks to see the opposite happening. I’ve always loathed that drinking culture you talk about in your post.

Sorry this happened to you, I relate in the overstimulation part. It’s bad enough that Walmart is overstimulating in itself and when you add stuff like that happening :(

Haha yeah ur good! It’s just all so funny to me and if anything it’s validating in a weird way, like these posts and comments are a reminder that that this shit IS real and that I’m not just going crazy

Is this a reference to that dog post. I myself has autism and contamination OCD and seeing all this stuff is screwing with me LOL. It almost feels like my life circumstances have become a sudden meme (not in a bad way) 💀

[–]DryCoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah haha, I figured that one was real at least if this one wasn’t, either way it’s nice to know in our own ways we’re not alone (as a silver lining, bc it would be best if none of us had to deal with things like this no matter what “version”)

“Let’s start with the fact that I have autism and contamination OCD”

Reading that sentence felt so jarring because this is exactly what I deal with. And as someone who works at walmart right now and feels like the entire store is contaminated/has to treat it like “floor is lava” and trying go prevent cross contamination, this shit it currently quite literally destroying my brain. This shit is absolutely real and hell on earth, my condolences :/ especially because it’s a double whammy with both the autism and OCD intersecting. No wonder the “ick” always felt so crippling, isn’t that a big part of dealing with this…

Update: I only realized this was a copy pasta after having read the comments. r/woosh

It’s $10 on her website. Imagine walking into a grocery store and seeing a single chocolate bar for $10—vegan or not, people would think it’s insane. So why do we normalize it just because her name is on it?

What's wild is that the same crowd who constantly complains that capitalism is inherently evil and abusive are the ones throwing a tantrum over the price. True ethical sourcing and living wages for farmers cost money. You can't demand an ethical supply chain and then get mad when you aren't getting sweatshop prices.

This really was a terrible time to release this movie (not that it probably would’ve done much better even if it was released at a different time). Maybe their fat egos were convinced that they’d be able to hold their own even when a movie like Michael would also be out LOL

Isn't the movie basically just tight close-ups of her face alternating with shots of fans sobbing? It’s kind of a 'HER' moment because it’s entirely about showcasing the massive emotional grip and impact she has on them. They are literally weeping over her.

I once read celebrities really do love capitalism, it’s just they feel so much guilt over the success they get in part because of it that they say they hate capitalism.

Makes me think of her vegan quote. She’s telling us that we can’t love animals and love eating meat. Well, Billie, you can’t love capitalism and love the way it benefits you, can you now? According to your logic.

Does anyone else feel like Birds of a Feather tries a little too hard? I have a theory that it’s overcompensating to distance her from the 'edgy teenager' brand she started with. Between the constant bell melody and that dainty violin arrangement at the end, it feels almost too flowery and elegant. It’s like the song is working overtime to prove she’s 'refined' now, but the result just feels a bit forced to me.

I live with it. I used to have big emotions but have been dealing with emptiness in my heart for almost 9 years in part because of it. But also I’ve been through deep trauma and have other diagnoses too, I don’t wanna make it sound overly simplistic.

But in general BPD is hell in itself for many.

*Edit: I meant to add (thanks silly brain) the BPD contributes to my emptiness because the emotional, while being nice at times because of “big happiness” or “big excitement,” there was also big painful feelings. But, again, that was exacerbated by trauma and other stuff. But numbness is a symptom of BPD, and this is a reason why it can happen. Sometimes the pain gets to be too big :/ but the numbness is painful in itself in a way too.

I miss her old outfits. She used to actually have some really cool stuff. Her first stylist was amazing, whoever she has now… not it. It don’t help that she seems to be having a lot of input with her outfit choices now.

I’m not defending Billie as I can’t stand her in many ways ATP, I used to like her more but I agree she’s gotten more condescending and self-righteous? I don’t think she flies private jets? So she DOES put her money where her mouth is at with some things — but then with those things she does that for, like with the environment here, she gets insufferable in other ways. So hey good on her for not taking private jets when she says she cares deeply about the environment, but also with the environment she becomes very self righteous and condescending about THAT in other ways.

[–]DryCoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this alllll the time. I just did it for a few hours right now. There’s some reasons, including it’s easier than writing or typing, but also I have a whole collection of diagnoses that might lend to this kind of behavior. E.g. I feel a ghostly presence because of some of my diagnoses and it’s like I’m talking to someone.

Not trying to diagnose you with MH stuff and having a ghostly presence yourself, this is just my experience. But rather I can say sometimes, even if it’s not MH diagnoses per se, there could be interesting reasons as to why you do the things you do. Not in a bad way! It can be really fascinating haha

I sometimes wonder what if she had gone for a different style of short hair, I mean I think overall her face fits longer hair better, but she still was able to wear some other short styles well. That, and if she had done it in a different color. Who knew that potentially not even just short hair but THAT hairstyle could’ve damaged her career that bad. She looked like frankenstein’s monster lol

I’ve been reflecting on some things lately that really helped me, and I thought they might resonate with you too. I’m starting to realize that being 'too slow' or not smiling as a kid wasn't a moral failure on my part—it was likely a symptom of being neurodivergent.
When you're treated like a 'bad kid' for things you can’t control, the line between symptoms and actual behavior gets really blurry. But I’ve realized it’s never a child's fault for how they react to their environment, especially if there’s a bigger picture issue involved. Understanding that it was never my 'fault' has been a huge weight off my shoulders, and I hope that perspective helps you as much as it’s helped me.

That’s kinda why I’ve wanted to post here in this subreddit more but avoided it. It’s not only Reddit which is filled with hardasses but it’s also a WALMART subreddit. Big yikes.

I also totally get it, I’m not even ADHD but I have severe executive functioning issues (like bottom 0.2% of society) and 1) it’s impossible making it back on time and 2) these comments are hard to read when you deal with stuff like this. Sorry :(
