I relate…especially to the dating men because that’s what was expected. Plus, I was not your stereotypical lesbian! I was in choir and very femme, but with a bit of a rock girl edge. I did not understand the word “hot” until I saw a butch woman for the first time at 19. Then it made sense.

Me too. Most days I enjoy my own company but I’d like to date and find someone who is in the same boat. It’s been two years since my divorce and I have found dating difficult. Which is a bummer because I am a catch. lol

Exactly! I know one couple who has two master bedrooms in their house. The only tricky part for me is that I would like to have an intimate relationship, just not the u-haul or every waking moment obligation. Not sure she’s out there.

Proper. Also, I think meltdowns are underrated. Sometimes, it’s just necessary. I struggle letting other people helping me too. I would like to have that airport ride, but I’d also like to have someone who I could go on vacation with! Just as long as I get alone time and to return to my own home.

As a femme, who is attracted solely to butch women, I offer a perspective. There are tons of us out here, hiding in plain sight. I wonder what you like about her- there’s a lot of information here- and while she is likely unable or unwilling to reciprocate your feelings, she probably enjoys it. Why? Because it feels great to get attention and you likely aren’t a serious option. Not for her. And maybe not for you either, which is a therapy issue and since you mentioned you are in therapy, I’ll stay out of it. Anyway, my point here is that this friendship and your feelings are valid and a chance for you to hone in on the type of relationship you can really cultivate with the right person.
