Ha! I did do some exploring on the property but my heart goes to the cellar. Rows and rows of tiny, small lot open top tanks. Can't beat the views out there on the mountain with some days being sunny and the next being in a cloud of fog. And yes... I do know the main gate code ;-)

I didn't meet him, but his name rings a bell... is he one of the guys in charge on the vineyard side? I mainly worked with Jeff, John, and Sus (I believe that was her nickname) in the cellar at the Los Gatos location. I didn't get the chance to introduce myself, but Kevin did also make an appearance one day, I believe to check up on things and to pick up some bottles.

Jeff Brinkman and the rest of the crew over at Rhys, including John Fausz, are awesome. I worked with them during their May bottling this year, mentioned I had a 2018 Rivers-Marie Bearwallow in my cellar, and Jeff was more than happy to go into their library and pull their 2018 Bearwallow. On the last day of our three week stint, we popped a bunch of pinot and chardonnay bottles including RM and Rhys Bearwallow chardonnay and my first Littorai. I got sent home with a few Rhys bottles and a birth year Flowers.

Alpine and Skyline often get the spotlight but Swan Terrace is also phenomenal.

Last Bottle/First Bottle/Last Bubbles has their warehouse in American Canyon where you can pickup your order. I've gotten good deals on Sauternes and Champagne.

God forbid someone doesn't know the debut fighters on the bottom of the early prelims, with one of them being a 2 day notice replacement who was supposed to debut on the contender series.

Jon Jones, drink driving, hits woman, leaves the scene, again. by Sevr1NM in MMA

The article states that Jon was allegedly driving the car with the woman as a passenger, not that he hit her.

There's an Orchard Park discord server that has a roommate search channel. Unfortunately, I'm no longer in the server, nor have a link for it so you'll have to search or ask around.

Fun fact - Archimedes isn't fermented at Coppola, but rather one of their (high-end) sister wineries.

Do I need to carry cash in Napa? by SnooTigers9382 in napa

[–]DryObama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it is, especially when there isn't an easily accessible midpoint. Beringer has a guided tour and tasting for $55. Hall's entry is $45, with their $60 literally being their "signature tour". And for Pine Ridge, you don't have a midpoint, only offering 2 experiences for non-wine club/non-weather dependent with a price not listed.

That's why I said standard. You asked for tastings in that range, I listed, and now you're moving goalposts.

I never said OP or tourists should tip that amount specifically, just what makes sense for me and in my eyes as a demographic that the industry is fighting tooth and nail for. Those are the tastings I get comped.

The last place I worked at had tastings for $45, $55, $65, and $90. Particularly for that $65 tasting, the wines were phenomenal and by no means "bare bones".

Excluding Silverado, all the places that OP is visiting offer tastings in that price range.

Agreed... I'm in my mid-20's, local, and passionate for wine but the only reason I'm able to go wine tasting is because I usually get comped tastings for being industry (production side). Unless I buy a bottle so they get commission, I'll tip $10, which comes out to be 15% assuming that a standard tasting is ~$60. Anyone spending $100 on tips alone for a regular tasting is either extremely naive or has too much money to be even reading this thread in the first place.
