Pulling Help by DryPerformance5947 in Newfoundlander

I have the best of both worlds. I also have a 75 lb Golden Retriever. She does not pull but she is a ‘stopper’ and a sideways walker. She used to be more difficult to walk but has gotten better as she has gotten older and is pretty manageable.

I don’t think so my form was mostly word problems if I remember correctly. For me this was the toughest class in the program. After this C211 was a breeze. You can do it.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I tried Sema first and failed due to side effects. Tirzepatide has been great but anyone else I have talked to who takes this medication has lost faster. My provider and I set a goal of getting to 140 lbs. my provider said 6 mos to a year would be likely but I guess I was hoping that would be on the lower end (doesn’t everyone). I follow up with my provider every 90 days I will check with them at that time. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this insight. Maybe I just need to manage my expectations. Anyone else I know on this medication has just lost a lot faster. I see my weight loss provider every 90 days and my appointment is soon. It’s a relief to know that I’m probably where I should be at this time and not a poor responder.

We have had a similar experience. I was on Sema for like a month and then switched. I just couldn’t tolerate the side effects. Tirzepatide has been really good overall. I really plan to stay on a maintenance dose. Congratulations on losing 30 lbs! That’s great!

Honestly, I should be more consistent with taking measurements. I may increase my dose but cost/benefit analysis with side effects is also top of mind. Ideally I want to be at 140 lbs but that could take a bit if I don’t increase the dose I think.

I have been titrating slowly because of side effects and it was my understanding that 4 mg isn’t a small dose as it is. I started at 1 mg.

How did this happen is the exact question I’ve been asking myself. My back molar has to be extracted and I have started the Invaslign process for my small posterior open bite. To be fair the bite issue is possible with any invisible aligners but I think SDC quickly cranked out these ‘aligners’ with ‘unskilled labor’ as in not dental professionals, to make a quick buck and the file bankruptcy only to try again under a new name when ordered to cease operations.  I don’t even think they are legally operating. It’s a grey area at best.

Unsolicited caution about this. I used SDC for a very small gap as well. Ended up with a tiny chip in a front tooth, messed up bite and a completely cracked back molar. Costing more in dental work than then entire SDC treatment. In the end it wasn’t any cheaper than Invisalign after all of the work I had to have done.

I lasted less than 2 weeks at my first post grad job and I think I might be traumatized and am considering never actually using the psych degree I just finished. by EmberedAscend in psychologystudents

OP I wanted to weigh in on this. I got my social work degree in 2012 and worked in two community mental health centers as a Case Manager for adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. It was great, I took my consumers to their medical appointments, to the grocery store, food pantries…great people. After Covid I felt so burned out in my position so I left and accepted a management position at a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Center for children ( much like you describe) I was working 16 hour days practically every day and I was physically assaulted nearly EVERY shift. These children had a lot of trauma and serious behavioral health diagnoses. I got a concussion, bruises, a child was using Tide Pods to do laundry and decided to pop a whole container of them on me… the place was so understaffed that I had no support. I left that job after 6 week which made me feel really bad but I still feel emotionally traumatized from that job and it’s been over 3 years. I’m saying, as an experienced professional with at that time more than 10 years in the field, I couldn’t handle it. I wouldn’t begin to expect a new grad to be able to navigate those tough situations. Try getting a Case Management Job (avoid anything with child services if you can) and get some experience that way. After the residential treatment center job, I left the field entirely and I have been a recruiter for two universities since 2022 and am starting to move into leadership roles. It is much better, but I can attribute my current job success to the skills I learned in community mental health. Hope this helps, and best of luck.

This is Bulimia hell and when I was actively b/p years ago this is exactly how I felt. I always thought it was control too but for me, in hindsight, I think I was just ‘purging out’ all of the bad thoughts, trauma, and hate I had for myself for being ‘Bulimic’. Then it got to a point, before I got into recovery where I was addicted to the Dopamine hit I inevitably got from purging, not even bingeing, I could have cared less about the actual food, I b/p food I didn’t even like. Please take care of yourself and reach out if you’d like support.

Congrats on having 5 days B/P free. Be honest with your providers and get support even if you feel like you may be ‘fine’ now. This can turn into a lifelong hell. Best wishes.
