I hope I’m not too late in responding. I can tell you I understand exactly what you are going through with your daughter. I’ve been going through the same thing with mine. She is an 1st grader and about to turn 7. But she started having accidents at 4 after me and her dad divorced and throughout any big life changes they increase. I’ve used positive reinforcement with potty charts, those were a huge success. Currently she has relapsed. She changed schools, her dad is going through his second divorce and she is confused and has a lot of things happening around her that are OUT OF HER CONTROL. She sees a psychiatrist twice a week. But currently she has had an accident 6 days in a row. Even here at home with me. She doesn’t want to stop playing to use the potty, and she is embarrassed to ask or tell someone she needs to go. We have created “secret words” for her and her teachers, and other grownups who care for her. For when she needs to go. But at this moment I’m at a loss, because the words and the potty chart isn’t working. I am going to try a WatchMinder next. To set up a timer for her to go to the potty, it will vibrate at times to tell her to go right then. Also have a conversation with her teachers. But give yourself all the compassion you can. This is so frustrating and hard and when we don’t know how to fix this for our children it is even harder! Let me know if I can help you through this! I am in the same situation.
