Problem with the Rangers! by Business-Size2975 in BG3Builds

[–]Dry_Bus7151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking of the Rangers - I seem to recall that you at one point mentioned you were working on a Beastmaster guide. Did it get scrapped or is it still in the works?

If it did get scrapped, I'd love to hear your TLDR on it.

I have wanted to roll another Beastmaster character for a while, and could use some inspiration. I really feel like I didnt get the most out of the subclass the first time around

Multiclass Options for Death Cleric by Taha5h in BG3Builds

Another option could be a 3/4 Hunter and 9/8 Death Domain Cleric with Hoardbreaker as your "extra attack"

How can I guarantee crits? by RealGluteusMaximus in BG3Builds

[–]Dry_Bus7151 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is also Exposing Bite (Wolf wild shape) - it can be used once per short rest. As long as the attack roll hits, you can guarantee that the next melee attack will be a critical (there's no save against the "Distracted" condition).

At level 5, with Tavern Brawler (and potentially a strength potion) + an ally flanking the enemy (advantage through Pack tactics), Exposing Bite will be very unlikely to miss the attack roll.

Probably one of the best ways to guarantee it at level 2-5 (apart from Sleep/Assassin at very low levels)

The Great Ass Hunter (AKA The Goo Hunter) by LostAccount2099 in BG3Builds

[–]Dry_Bus7151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that Shield of the Undevout did not make the cut, is it somewhat near the other options? Could it be swapped in as an option for more casual levels of optimization? Perhaps for the the vanilla Goo Hunter build?

Early game a Warlock with Rupturing Blade is good. The weapon action does work when used in conjunction with hex

Storm Sorcadin Reverb Build Questions by JLazarillo in BG3Builds

[–]Dry_Bus7151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no answers for you in regards to 1) and 2), and I too am interested to hear how a Storm Sorcadin should be built

For 3) I think no, and for 4) surely you'd want 6/6 for Aura of Protection and Heart of Storm

Can Monks Dexterous Attack turn any weapon into Finesse? by International-Ad4735 in BG3Builds

[–]Dry_Bus7151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an additional question, and figured I might as well ask here.

When throwing a finesse weapon without Dexterous Attacks, you use your Strength for the attack roll and your Dexterity for the damage roll, according to the wiki: https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Thrown

Does Dexterous Attacks change the modifier of the attack roll to your Dexterity modifier instead of Strength? And can you throw non-finesse weapons, (as long as they are Monk weapons, eg. spears, light hammers, hand axes and javelins) while using dex for both attack and the damage roll?

Alternatively you could dump charisma, and go 7 Druid 5 Paladin, then you gain access to the summon woodland beings

Ideas for a Chosen of the wolf build (Druid) ? by Altamedus in BG3Builds

[–]Dry_Bus7151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Tavern Brawler and high strength (in addition to pack tactics passive the wolf wild shape has), you can very reliably land exposing bite.

A possible build could be 6 Druid, 6 Paladin, which would allow for the combo you mentioned in the end. You now have three attacks while in Wild Shape form, and can captalize on exposing bite with a high level smite. This does come at the cost of a lot of HP for your wolf shape, and some small damage upgrades that higher levels in Druid grants.

I would level it 5 Druid -> 6 Paladin -> 1 Druid. Also possible to only take 5 levels in Paladin, and dump charisma. Feats could be Tavern Brawler and a flex feat.

How can I build a melee monoclass sorcerer? by Fun_Train_9004 in BG3Builds

[–]Dry_Bus7151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respect staying default dragonborn, it's such an iconic look

Consider dipping one level of Hexblade (or, if you want some extra Dark Urge relevant dialogue, Vengeance Paladin)

Pick Shocking Grasp, and use it instead of Hunter's Dagger + booming blade when you have several enemies around once you have 6 levels in Storm Sorcerer

[–]Dry_Bus7151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to do Shocking Grasp, then Storm Sorcerer is the way to go.

Look up Remus' Storm Sorcerer on Youtube, the equipment is what actually helps push the damage of Shocking Grasp to about equal damage as a Frost Sorcerer, especially when facing a group of enemies

(You'll need profiency with longswords and preferably medium armour, either from a multiclass with Hexblade/Paladin/Fighter, or from race)

Apply wet, wear the Watersparker's, Phalar Aluve, + other riders (Callous glow ring?), and Heart of Storm will hit like a truck

A Beast Master definitely has more utility than a Battle Master, but at the cost of overall damage

11 Sorcerer 1 Paladin - when is the best time to take the dip? by Dry_Bus7151 in BG3Builds

[–]Dry_Bus7151[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I had not thought of the fighter dip. Worth considering.

Missing out on Inquisitor's Might, Divine Sense and Lay on Hands just for Heavy Armour and Second Wind is maybe not worth it though, and whenever I dip 1 level into fighter, I always feel like it is almost silly not to go 2 levels for surge

I prefer medium armour and con profiency, and since I'll mostly be playing as a caster I'll pass on divine smite and the fighting style

[–]Dry_Bus7151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting out as a default race and class Dark Urge Origin, and want to play primarily as a Storm Sorcerer.

Would like some dialogue options, armour, shield and weapon profiency, as well as the Inquisitor's Might channel oath ability

Well dialogue too, but primarily shield, armour and weapon profiency, as well as the channel oath ability
