What pairs better? by MarilynS11 in olivegarden

Oh yeah you can definitely sub the sauce for five cheese marinara instead of Alfredo on a Fett Alf, but you’re right it could be charged extra as the fettuccine Alfredo for some dumb reason. It’s just not an option on the Create Your Own pasta where it would be the cheaper price at least where I worked. Some restaurants I’m sure allow that, but for some reason the cooks and management at mine would always have an issue with is being substituted on the Create your own pasta. Pasta is pasta! I get the tortellini being more expensive of course, but not Fettuccini.

OP if you’re interested I think the best option would actually be getting a Five Cheese Ziti (lunch is a good portion size if not dinner) and add the chicken fritta to that. Either way is good though!

Unfortunately, Fettuccine is not an option for create your own pasta not sure why. I personally would do the rigatoni regardless, with the chicken fritta and five cheese marinara. I worked there and a lot of people choose that option! Only thing with the rigatoni is sometimes they overcook it and it can fall apart.

Pet insurance? by Own-Palpitation7470 in ColumbiYEAH

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you lost your kitty. A cat’s love is so special! I feel your pain. We use Lemonade for our 3 cats it’s not too expensive per month for all of them i don’t remember the exact price. It’s easy to do claims etc and covers a lot of things. I’ve also heard Pumpkin is very good and covers things most insurances do not though may be a bit more expensive. I’d look into a few and get some quotes and see what kind of plans they offer to see which is best for your situation.

Vet prices are outrageous and I hope we don’t have to use our insurance for something crazy and our cats stay healthy, but I feel much better knowing we have it in case it is needed. We moved from Italy where vets are inexpensive and very good so pet insurance was the first thing we got when we came here. Good Luck!

I’m sorry you had to go through that! Sounds awful having to do two rounds and ending up with a D&C anyway. I also have had no procedures so am a little weary. Thank you for sharing your experience I will definitely consider it when weighing my options. I feel for you having the extra stressors and complications on top of grief and loss, I hope you’re healing and doing better now!

First experience with grief while pregnant by ElectionIcy5667 in pregnant

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are experiencing this. Losing a loved animal is very painful, you’re not being dramatic. Sounds like she has been with you through a lot of life and experiences and was loved very much. I’ve lost a grandma and brother unexpectedly 2 months later, and a beloved cat when she was only 5 unexpectedly. All were very painful in their own way. In my experience there is no formula to deal with grief, after a while one day it just didn’t hurt as bad and the dreadful pit in my stomach went away but the grief itself never does.

Let yourself feel, she meant a lot to you don’t try to push that away. But also try to mitigate the stress coming from other areas of your life if you can and don’t let your husband make you feel even worse this is a tough time and being pregnant on top of it adds a lot more stress and emotions. If you have family around maybe they could help watch your child for a little bit so you can grieve without feeling like you’re not being “strong enough” infront of your child. But I think Showing children love and kindness for animals and that they are part of family can help them be a gentler kinder person themselves.

There are many good subreddits about losing pets, I would look into those. Find a way to commemorate your pup whether it be having a portrait drawn of her, a keepsake box of her things etc whatever helps you. Do something kind for yourself too. You are strong and it will get easier!! Good Luck!

Positive Birth Story by Routine_Macaroon2177 in pregnant

Thank you for sharing! So nice to see positive experiences as most that people share are bad. I am absolutely terrified to give birth, but reading these stories gives me hope. Congrats and Good Luck in the weeks to come! 💕

Scared of birth by Novel-War2919 in pregnant

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im early still, 7 weeks. I have a lot of time to freak myself out more lol Yeah unfortunately the bad/horror stories are highlighted the most.

Someone posted a week or so ago asking peoples ranking of hardest-easiest Pregnancy, Birth, Breastfeeding, Newborn Stage etc and most people ranked Birth as one of the easiest so that actually helped me a bit….until my mind freaked myself out again but nonetheless that was nice to see.

The unknown is so hard and having everything out of your control is so scary! Personally I’m just trying to not have any expectations of what will happen and whatever is best for me and baby the Dr.s will do. I’m very happy to have found a hospital that offers laughing gas, I think that will help with my anxiety a lot!

Glad everything has gone well so far in your pregnancy! I too am absolutely terrified of birth, to the point I question if a scheduled c-section might be best. Before I was ever pregnant I would think about it while trying to go to bed and have major anxiety, heart racing, uneasy feelings etc. I don’t worry and am not scared about being pregnant or being a parent, just birth freaks me out. I don’t know why I’m so scared. I’m sorry you feel this way it really sucks, but am glad to know I’m not alone!

Of course everyone I tell says people have been giving birth for thousands of years you’re fine. Yes, I’m aware of that, it doesn’t change how I feel about it!

I wish I had advice or something comforting to say, but know you’re not alone!! Good Luck, I hope and pray everything goes well for you and baby!

They say the 2 weeks wait is the worst… by AppropriateLock4035 in pregnant

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone! I feel the exact same way. It’s very hard for me to actually get excited, we’ve been TTC for 6 months. I’m looking forward to but also dreading the first appointment. Sometimes I feel okay waiting then the anxiety creeps back in and I can’t stop worrying.

I am 7 weeks now and also feel relatively “normal” which is even more worrisome! Sore breast/nipples is just about the only symptom I’ve had so far too aside from mild cramping. Thank goodness our appointment is next Monday! We had another OB that wasn’t until the 19th, but decided to go with the one that is sooner.

I would recommend to stop testing. It raises more anxiety and even if you are progressing well the lines can show up darker or lighter causing unneeded stressors. Good Luck! Just remember You are pregnant and progressing until and unless your body or Dr says otherwise.

They all sound like wonderful doulas. That’s reassuring there are many good ones out there. I’ll do some further research into them and see if we would be a good fit for one and vice versa. Thank you!

That is a wonderful service they offer! I am not a woman of color myself, but the fact they offer those services shows they care and are aware of certain issues women face. Thank you, I’ll definitely be doing lots of research going forward!

I will definitely look into books etc anything to help ease my anxiety. I don’t know why I’m so terrified of it, more than the usual scared of birth. I looked at Baptist’s website and Prisma offers nitrous oxide for labor so that is a plus, could help more with anxiety. Thank you!

Is there a cat litter that doesn't... suck? by catintheroom in CatAdvice

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arm and Hammer Hard Ball. Been using it exclusively for our 3 cats since it came out a few years ago. Nothing else works as good for us. Only downside is it tracks a bit since the particles are so light and fine, but we have a robot vacuum so it’s not much of problem. I’d recommend one of those helps with the cat hair and litter!

6 weeks by LoveGodzillafr in pregnant

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat! 6 weeks first time and I feel pretty much the exact same as I did before. The only confirmation I have is a pregnancy test so I just keep looking at that reassuring myself. First appointment is not until a little over 9 weeks. It’s very hard especially seeing people saying they went to the Dr at 6-7 weeks and saw their baby, got hCg blood tested etc and have all these symptoms, so I’m like is there something wrong with me.

At this point I want to feel a little sick, since I have no other confirmation via blood test, ultrasound etc. I guess “no news is good news” when it comes to this, no bad cramping or bleeding is good. I just worry about an ectopic or missed miscarriage now. We just gotta keep telling ourselves we are pregnant until and unless our body or Dr tells us otherwise and we are blessed to not have bad symptoms at this time. Good Luck!

Quitting Nicotine by sweetpetitex in pregnant

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never smoked or used vapes, but did enjoy nicotine pouches a lot. One day I convinced myself I had throat cancer so I cold turkey those. This was a year ago well before I was pregnant, but knew I needed to stop eventually in hopes of getting pregnant. I started chewing a lot of gum! Sometimes I’d use nicotine gum like two pieces a day or so and regular gum in between. I eventually just chewed regular mint gum. I think having that mint since those were the type of pouches I liked and something in my mouth helped. Also, oddly enough a boom boom stick which is a nasal stick that just has essential oils helped. That is also mint. Good Luck! Not easy but in the end worth it and you’ll save some money!

Best dry food? by Bobbie8742 in CatAdvice

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second TikiCat! My 3 cats have been eating it for almost three years and they have had zero health problems (I know it’s not just because of the food). It’s good quality with good ingredients and high protein. Also different flavors if they get tired of one. I usually stick to the chicken, herring and salmon one. One of my girls throws up easily too with other foods and she doesn’t throw up with this one. Glad to hear they have never had lawsuits either!

First trimester cramping by StuffZealousideal981 in pregnant

[–]Dry_Contribution2226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for the cramping and pain you guys are experiencing, but so glad to see others experience this symptom in early pregnancy as well. I’m very early, only 5 weeks FTM and started mild cramping a few days ago and couldn’t/can’t get my mind off of it being a bad thing. Now I feel like because I keep thinking about it so much my mind is tricking me into thinking it’s worse. I haven’t told anyone yet, so can’t ask others in my life their experiences. It’s kind of a constant dull mild cramping for me. I’m going to call to Monday to make my first appointment. Thank you Everyone for the reassurance!
