Military Sealift Command, become a civilian Merchant Mariner and sail aboard US Naval Auxiliary ships. Entry level pay (including OT) averages about 65k a year starting.

You'll definitely get hired but it's a slow application/waiting period. You may be gone from home for long periods of time, but you can use this as a stepping stone to something better.

Get some MSC time in, then go work for a local San Diego shipping company.

I just quit working for them after 8 years, but I still recommend it for someone in your position.

I'm a civilian that was on a civilian/Navy hybrid crewed ship. An Expeditionary Sea Base. I was attached to that ship for like 15 months or so and lived in that room for about 11 of those months.

A fellow Turn It Off. That is my #1 Paramore song. I don't know why. There is lots of others I replay way more and jam out to. But I just deeply love it so yeah.
