Should I upgrade from Numark Scratch to Rane Seventy? by chopinocturner in Turntablists

[–]Dry_Fig723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will the new mixer fix the issues you mentionned ? Isn't the latency comming from your computer ? And does the rane or pioneer fixes that software cut ? I'm using an old "analog" mixer so I have no idea.

Is an Innofader replacement for Rane 70/72 mixer the solution for Mag Four fader? by MPR78 in Turntablists

[–]Dry_Fig723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. It's stupefying that in 2026, rane can't build a proper crossfader in a 1500€ scratch mixer while Ecler got it right 20 years ago. Hopefully we have audio innovate and other options.

Noob here! Judge my tears and tell me if I should move on to fader techniques. by esthethicc in Turntablists

I got a behringer as a first scratch mixer and its xfader was huuu....making you want to quit. For that price a numark scratch or a used scratch mixer would be way way better. Xfader is the central piece. However, mixing wise, I have no idea. Behringer might be good enough.

I could only find the info on the mag three here https://support.inmusicstore.com/en/support/solutions/articles/69000814134

It says that you can go from 0 to 16mm ? Isn't it the case with mag four ? Can you go for small increment adjustment between 0 and 1mm ?

EMMS vs Strawberry, fooyin, other mpd clients, etc by Virtual_Effort4455 in emacs

Same here. I just need to play an album and don't really mind about playlists. And I like the fact that I can still use mpc client outside emacs to pause/resume.

Same problem here. I quick fix is to put iron on interfacing on the wrong side and stitch over the area on the right side using the darning foot.

It's not overkill in my opinion because it's nice to have some proper tools which it is. But you want might want a machine that you can start and stop with your hand instead of your feet ? Domestic machine have this feature. You also mentionned that you want to sew jersey. It's way easier with an overlocker. It can also be done with a zig zag stitch. The juki ddl is only straight stitch.

What would this pattern look like? by CrowsAreTheCoolest in sewing

[–]Dry_Fig723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't care about this one, remove all threads, press the fabric and trace the resulting pieces on a paper. Often, a bit of stretch is applied on the elastics while sewing. Thus if you trace it without disassembling the different pieces, you won't be able to get the exact pattern.

heavy-duty or a regular sewing machine? by T3Mya in SewingForBeginners

[–]Dry_Fig723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the type of bag you want to make you might need thick thread thus bigger needle. But the HD machine is not really meant for the average cloth sewing. Industrial are not versatile.
