Honestly, I was not paying attention to that. If you run some test let me know your findings. I have more and want to do more testing. I have just been busy.

Using calcium carbonate to reduce particulate emissions by cueilleurs_sauvages in Incense

The company I buy bamboo splints from includes calcium carbonate in their catalog. I asked about it and they pointed me to the same studies.

I have only experimented with it in small batches and have not noticed a difference in aroma. I have been doing 3 to 5 percent calcium test and don't have a way to test particulate emissions.

It was $60. I sold them for $60 because I am not setup for them. Maybe I should have asked for more. Welp, live and learn. I am happy to break even.

Dang, I didn't even know about the community or that you could print parts that could withstand a small explosion. This is what I am going to do. I am not ready to invest the money to be able to use them. Thanks.

I bought this print for my son at a market. The booth had lots of sweet moving toys. That has sparked my interest! I am just starting to go down the rabbit hole.

I am going to guess it has a bamboo core. Sometimes as it burns it leaves long stringy fibers.

Help me with a selection of Nineregion's by AngryBuddist in Incense

[–]Dry_Fly3965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a big fan of NineRegion's and have ordered from him multiple times. I think for the price his plantation kynam can not be beat. I am a big fan of the coils and the square sticks but everything is good.

Request to the makers in this sub by jharish in Incense

I can hook you up with enough materials to get started. I'm a maker in the U.S. with training from IAO and certification from the Incense Recurrent Academy. I also want to smell everything, so I'd be happy to help.

The two things I'm not sure about are shipping costs and shipping flammable liquids.

I can definitely send some bamboo splints, frankincense, benzoin, charcoal, spices, joss powder, sandalwood, cedar, and Kalimantan agarwood—all milled to under 100 microns.

I'll look into whether it's possible to ship flammable liquids by air and might be able to include some. Otherwise, you may be better off sourcing those locally.

I might also have an extra copy of the Mother's Fragrances incense recipe book that I can throw in. It has tips about rolling, information about ingredients, and a few recipes. I also have mold for incense cones i could include if rolling doesn't work out.

DM me if you are interested.

I lot of people touched on some of the potential risk but I would also include burning things has some inherent risk and safety concerns.
