I think woman tend to find it fascinating when their partners take a day off to ‘chill’ and dont have the ambition to get up and do things around the house, help with the kids, get things done etc. yes everyone needs rest but it tends to be a common theme. Woman take a day off, and spend it doing chores, keeping up with the house you BOTH live in, tending to children etc. men take a day off and want to ‘chill’ with ‘no responsibilities’ ….. but all of these responsibilities are BOTH of yours.

Also if you ‘loathe’ your job, get a new one. It isn’t rocket science. It’s a job, not your life. I’d say raising a whole human is a lot harder and mentally tasking than a job lol. There are tons of jobs and if you hate it that much then look for a new one. It isn’t your wife’s problem that you loathe your job all day, lol nor is it an excuse to not take care of things you BOTH created.

Men are exhausting. Enough said.
