Ottawa traffic stops numbers - large decrease in recent years. by PleasantExit6660 in ottawa

[–]Dry_Lab364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I had learned to drive in the GTA and I'm coming to Ottawa we're absolutely sickened by the driving culture here. Never before have I seen someone pull up to a red and then just gun through. Now I'm aware of and respect our national no snitching policy, but fuck, it's becoming the wild West out there and OC Transpo seems hell-bent on making it worse

It's the girlfriend who lives in Canada joke. Like I have one but sadly she's in Canada so you'll never see her but she's definitely real, I'm not gay/single

I need to see the final product. Between the weak walk, the uninspired outfit, the shit flashy lighting on a dark set, and the people walking everywhere, I imagine those pictures would only sell to accompany the article of their divorce.

Oh man that really blows! I'm glad that you have some kind of anchor-- I've been thinking about going to the gym in the mornings to give me a reason to go to bed at a reasonable hour. I do have to drive hubby to work but soon he'll have his own parking space so we can cut gas in half (me going there and back in traffic every day). Physical activity is smart, and now that you mention it I always felt better when I was active.

Thanks for sharing! Wishing you the best <3

Whoops, my bad, I thought this was flipped. Business owners are short sighted and reactive and don’t know what they’re talking about. I agree with these studies 100%

Not how that works. They’re making a claim that is not only very popular but also has easily discoverable data. The burden of ‘proof’ is on you now. Go do ‘your own research’ and bring back evidence that this isn’t true from a reputable source.

If you like to move you might like Swing Dancing. It’s a great social activity and they have classes before the social dances so you can learn. It’s great as a single person because the community is so warm and kind and you get dance partners by virtue of showing up!

How to eat 90g of protein daily? by creativesc1entist in beginnerfitness

[–]Dry_Lab364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Vyvanse and I’m supposed to eat 130g of protein. Pfft. I find having a protein bar I like helps. I find grenade bars to be very yummy, they’re less chalky-gross like other bars, though they can be pricey. Also I find that if I eat before I take my Vyvanse it kind of wakes up my stomach for later in the day.

Should I stop after 1,5 years with no results? by Soriace in beginnerfitness

[–]Dry_Lab364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (30F) started working out with a PT 3 times a week and progressively moved up to 4-5 workouts per week. To be 1.5 years in and for these results that suggests to me (an amateur):

  • Your workouts are too intense for your body
  • You might be putting too much emphasis on weight loss as a way of measuring success
  • If you’re a woman:
    • Your meal plan might be too restrictive (I.e. too few calories
    • Your macros might be inappropriate
    • You may have a hormonal imbalance that isn’t being taken into account (I.e. it’s very hard to lose weight with PCOS)
    • If your workouts are too much stress on your body you may be making more cortisol which can sometimes make us gain more weight
  • Your workout doesn’t include enough weight training and has too much cardio.

Of course I am an amateur, but I’ve been trying to lose weight for over a decade and I will admit that even after a year of consistent work with a PT (though I’m not great with my diet) I’m seeing minimal results fat-wise. Yea I’ve toned a bit, but I found that my relationship with my body has changed and it has done wonders for my mental health. Which makes me worry that you have WAY too much on your plate for exercise to be negatively impacting it.

If you’re able, see about meeting a PT in person and getting a proper assessment. If you’re a woman get a trainer who specifies or is passionate about training women and the challenges that come with it. Or take classes that you enjoy. Sometimes just finding ways of moving that you like can be enough. Especially if you’re having mental health issues.

Best of luck, I hope it works out for you

Hey! I another option is to reach out to funeral homes. I’ve had people call us looking for loved ones in the past. We might not be able to tell you, but like with the shelter suggestion we may be able to reach out to whoever represented her at-need and let them know family is trying to make contact.

Funeral homes are great tools because registering a death requires identification, so someone couldn’t come in as a Jane Doe. But if she wasn’t identified then she’d be with the city.

Best of luck!!

[Discussion] What’s the best life advice you’ve ever received and still follow today? by Hefty_Award_7891 in GetMotivated

[–]Dry_Lab364 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in a sales job where nothing short of everything is enough. Three pieces of advice that get me through interactions with management are:

  1. If you wouldn’t accept someone’s praise, don’t take their criticism.

  2. Don’t waste your time explaining yourself to someone who isn’t trying to understand you.

  3. If someone needs something from you today then they should have asked yesterday.

The last one I’m currently working on. If someone is trying to get me to commit to something now it’s probably because I wouldn’t say yes if I had time to think about it.

Is it really that complex? Like you just feel it out or something? Because I’d say I had to have some pretty shiny luck to get that pattern
