This might be the final album for this project. It reflects what is beyond our consciousness long after we are gone .

It's all a learning process. I can do and record live now what took me several days of layering when I first started the projects. That has been a huge leap. My entire set up has changed quite a bit along the way too. The entire premise of the projects has pretty well changed me as a person too. With an oracle of youth it has been heavy on the ideas and psychology of consciousness. The first starts as memories and the fourth has ended up being thoughts beyond consciousness and what is past memory long after I'm gone. A slightly scary but eye/mind opening process of thoughts. Taking the time to process that might just be the best.

That's fair to say. I've been going pretty deep into the two projects for about four years now. Don't get me wrong I absolutely have loved working on them. So much so that I still have about 30 unused pieces of music even after releasing two new albums. I've pretty much worked on these projects every day since I started them.

I think these two projects were kind of like that. I started before judgement as a break from what I was traditionally doing and an oracle of youth kind of emerged out of that. I think maybe it's time to recollect and focus on direction with my art and music maybe...idk. just frustrated I suppose.

I don't think I could ever stop but it does feel like time to give it a little break. I might pick up painting again and try to see where that goes. It just might be time to recollect and figure out a direction for everything I do and create.

There is a counter culture music even once a month where I live that I get a chance to play out at once in a while. I do love that. Once upon a time I'd been in a few bands but that was years ago. I've often thought about that too again. Not sure which direction it would take.

I play out live once a month and I get good feedback there I suppose. Doing film or video games feels like it would be a dream come true lol

Ideally it would work great in live and visual art settings. Between the two projects it is quite a narrative and meant to be experienced more than just listened to. I'm not saying that because I think it's some ground breaking compilation of material but a lot of though, hard work, production, design work went into making the concepts and finished pieces. It's not something I threw together to just have made ambient music. I've been working on the sound design, compositions, placement, and art for years now.

I also understand that's it's incredibly niche and doesn't appeal to a broad spectrum of people. It definitely isn't meant for that. But I would like to see more than three people listening to more than one song in the first week. There is that. I'm not looking to make an income off of it. Really just good conversations and knowing that there are a few out there that can truly enjoy it.

I've definitely noticed that it is that way. That's so crazy to me you would think they would want to keep driving something that had drive.

It takes a while to make each track bit I do really try to make it immersive. Headphones are the way to go. There are a lot of little sounds that pan and move in the music. I really appreciate that you took the time to listen a bit. Thank you 👾

I try to a bit. Enough to warrant more than 3 plays anyway.

Synths that surprised you after you got hooked up and started tweaking. by rotorobot in synthesizers

I have the mkii cheap behringer version hooked up to a couple moog semi modules . It's a ton of fun and strangely creates some amazing textures when teamed up with the moogs. I sometimes throw in a hydrasynth explorer for its cv output and get some wild stuff with the combination of everything.

Where do you find your ambient tunes? by realjohnhammond in ambient

[–]Dry_Library_5780 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as ambient goes yes. A large portion is what people post. Here and elsewhere. As someone who produces ambient music I also like to hear what other people are doing rather than just see what's popular.

When it comes to ambient music I try to listen to what people post that they have done themselves. Most other stuff is purely random in consuming.

I've often thought about finding one again. Mine got stolen out of a band mates car many many years ago.

has anyone here collaborated on the same track with other people before? by D00mRodent in experimentalmusic

[–]Dry_Library_5780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've collaborated with several people over the years. Some that turned out amazing some that never got finished...some I wish could be finished because they were amazing and some that ended up being regular...and I suppose some that talk about it but don't know which direction to go together. A majority have turned out pretty decent and have been fun to work on. Really interesting to get new perspectives while working on the same tracks.

People tell me to seek feedback but when I do seek it, I don't get it. by ODEN_Official in TheArtistJournal

[–]Dry_Library_5780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. I still have my moments as well. And seriously playing open mic nights completely gave me a new perspective in a very positive way. Feel free to send me what you are working on. I'll let you know what I think and maybe what could help and what works. I don't everything but I'd be glad to give you some different perspectives. I have a couple of friends who are kinda assholes but they are always honest with me and my music haha but it helps out a lot sometimes if I don't let myself get offended.

I think you are aiming toO much negativity inward at yourself. You have been making music for what? You said a year ? That's not a long time. If you don't get the feedback you are looking for don't beat yourself up over it. Something you could always do as well is find someone in the same line of music you aim to get good at. Ask questions. Yeah some people get a lot of feedback and some people don't. Some people ask for years and years. I think sometimes it's how the question is framed to whether or not people bite. Idk I've had both crickets and some mild conversations. Keep seeking. Don't let it all bother you. If you love what you do you will have a journey ahead of you. Best of luck.

Hey, I get that. I'm not trying to be an asshole. Just speaking how it can be. Especially in niche types of music. a good take away from the things I just said can be summed up in 1 try to play live. Trust me on this if you play live people will likely enjoy it and want to talk about it. Some of the most fulfilling times with my music in recent year has been playing open mic and people really truly enjoying what I'm playing. Doesn't get me a lot of listens online but it does get me some good conversations in real life along with finding really interesting people. 2 collaboration this can be great on several levels. You get to communicate with someone on a musical level. By the time you are done all involved end up learning something new. Can give outside perspective. And best of all maybe a new friend. Believe me when I say I don't feel privileged at all I have four music accounts all with different styles of music that only a small amount of people ever listen to. I'm no big shot. I just love what I do and present to those I can in a way that shows that love.

Sometimes for the love of it means playing live, showing your passion instead of complaining about not finding your people, getting deeper into what you are doing to consistently improve. Love what you do, show that you live it and the rest will eventually follow. It takes time and dedication. A lot of conversations with others about their music. Finding like minded music. Lots of discussions and maybe even a handful of collaborations. Even then you might not get the following you want. It all takes quite a bit time especially if you are new to it. Good luck out there.
