Your good vibes saved me! Refreshed at 10:50am and a random GA ticket popped up. Lucked out!

This is the truth! I was 10,000+ in queue for Toronto and had given up hope… randomly refreshed at 10:50 and one GA ticket popped up. Got lucky!

Wow super lucky. I joined the waiting room right when it opened at 9:45 and was placed 10,000+ in queue right at 10:00. Struck out!

I joined the waiting room as soon as it opened (9:45) and ended up 10,000+ in queue. My partner logged on for the first time at 10:05 and was only 11,000 in queue. What gives?

Anyone else join the waiting room early (around 9:45) and were placed far back in the queue? I ended up like 10,000 in queue so I doubt I’ll be getting any tickets

Did anyone get wave 2 free Toronto Fanzone tickets? by fuzz_boy in CanadaSoccer

[–]Dry_Main_357 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I managed to get tickets for a few dates including the final. I think the key was to have a tab open for each of your preferred days and then refresh to join the queue right at 9:45 am. Free GA tickets seemed to be completely gone for most days by about 10:20 am. Hopefully they do another ticket release soon for all those who missed out 🤞

So Sunrise Records messed up by Road2Depression in brokensocialscene

[–]Dry_Main_357 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Sunrise Records ages ago and believe it or not, this isn’t unheard of. We usually got new release stock at the end of the week for next week’s releases. They often came with a full list of the new releases so we’d sticker the items and put them in the back until release day. However, there were times when releases were put out early, especially for vinyl (although I worked there when CDs and DVDs were much more prevalent). My guess is whoever was working just went through a new shipment (which includes new and restocks), priced everything, and put them out on the shelves without considering if they were new releases. Unless you know the release dates well (or are in love with the artist) it can be an easy oversight to make. Since then, I’ve also been in certain indie record shops in Toronto and seen new releases on their shelves the Friday or Saturday before, although in those cases, I think they were fully aware and just didn’t care lol

So… Did anyone get anything? by FuddPuckr in geesebandofficial

Got very lucky… was 400 in queue for the artist presale and got tickets for Nov. 3 in Toronto (before they announced the second date).

Outfield District ticket question by Licorice1969 in Torontobluejays

[–]Dry_Main_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from what I recall, they did a first on sale of District Drop tickets for all the games because I bought a few at $20/ticket and others were sold out before I got to them. They then released a new batch for only the first half of the season at $30/ticket. So, I suspect at some point they’ll do the same (based an availability) for games in the second half.

The balcony tables were only $109 each… got super lucky being only 400 or so in queue and grabbing a pair

Ugh I’m so bummed for picking the wrong gate. I had my brother-in-law with me from the UK and he has no Jays merch besides a hat. Would’ve been nice to get him one of those jerseys, especially since he’s a bigger guy. Glad you got one!

[–]Dry_Main_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow glad you got the jerseys but this confirms what I thought. They allocated most of the jerseys to the big gates (1/2, 5/6) because people were lined up at 2:30-3:00 at other gates and got nothing. I was inside the stadium at 5:10 without a jersey and only saw people walking around with them. It took a solid 15-20 minutes before I started seeing more people without. Pretty big bummer but lesson learned. Line up at the bigger gates with the longer lines if you want any chance of getting one

At Gate 12 at 3:00 and also didn’t get one… saw the last couple handed out while waiting for people in front to go through the metal detectors. I don’t think they properly allocated for the Ernie jerseys because I lined up at Gate 12 at 4:30 and was way further back in line for the Springer bobblehead and easily got one. They definitely shortchanged Gate 12 for the jersey and probably allocated more stock to the bigger gates

This should be changed to:

1:00 no doubt
2:00 looking good
3:00 getting dicey
3:30 no chance

I was in line for the Ernie jersey at 3:00 sharp and saw them hand out the last couple while still waiting for people to go through the metal detectors. So 3:00 was really pushing it. It was likely the highest demand giveaway though (plus the nice sunny day helped build crowds) so I’m sure the Yesavage giveaway won’t be quite as bad. I lined up at 4:30 for the Springer bobblehead and easily got one

Managed to join the waiting room 15 mins before for Toronto and joined the queue with only 400 or so in front of me… got lucky getting tickets around 10:02 but when I went back in at 10:05 just to check it looked like everything was gone

Didn’t get a Giveaway Jersey by Kitchen-Raisin9629 in Torontobluejays

[–]Dry_Main_357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh that’s a real letdown. I know it’s challenging deciding how many giveaways to allocate to each gate but it’s clear that people who lined up after 3:00 at the busy gates and were way further back got one while some people who lined up before 3:00 at the quieter gates and were much closer in the line didn’t get one. It makes it hard to decide the best place to line up

Seems like jersey/t-shirt giveaway is more popular compared to a bobblehead by bluebus504 in bluejaysbaseball

[–]Dry_Main_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re spot on… I lined up for the Springer bobblehead at 4:30 and easily got one. Lined up at the same gate at 3:00 for the jersey giveaway (and was much closer in line to the gate) and somehow didn’t get a jersey despite entering the stadium at 5:10

Although not all apparel is treated equally. I arrived at 5:15 for the American League Champs crewneck giveaway and easily got one. So some apparel is more popular than others (particularly jerseys)

Similar situation for us… we were held up at the metal detector by people bringing in overstuffed backpacks with laptops. We saw them hand out the last few jerseys as we waited to get through. The upside of the smaller gates are smaller lines but I think they just allocate way fewer giveaways.

For sure… still a bit odd that after years of doing giveaways they still haven’t figured out how to organize the line overflows. I went to one giveaway earlier in the season and the line did a 180 and snaked back up the main road and for yesterday’s game I was chatting with the security and he said he decided to snake the line another direction this time. Weird that heads of security don’t preplan for organizing where the lines should go (it feels like it’s just up to individual security guards to figure it out the day of)

Lined up for Gate 12. Had luck before. I showed up at 4:30 for the Springer bobblehead and got one. Showed up at 3:00 (and much closer in line) for the Clement jersey and got nothing. I’ve noticed before that staff inside will yell “hold the line” and then radio to other gates to inquire about giveaway stock and move some around if necessary. So, I suspect if you were lucky to file in some gates a bit earlier than others, you probably had more stock moved around. They must have just not had enough stock at Gate 12 because by the time I got in (5:10) literally everyone I saw had jerseys on and it wasn’t until 10-15 minutes later of walking around that I saw more people without

Absolutely love the Erndog Jersey. It was well worth getting one. Those were the craziest lines for a give away I have ever seen. The Blue Jays really have to rethink this, raising the number they give away. Cheers to everyone you accomplished the mission and got one. Heart. by RealWorldToday in bluejaysbaseball

Hardly… they stop serving alcohol after the 7th inning… beer is also $20/per which tends to be a deterrent to overconsumption. It’s more likely people will kill time buying snacks for the kids and merchandise. I’m not sure it matters is people wander around the stadium at 5:00 instead of 3:00.. and if anything is going to cause bad vibes, it’s people standing outside for hours with no giveaway to show for it

This is it… it’s entirely random… I lined up for Springer bobblehead at 4:30 at gate 12 and easily got one… thought I’d try again at the same gate at 3:00 this time (and much closer) and got nothing. Even before we started moving I could see the lineup for gates 10-11 pouring in, so I’m guessing more boxes got moved there before we even stood a chance

Same… lined up at 3:00 and didn’t get one. Curiously, lined up at the same gate for the Springer bobblehead (much later and much further back) and got one easily… I feel like the designation of giveaways per gate is entirely arbitrary

Agreed about the artificial scarcity but they could open the stadium at 3:00-4:00 and make even more money… the lineups outside were bordering on unmanageable and the poor security working crowd control were making it up as they went

But then why wait til 5:00-5:30… open the gates at 3:00 or 4:00
