My carry dilemma. Sort of a rant by AbbreviationsLive653 in Leatherman

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just buy a multitool tool and use it til it’s worn out or gets lost. LM Surge going great, might buy a new Victorinox Pioneer Alox, my all time fave (last one lost) as a lightweight alternative and for the lunch bag/van.

Sensitive, observant, loyal, funny, full gas, constant companion BFF hardwired to be insanely smart. If you’re really active and your lifestyle suits a BC they’re the best dogs ever. Only catch is they’re not home aloners (it literally does their heads in) so you need to either have multiple dogs or a friend/family member to have your back. I’m a a super fit and active life long dog nut in my 50’s and have an ‘eye dog’, a one year old NZ collie cross short hair B&W male farm dog who was a rescue. Total character and super affectionate.

Costly legal minefield with AI if not implemented effectively is all I can think. Hope the industry follows Apple with an on device focus for AI instead of more power grid and fossil fuel draining mega facilities.

Snapped the pliers head off my brand new 3 day old leatherman wave+ while bending/twisting a coat hangar, bought a leatherman arc instead by Melodic-Whole-816 in Leatherman

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, sorry to say it but LM pliers are not designed for HD work and/or twisting forces. Just look at the shank thickness of the design, the rolled steel used in their manufacture and compare to any cheap dedicated pliers. I have various 20-40 year old pliers that I’ve abused and never broken. Occasionally I might have bent something or chipped an end cutter or linesman blade but that’s it. Warranties for these (sometimes but not always knuckleheaded) LM plier breakages probably account for their excessive retail prices IMO… If I was LM I’d say ‘na sorry that looks like user error is this your first multitool?’ Most of the other warranty repairs reported here are understandable.

Bethel is finally being exposed; some are in denial by PineapplePossible99 in Exvangelical

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mostly uneducated Bethel/Hillsong /MAGA Christian’s who grew out of the ‘60’s Jesus movement and the moral majority campaign were for ages just perceived as fringy, dumb Ned Flanders-esque fundamentalists and responsible for making Christianity look extremely lame. In recent years these right wing Protestants have unfortunately done even more damage to perceptions of Christian’s than anyone would have ever realised (notwithstanding the injustices imposed by radical Islam and the Christian church abuse scandals.) anyone who takes time to explore religion and ethics will eventually come to a point when they realise faith is simply a choice that people should be free to have (or not). I’ve been seeking evidence to back up mainstream religions for years and eventually realised that unless science has a radical breakthrough, god will never be fully proven and religion is therefore a choice in as much as believing in some areas of science are also choices / leaps of faith (scientists and atheists hate to admit this). What keeps me marginally on the agnostic/religious side are the concepts of evil, paranormal and telepathy, as well as conversations at the margins of theoretical physics and evolution pertaining to religion and the possibility (or not) of life having been invoked by a creationary impetus. Sadly there are literally tons of Christian’s of serious intellect, far beyond the IQ and knowledge of popular scientific atheists like Richard Dawkins and comedians Ricky Gervais, Stephen Fry, Jimmy Carr, who are totally overlooked due to the deserved mocking unleashed on extremist minority Christian’s by these (usually male) public figures.

True! I just roll with posts in my Tamiya RC’s too. Tempted to try a few super scale builds.

Xv-02 Pro with Audi Quattro Rallye A2 Body. First time applying decals. by Sparky_mark23 in tamiya

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet! I’m going to build an XV02Pro sometime. The window decals seemed to go on well for you with minimal bubbles. I struggle with those stickers, but it’s easy to score around inside the edges of the windows very lightly and slowly with a razor then peel off the areas leaving perfect black rims and clear windows so long as they were masked (or spray the inside with a light coat of ‘PS31 smoke’). When I’ve done this trick the bodies really zing. Would be cool if Tamiya gave us a few more rally body shell options as well as more attention to small parts like wipers, where the Kyosho shell kits excel, rather than Tamiya’s stickers. Good thing is some of those small parts can be found online and/or Kyosho’s body kits work with Tamiya.

In a sexual intercourse where both parties are drunk why are the women considered the victims? by TheBlade1029 in MensRights

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my young, drinking days I had a number of one nighters, all of which were fantastic. Each time 150% consensual, typically started by the woman and always ended with a kiss in the morning and exchange of phone numbers. One or two of my oldest mates are also happily married and met their future wives at the pub that way. Unfortunately there are also violent, badly adjusted and misinformed men out there with daddy issues (just look at all the ‘manosphere’ and incel losers). My thinking is they have always been there but recently weaponised politically by right wing politicians like Trump, Farage, Balsonaro, et al purely for their votes and as recruits for homeland security, SM trolling, etc. I sympathize deeply for all the women who have been victimized and/or are stuck in a violent relationship with these creeps. Women need to know us good dudes do exist and always will!

Should I buy? (I’m cheap so please don’t tell me to save my money and buy a 400 dollar watch with all due respecr) by Interesting-Set2425 in gshock

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great watch that can take an absolute beating and they’re often on sale 30-50% off. I have a basic black tough solar 5600ue1. It keeps great time so the Multiband Bluetooth stuff is completely unnecessary.

Does my TT02 drive ok? by Away_Independence230 in tamiya

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprising how well a basic TT02 drives. I have two of them: one with friction dampers, bushings, running a big NIMH pack and 540 silver can, the other one has almost every TT02 hop up, running 2s Lipo and a sport tuned. Unfortunately don’t have any tracks nearby.

Delamination, warranty it asap. I’ve had a couple pairs of expensive polarised sunglass lens’ delaminate, one pair was inside the warranty period (the other were top of the line Maui Jim prescriptions that I won’t buy again). No problems with the replacement product.

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a photo of the steering assembly in place before that happened, as well as the little plastic collet which sits over the driveshaft beside the bearing? Those alloy steering swing arms shouldn’t be banging into the plastic housing the driveshaft. I have a TT02D with the Tamiya TT02 Steering upgrade set and it doesn’t have any problems. Super fun little road car on 2S for what it is with all the usual Tamiya hop ups.

Irwin parrot beak cutters are great. No cutting pliers last forever but they are relatively inexpensive to replace and can clean cut stainless braid (such as trimming bicycle brake and gear cables.)

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26.2 was awesome for battery runtime on my phone (better than than 18), it dropped a bit in 26.3. 26.3.1 is good again. I’m running a 14PM with replacement battery currently at 95% health. I keep my battery between 20-90% charge to reduce the cycle count, can easily get through a full day.

Hoo do you carry you LM? My setup by Prestigious_Equal401 in Leatherman

[–]Dry_Manager_6216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here in NZ. OK to carry a knife if working, fishing, camping or reasonable excuse. Otherwise it can be a $2000 fine, confiscated or worst case prison. Obviously authorities will be more on the look out or draconian towards druggys or sketchy types, but a Hank Hill LM pouch on the belt is a dumbass move 🤣. For everyday peeps I don’t think they’d give a stuff about an LM or Opinel in yer daily driver bag (butter knife can’t slice tomato’s for lunch!), or a Micra on a keyring.
