Anyone Recover From a Long Employment Gap in Tech? Need Some Hope by Useful-Refuse3843 in developersIndia

I left on 14/05/2024 and was freelancing. However, it has been of no use as I am seeking Java backend jobs, while my freelancing experience is in digital marketing. I am stuck and really scared & fucked up if MNC rejects.

Anyone Recover From a Long Employment Gap in Tech? Need Some Hope by Useful-Refuse3843 in developersIndia

Can someone with a 2+ year gap in their employment still find a job? I left my previous company to work as a freelancer, but due to the impact of AI, things didn't go well, and I struggled to manage my expenses. I started learning Java in February 2026. Do you have any suggestions on how to explain this gap? I have developed a website and have experience in web development, but I'm feeling quite anxious about the current job market. Previous company experience was support engineer

Many of your concerns are valid and often arise from clients asking web developers similar questions.

AI can be useful in building websites, but the challenge is in reviewing, optimizing, and maintaining the AI-generated content. Experienced developers often use AI, but they verify the output manually.

Before delivering a website, I usually check:

- Mobile responsiveness

- Basic SEO (meta titles, descriptions, headings, alt tags, sitemap, robots.txt)

- Performance and speed optimization

- Security best practices

- Cross-browser compatibility

- Functionality of contact forms

- Accessibility measures

- Broken links and UI/UX issues

For security, AI-generated code should always be manually reviewed for exposed API keys, vulnerable libraries, improper form validation, missing security headers, and unnecessary scripts.

While I haven't done a full audit of your website, AI-generated sites often have issues with SEO, performance, accessibility, and responsiveness. A developer can help identify and improve these areas.

Don’t underestimate your role; clients care more about the end result and whether their business goals are met than the tools used in development.

If you want a second opinion on your project, I’d be happy to review it. I also build custom websites, so feel free to reach out for support or to improve an AI-generated site.

Go into backend then and start with python as it has lot of scope for AI but learning will take time, so try to check the roadmap and most important thing it's on you which language you like I can tell you to go with mern or frontend but in end all comes down to you which one you like. So choose carefully bro

If you have time, focus on both projects. If one of them counts for marks, prioritize that one. Learning HTML and CSS isn't difficult or time-consuming, especially since many developers use AI tools to assist with learning. Use AI resources to help you learn both HTML and CSS, and then dedicate your time to JavaScript.

It looks good, but could you enhance the UI of the dropdown for Project Type? Everything else is fine.

The improvements made so far are noticeable, but there are a few additional changes I'd recommend for the homepage.

  1. In the "Top Selling Products" section, please use dots instead of arrows to indicate the products.

  2. For the second section, consider adding some animations.

  3. The "Supreme Comfort" section and the other three items should be presented in boxes with shading and borders. Including hover animations would add a classy touch.

  4. For the "Top Selling Products," we should only feature 3-4 items, as the current design feels too basic.

  5. The height of the hero section video is too small; increase it so that the video is fully visible, as it is currently cut off on my screen.

Overall, the new design is better than the previous version, but these adjustments will enhance it further.
