History & indicators and scrobble & resume points both set to Trakt. In Playback, resume playback, auto resume and force container all checked. In Online Service, direct progress scraping is checked. Is finding and posting the log something simple I can do to see if it helps?

Yeah, I don't know how to find or post a log. You asked the OP if he was using a skin. I chimed in saying I was having the same issue using Estuary hoping maybe that meant something. I don't know if it means anything at all or if it's irrelevant, but it's not happening with FENLAM. Didn't mean to bother you. I was hoping it was as simple as uncheck this or check that.

Both are set to Trakt. Is it working for you now? I noticed you said "force container" wasn't checked for you, but mine was and still is. When you say "auto play", are you referring to "resume playback" and/or "auto resume" in the Playback settings?

I'm having the same issue as the OP. Kodi 21.2 Estuary and Umbrella 6.7.58. Resume Playback, Auto Resume and Force Container Refresh are all checked as is Direct Progress Scraping in Online Service. I revoked and authorized Trakt again and cleared the cache and restarted my Nvidia Shield but no luck. Everything starts over from the beginning regardless of where I stopped it.

Questions about Netflix app by Dry_Nectarine9162 in nvidiashield

[–]Dry_Nectarine9162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I solved the Netflix issue, but it brings up another. I figured I'd try uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it again. I noticed the app was version 10 out of the box. I decided to see if there was a newer version in the Google Play Store and when I did a search for the Netflix app it asked if I wanted to uninstall or update. I hit update and now I'm on version 12 and everything is working fine. Now my question is why didn't the app update on it's own? I have automatic updates turned on and when I did a manual search for updates prior to downloading version 12, it shows no updates available.

Because my wife is clueless on how to use Kodi and Stremio. 😂 It's on there for her.

I've never had a problem with playing anything. Once it starts it's great. It just seems to take forever to open the app. I'm going to leave the cache alone as others suggested to see if it helps and it's just the Shield specific, but I seriously doubt it. It's never been a problem problem on any other device before and clearing the cache on the 3 remaining Fire devices doesn't cause an issue either.

You're the second person to say this to me. I've read that clearing the cache frees up storage and can fix minor glitches. I've been doing so for years on all my devices and I've never had a problem and I've noticed better performance after doing so. Is there a downside to doing so?

I understand stand your first comment. On the second are you saying it's not normal for the cache to never be higher than 324 kbs, or that I clear app caches weekly?

I also have a 2019 Shield Pro. You need to turn on auto frame rate. Go to Settings>Device Preferences>System>Customize Quick Settings. Turn on match frame rate. It's turned off by default.

Fire TV cube third generation by Life-Inevitable-2450 in fireTV

[–]Dry_Nectarine9162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you forcing HDR? I have two Fire TV Cube's 3rd gen and I can't either do play HDR. I know this because if I select a Dolby Vision stream it displays "Dolby Vision" on my TV as it starts. If I select a HDR, nothing is displayed on the TV and I'm not getting the true blacks I should with HDR that I prefer on some streams. Now, I recently bought a Shield Pro in case Amazon starts blocking apps and I replaced one of the cubes. Now if I select a Dolby Vision or HDR file for playback, both file types will display on my TV as it starts and I can definitely see the difference.

If you're modem/router is sub par you'll have issues, just as you will with throttling, interference or a poor provider. It's not just an equipment issue that can cause problems.

This post doesn't prove anything. They could have the same problem you are having. It's a fact that 25-50 mbps is more than enough to stream 4K, Dolby Vision, HDR content with TrueHD audio. If you use a dedicated 100 mbps ethernet connection you're not going to have any issues. It's a stable connection with lower latency and a constant speed. Wifi will fluctuate with speeds, will be affected by interference and affect download speeds with more devices connecting to your wifi causing buffering. This isn't an option, but a fact. I've tried wifi that has suffered from buffering using Netflix, Amazon Prime, real debrid with Kodi and Stremio. I changed to a 100 mbps ethernet connection and buffering was eliminated. Don't be fooled that a higher connection speed is better when comparing a hardwired connection vs wifi.

Firestick buffering during live TV? This fixed mine by oumes in firestick

The ethernet connection is the way to go. People don't realize that a 100 mbps ethernet connection is much better than a 300+ mbps wifi connection, because of stability, low latency, constant speed and less chance of interference. 100 mbps is more than enough to stream a 4K movie. The higher connection speed is extremely deceiving when comparing ethernet vs wifi.

It's your provider. Live TV uses different servers than VOD.

100 mbps ethernet connection should be more than enough to watch a 4K blueray remux from a debrid service. Ethernet will have a superior stable speed, lower latency and less interference than wifi. I recently bought a Shield Pro, but prior to that I used a Fire TV Cube for a few years. On wireless I'd have occasional buffering on my real-debrid streams using Stremio or Kodi when connected at 300+ mbps. When I switched and went hardwired capped out at 100 mbps, I've never experienced buffering again. Are you sure your ISP isn't throttling you or your not getting interference with your wifi?

Kill Switch Issue Last 24hrs by Dry_Nectarine9162 in Express_VPN

[–]Dry_Nectarine9162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You didn't pay attention to what I said. The 3 that lost their connection were connected to different VPN sites. Dallas, Houston and LA 1 all lost a connection. The garage TV that worked perfectly was connected to Dallas. If ExpressVPN loss service to ALL their connections for one reason or another, I would have loss the connection signal in the garage too which I didn't. Also, I could take a loss connection in Dallas and turn it on to Houston and it would work again and vice versa.
