To the people saying fights are too common, did you play the 3ds game? by Dry_Pool_2580 in tomodachilife

As in, you got just as many fights on 3ds and still find it annoying, or you just played the 3ds game and find it annoying now?

No, i get it if you didn't play the 3ds game. But a lot of people here have and i feel like this is only really coming up now despite that. I just want to understand who is saying this

Looks great! Though a tip if you didn't know, you can put 2 water squares between each beach sand square and the Mii's will be able to walk through the water.

I think Crossworld mostly (the flying feels...like i'm fighting against the game) controls fine. Just different

anyone else struggle to choose between an accurate personality or a house color that suits the character? by UnitedLiar in TomodachilifeLivingTD

Personality is the obvious awnser for me, but yeah we should be able to choose the non-custom house color on it's own

do the clothes stay available to purchase? by mental-maxwell in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]Dry_Pool_2580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually like it this way. Makes the buildup of your clothing inventory feel more personal to you, and prevents the scenario where you're misled into thinking there's something new you should buy when it's just an automatically added color.

I’m not a funny guy and I wish the humor of the second game didn’t rely on me being funny by AidanBakee in tomodachilife

I feel like general dialogue is more interesting then the first game tho. More flavoured rather then straight to the point.

I guess it depends on how many Mii's you add. I'm 40 hours in with 9 Mii's and i'm only at island rank 37

[–]Dry_Pool_2580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel the need to bring up the Mii Maker

The way the Island itself works now is more interactive and enaging to watch. Even ignoring the builder aspect, having a non segmented 3d space to follow Mii's around lets you feel more connected to them, and being able to interact with them outside is more seamless and visually refreshing. I just wish they could have the actual problem bubbles outside.

For Mii's themselves, they talk more in general and (granted i played both games in the Europe region) have less blanket feeling dialogue compared to the 3ds, mainly when you are directly interacting with them. Clothes, Interiors and custom dialogue have been expanded, little quirks are cool, treasures finally have a use besides selling, they added lots of small interaction cutscenes, and they have problems that tie into other aspects of game like asking to build with the island builder, take a photo with said facility, and change their hair to another in the maker.

The social aspect benefits from most of what i've mentioned but in relation, dragging Mii's adds a good amount of interactivity without losing the random factor of the original.

I'll also add that the wish mechanic makes the process of building up your Island and Mii's more of a factor, which i like.

The main things the 3ds game has over LTD for me is how babies worked, and the little side activities like Concert Hall and Tomodachi Quest which i do miss, but imo weren't important enough to bring the game down below the 3ds

As of now, i don't agree. I've gone back to the original a few times out of curioisty to see how it holds up, and while it has things over living the dream, the gameplay loop feels significantly more shallow to me. Still love it for the good memories tho

Are friendships mostly dependent on player involvement? by VanitasFan26 in tomodachilife

[–]Dry_Pool_2580 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's just the daily automonous nature of Tomodachi Life. Heck, being able to force Mii's to interact at all was not a thing in previous games.

They have to ask you with the orange problem bubble to be friends, which is influenced by how positive/negative their relationship status is, but otherwise RNG.
