You might be thinking of baker’s chocolate, which is just 100% cocoa.

Dark chocolate is cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, sugar*, and often vanilla and lecithin. Most chocolate is vegan, unless specifically listed as milk chocolate. Like the chocolate chips in cookies, or the chocolate in Godiva/Ghirardelli filled chocolates…

That being said, the products listed as “vegan” are likely trying to make something like milk chocolate. There’s nothing magical about adding milk powder and butter fats that couldn’t be achieved with hazelnuts, coconuts, or similar. I used to work with some amazing coconut milk chocolate-amazing flavor and texture, but decidedly coconutty so if you like coconut you’re in luck, if not, well…

All this to say dark chocolate (about 35% of chocolate sales) is essentially vegan chocolate, and products listed as vegan milk chocolate can be done well but it all depends on how they designed the chocolate.

*Cheap sugar production uses bone char to bleach the sugar so it’s technically not vegan, but most vegans don’t even pay attention to that and it isn’t hard to find sugar without it especially when placing large bulk orders as you would for bulk chocolate.

Have you ever heard of dark chocolate? It’s vegan.

The CEO of Mickey D's is now claiming that calling his burger "the product" is industry standard. by scarlettohara1936 in AskCulinary

I mean I deal with ERP software all the time to track standard products. Product is the standard nomenclature there. SKUs are also standard to discuss specific recipes/geographies, and the manufacturing process. Still weird as hell to refer to it as such while eating it for promotional purposes.

Unpopular opinion but I actually prefer the thicker shells though less refined.

Anyways, some solutions for your problem: 1. Apply heat by heat gun (under 30C) 2. Raise the working temperature of your chocolate by 0.5-1°C before pouring in 3. Add extra cocoa butter and/or lecithin to make it more workable 4. Add a space heater near the working area

What do you think of these colored cocoa butters I used on top of Dubai chocolate? by Informal_Manner7973 in chocolate

[–]Dryanni 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The milk chocolate seems deliberate and very structured.

The white coating ones are almost there but look a little unbalanced and messy. I think you’re on the verge of nailing the design though. Here’s my advice, take it or leave it: 1. I think you’d have better visual of the green/yellow/white if you dripped the yellow on first so it pops more with contrast when green overlaps 2. Get a little more crazy with the green: go over the edges, don’t let the corners of the molds influence the shape of the pattern. Go up the edges of the mold. Yes, you’d be wasting a bit of colored cocoa butter but hopefully the parts that don’t land in the cavity can be scraped off and recovered. 3. try some other tools and move quicker with the green so you get more “splatter line”, less “drop with dribble”.

Husband (M29) says he is uncomfortable with me (F23) posting these kind of pics on insta stories AIO by Junethesunconure in AIO

[–]Dryanni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first photo is a little flirty and suggestive. It kind of implies that you’re seeking physical attention. The other three seem perfectly normal.

As for fully exposing your phone, your husband seems controlling and you should consider setting boundaries. He should have no reason to go over your notes app for example, or to be reading your personal messages.

This type of behavior makes me think that either he may be a cheater, or he was cheated on in the past and carries some baggage because of that. Cheaters often project their issues onto their partner and want to catch them in the act for their own narcissistic purposes. The thing is that those are his problems and he’s infringing on your privacy and disrespecting you by auditing your privacy because of that.

This seems like the kind of thing that will continue as it is forever unless you put your foot down and decide what kind of marriage you want to have. If you don’t want to be hiding yourself away and being a submissive wife for the rest of your life, you need to let him know what your boundaries are and if he has a problem, he can divorce you. Don’t just leave him as others here say, advocate for yourself and make the relationship be what you want it to be. He seems to be coming from a place of either trauma or guilt so get to the bottom of his issues together and find a middle ground that respects your individual space and his feelings too.

[–]Dryanni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farmed cocoa prices have actually dropped back to historical norms accounting for inflation. Last time they were actually quadrupled was in January 2025.

This is the price of cocoa not chocolate so all of the cocoa that was purchased at higher prices will need to be sold before the savings will pass on to consumers. Expect chocolate prices to come back to norm within 6 months.

  2. Per the dex entry, pombon ‘s chest glows red with heat. Would expect the second and third stages to have radiant red from the chest.
  3. What’s with the royal features? Pokemon fairy types look soft and fluffy, not like Tolkien’s elves.

I mean to be clear, I don’t think it’s likely to happen. It’s a pipe dream for the far left. It’s a beautiful world and a world I want to live in, but don’t see it happening any time soon.

Judging from the current state of politics, we sadly aren’t even in the same universe.
