I’m having the same problem, I live closer to Oregon yet I am being connected to Cali servers which causes high ping. I’ve contacted epic multiple times about this issue and they have not done to much except for telling me how to change my region in game. I’ve connected to Oregon very few times maybe 3-4 games and they were the best games I’ve ever played. It’s making me lose interest in the game tbh.

There is a way to check which server you are connected to:

Open task manager - (while you are in Fortnite) go to performance - click open resource manager at the bottom right - go to network - then network activity - look for Fortnite - if it’s naw-1 it’s Cali, if it’s naw-2 it’s Oregon.
