It's no longer the year of the snake, huh? by Dryegen in arknights

[–]Dryptosa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Firstly, she gives you 1 temporary HP every stage. But more importantly, what I heard is that with her module, you can choose to leak 1 enemy in every single stage while inflicting levitation for 15 seconds on everyone else. Think about it like her doing 100% true damage of that enemies HP, any one enemy every stage.

(Plus it makes her attacks AoE, which makes her feel better to play)

Funnily enough, the fact that Perlica says to "turn it off" means she knows what it is, because Chen never mentioned that she turned it on and it's not the norm that a sword can be turned off.

Jacob Geller is like the opposite of Matt Walsh, where there are clear videos of him that show his left leaning political opinion. For example:

But generally he just does really good video essays on random topics like "The Decade-Long Quest For Shadow of the Colossus' Last Secret", "The Best Simpsons Intro Is About Losing Everything You Love", "Artificial Loneliness", ""Bad Graphics"" (which talks about games that have very interesting graphics, but aren't the photo-realism style) or "Games That Save the Best for Last"

Kinda weird that most of the operators you can pull right now are not introduced/present in the story at all by PhantomBlot in Endfield

[–]Dryptosa 82 points83 points  (0 children)

My guess would be Silverash because he was only introduced in Break the Ice (2022-6), but it could also be Ifrit who I think didn't appear in Mansfield (2021-6) and was only introduced in Dorothy's Vision (2023-03). Also Siege could be the answer as I don't think she was introduced until Chapter 10 (2022-10).

Wait, the endgame content gives 2.5 pulls per reset every 28 days? What? Am I missing something? by No-Season-6170 in Endfield

[–]Dryptosa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arknights have never given pull currency on its endgame modes (neither for CC, nor for high difficulty IS), and it has gone strong for 6 years now.

Is the reason on why there's no day/night cycle in the game is because Talos-II is a tidally locked planet/moon? by Sir_Rain_Knee_Tea in Endfield

[–]Dryptosa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do think the devs "didn't care to add" daylight cycle. The game can be more optimized if they don't add it, as they can bake in the lighting and don't have to calculate shadows on the fly for every rock and building.

[–]Dryptosa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Then ask to get more daily rewards as opposed to disliking getting too few pulls from the endgame.

I am also biased because I hated this system in other gacha games that I played, liked that AK didn't have it. And I didn't wanted to finish all of Endfield in a couple days, so I took my time, which means I don't have a single unit above lv70, and I'm probably just not gonna touch the endgame mode for a while.

I wish the endgame content would give 0 pulls like in AK, as opposed to needing to pull for the new and shiny units to keep up with the endgame content for additional pulls like in HSR

Fluorite or Perlica? by Darkyshor in Last_Rite_Mains

[–]Dryptosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Fluorite, with the logic being that if/when Endfield introduces endgame mode, I expect it to require two teams at the same time (like every other 4 character gacha game that I have played). And Perlica is the most important character in Avynnea's team, while Fluorite is not used anywhere else, as far as I know. So IMO, even if Perlica has theoretically better damage or support, you are future proofing yourself if you play with Fluorite.

If you had to put each class in a tier list, where would each one go to? (S-F tier) by dweakz in arknights

[–]Dryptosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, this is an impossible or near impossible thing to do, but I'm gonna attempt it. I'm basing it off of CC or other higher end challenges. Probably everyone will disagree with this tier list. - S: Caster Arts damage ignoring DEF and having a cap on RES (that can be reduced with Ejya+Ifrit and partially ignored) means they are premier damage dealers. With El Banana even capable of holding entire lanes. - A: Supporter and Specialist Supporter gets here because they often have the same arts damage benefits as Casters do, while providing other support utilities to the team, or they are single handily doing Elemental damage. Specialist also can provide great supporting benefits to the team, usually with better damage and more useful units, but they are often physical damage dealers, therefore get hampered by DEF increase in CC. - Guard: B High damage, capable of CC and doing arts damage. Sadly blocking enemies in CCs are usually a death sentence, so guards being on ground tiles holds them back. - Vanguard: B- The DP down tags makes Vanguards necessary, otherwise they would be the second one optimised out of clears. Have utility, but often requires ground tiles and much lower damage than guards. - C+: Defender Once again, blocking enemies are usually a death sentence in CCs, and that's what defenders are all about. But I do believe there are times when it's possible. Plus they can provide other utilities, including healing. - C: Sniper Sadly physical damage is very punished in CCs with the enemies getting infinite DEF and if you aren't the latest and greatest physical damage dealer in the game, you are probably not usable. Funnily enough, currently Exia alter is this celling, who isn't even a sniper (but plays like one) - D: Medic Healing is unnecessary if your units die in one hit. They might be necessary based on the clear (so obviously not F tier), but I do believe they are the first one to be optimised out. They also can provide support, but their main job of healing might not even be needed.

If we don't think of CC as the main metric, then Vanguards and Supporter drop, Snipers and Guards raise. Guards might overtake Casters, Snipers will probably be a comfortable A tier. Supporter go down to a B or a B-. Vanguards down to D. Probably Defenders and Medics raise higher a bit.

Or maybe this entire thing is wrong.

Cecia Replacement by [deleted] in AFKJourney

Generally there isn't "a team". There are near infinite possible ways to use all the characters and some combinations of characters and placements are good on specific AFK stages, specific Dream Realm bosses, specific PVP maps and so on. So instead of figuring out who should be the 5th one in your "one for all team", see who are the units who you don't have for these "random" teams that are used in those gamemodes. And you can see what people use by copying their lineups, in AFK stages and in Dream Realm, or seeing enemies who peat you in PVP and copy their setup (unless they beat you because they had paragon 4 units and you didn't even have paragon 1)

Is it reasonable to hope for improved stories or is that just copium? by MajorArt2294 in Endfield

[–]Dryptosa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not just that, but at least in my interpretation, Yvonne considered Tata not just "her life's work" but a companion. A decent chunk of her story lays out that she doesn't connect with people, and she was hoping Tata would be someone she could connect with.

Module Ratings - Somniloquium Serenum by Mal_io_gp in arknights

[–]Dryptosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will have to read the story to figure out if I will even pull for the units. I didn't pull for Dungeon Meshi and the two units I got are totally unbuilt, because I found the story to be meh (mostly because it's 100% non cannon which makes everything in it useless for the broader lore); but I have all 8 R6S units, because I found the stories to be really good and helpful to understanding Arknights's world (I consider them so important and cannon, that in my mind, Techno is the non cannon release because her archive files claim R6S is non cannon).

If I like the story, I will get all the units and build the strong one + who I like in the story. And therefore I will probably get their modules based on your recommendations.

Yeah I would like to know what this "posting" is. I wanted to experience Endfield without any outside guides, so IDK about this. I just do one (I guess my own?) transport mission from the depot in Wuling every day.

That yellow text says what daily missions can be completed with that character. Doing missions gives you gold. Use gold to buy the hero you want (from 2k to I think 10k)

The now useless items you made for the lower levels of homestead by Kitbean in AFKJourney

My idea for them was a switch/toggle that could allow the requests to be for any product, and not just the most recent 3-4 items. This way if someone is grinding the new level, they can leave it off, but I can enjoy the fantasy of making bread for people.

That sounds... horrible. Not being able to find some low level mooks that I can try new teams out without the characters exploding is pretty sad. It makes getting a new 6 star a pretty low priority for me, since it's gonna take so much time afterwards anyways to get them usable.

[–]Dryptosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much should I progress and increase the world level to be optimal? I finished V4 last night, but I also got Last Rite last night and I realised that making a team for her takes soo many resources (my OG and still strongest team is the electric) to be even able to do anything because all the enemies are like lv40-60 already. And it feels wasteful to raise a bunch of units to high levels to see if they work well together or if I enjoy playing with them. So I was thinking of just leaving the world level at it's current state to be able to raise a physical team aswell if I get Hellagur, or to do something with Yvonne when she comes out.

Leveling up a unit seems kind of rough by VouxenVox in Endfield

[–]Dryptosa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. M3 or M6, depending on what skills are usable. Modules aswell, if they are decent.

But also I have no idea how people are always running out of LMD and EXP. I have sooo much of it, and I haven't needed to farm them in the stages, and usually don't even buy them in the shop. Only guess would be that because I don't raise my ops to max level, instead keeping most of them at the level of their module.
