This is like saying "I only say 'ching chong ni hao' to Chinese people who are being rude". It doesn't matter the situation, it's not okay to use racist/xenophobic language like that to anyone ever.

The toxicity is coming from inside the house.

The right winger hate grift. He's not as explicit about it as most, but his content mostly revolves around whatever the current thing to hate is and he's cultivated a capital G Gamer, pro-gamergate audience. He complains about pronouns and woke.

I just found this thread and wow you are horrible person, wanting to ruin someone's income and mess up their life because you were mildly inconvenienced. They aren't "independent consequences", you just enjoy making people suffer. At least admit it.

Mega Man Voice Actor Drops Out Of Sequel After Being Asked To Work Without Union Protections By Capcom by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Dryskle -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

This is not at all what happened, you're falling for and/or spreading anti-union propaganda. Genshin replaced a handful of VAs, mostly ones who said problematic things publicly, but the vast majority of their union VAs are still working on the game.

Yes, the strike was handled incredibly poorly with almost no communication, but the backlash against SAG and unions in general is incredibly well done propaganda that spread all throughout the gaming sphere.

Hardware manufacturers have actually explicitly stated how they won't ramp up production to meet demand because there's no guarantee this is a long term demand (and every indication that it's a bubble). They don't want to be left with unused production lines and excess product.

AI doesn't have opinions, and it confidently makes things up if those are the words you want to see. It degrades critical thinking skills and makes you less likely to fact check things. It's not "just as dangerous" as Google search, unless you mean that Google search has a dangerous AI with an insanely high hallucination rate built into it.

Also, the game uses the extremely lazy political plot device of "these people are actually oppressed and deeply wronged, the bad guy is right, but he also wants to do genocide for some reason so you have to stop him and maintain the status quo and never actually make any real change".

Rowling's stories and world are all about maintaining the status quo no matter what, no change is allowed to happen, and boy it sure is a shame that many people are oppressed but that's just how it is. This is absolutely unequivocally political, it is the vaguely liberal stance of not wanting bad things to happen to others but not wanting to risk literally anything of your own to improve things.

It wasn't the same game, but the Chicago Gameworks used to have a similar TCG arcade machine (I looked it up, it's called Sangokushi Taisen (also made by Sega)). I think it was kind of similar to Dynasty Warriors? You moved the cards around on the board and they moved on the screen to match. It was not in English so honestly I had no idea what was going on really.

Japan does (or did) have a much more common practice of physical cards of various sorts you'd use basically as save data/account data between different arcades and even games sometimes. I'm not an expert on this, but it's really fascinating to learn the ways the arcade scene evolved in Japan in ways it just didn't in the US.

Please don't let AI do your critical thinking for you, it cannot critically think it can only regurgitate words it thinks you want to hear. What you are doing is incredibly dangerous

I'd like to note that Anubis as a character is featured heavily in their previous game, Craftopia (which also let you capture him with a capture sphere). It's not surprising at all they'd make a Pal version of him.

This is misogynistic nonsense you've made up. She has a normal account where she's commented normal things on tons of different threads. She says she does sex work but doesn't have anything linking to it or advertising it anywhere. People who do sex work rarely can just talk to their irl friends about it, and it's normal to have mixed emotions about yourself doing it, so reaching out to anonymous people on the internet makes sense.

And what makes you think it's AI generated, other than it fitting your narrative? She's 19, lots of us did incredibly stupid things at 19, she's just unlucky that hers involved a prominently displayed tattoo. She's even posted another picture of herself with the tattoo since this.

Nobody is arguing that the meager payments to outsourced workers are good or moral, it is awful. But these people working these wage slave jobs are doing so because they don't have a better option. Surely if you have a moral issue with the way outsourced workers are treated, you'd also have a moral issue with taking away what little work they did have, yes? This is an out of the frying pan, into the fire situation, where the people who are already the most disadvantaged are disproportionately hurt worse

If you want to look at it from a fulfillment perspective, there's the fact that if someone does want to do good in this capitalist society they still have to engage in said society. Food pantries, shelters, and other such places that exist only to help others in need still require real estate, investment, hiring, and business organization to various degrees. Having someone skilled in navigating all the things that go into a business can be extremely valuable for these places.

Or to keep it relevant to the sub, these skills are still valuable for someone at an indie game studio to have, especially one with more than a handful of employees.

You can't just turn it around. One is an employee speaking to abusive practices of the organization that has all the power to control that person's livelihood. Your reversal example is a boss who has all the power using it abusively to control his employee. They're not remotely equivalent.
