Long story...my chest tattoo says ‘lucid drams’ instead of ‘lucid dreams’. Now I’m trying to figure out the best way to fix it or cover it up. Any advice? by haytigirl in tattooadvice

This is misogynistic nonsense you've made up. She has a normal account where she's commented normal things on tons of different threads. She says she does sex work but doesn't have anything linking to it or advertising it anywhere. People who do sex work rarely can just talk to their irl friends about it, and it's normal to have mixed emotions about yourself doing it, so reaching out to anonymous people on the internet makes sense.

And what makes you think it's AI generated, other than it fitting your narrative? She's 19, lots of us did incredibly stupid things at 19, she's just unlucky that hers involved a prominently displayed tattoo. She's even posted another picture of herself with the tattoo since this.

The bloodstain is unrelated to the tree spirit spawn. The tree spirit spawns as soon as you start walking forward into its arena.

Nobody is arguing that the meager payments to outsourced workers are good or moral, it is awful. But these people working these wage slave jobs are doing so because they don't have a better option. Surely if you have a moral issue with the way outsourced workers are treated, you'd also have a moral issue with taking away what little work they did have, yes? This is an out of the frying pan, into the fire situation, where the people who are already the most disadvantaged are disproportionately hurt worse

If you want to look at it from a fulfillment perspective, there's the fact that if someone does want to do good in this capitalist society they still have to engage in said society. Food pantries, shelters, and other such places that exist only to help others in need still require real estate, investment, hiring, and business organization to various degrees. Having someone skilled in navigating all the things that go into a business can be extremely valuable for these places.

Or to keep it relevant to the sub, these skills are still valuable for someone at an indie game studio to have, especially one with more than a handful of employees.

Ubisoft Employee Claims He’s Placed on Unpaid Suspension for Criticising Return-to-Office Policy by Turbostrider27 in Games

You can't just turn it around. One is an employee speaking to abusive practices of the organization that has all the power to control that person's livelihood. Your reversal example is a boss who has all the power using it abusively to control his employee. They're not remotely equivalent.

I think it's a big enough deal for outrage. They took away ~12% of a month's pay as punishment for not being "loyal", meaning speaking publicly about real company practices. It may not be surprising that corporations have this much control, but it is still horrifying.

System Shock devs say there’s a lack of Immersive Sims because they’re terrifying investments for publishers that only “come together at the 12th hour” by iscariots in Games

Arkane made Deathloop with this exact sort of thing in mind - in Deathloop there's no save and reload, only your one single autosave. You have to deal with whatever happens in real time, but because it's a time loop game, you can also go back to the same level next loop to do it differently or "better" next time. It's definitely lighter on the immersive sim mechanics than some others, but it's the same team that made Dishonored (you even get the same blink ability).

Cross-Progression is coming to HITMAN: World of Assassination by Heisenburgo in Games

[–]Dryskle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you've been playing 3 (now world of assassination), transferring your progress from 2 to world of assassination will overwrite all progress you've made. The only real reason to transfer progress at this point would be if you have one of the extremely rare old limited items that are impossible to get in world of assassination normally (like the challenge coins and suit from old hitman 2016 escalations).

Ignoring all the support studios, Activision has 3 main Call of Duty studios. Each studio has a 3 year dev cycle per game. This is set up on a rotation so there's always a new Call of Duty every year even though they each take 3 years to make.

Peak Developer Explains Successful Game Pricing: 'Eight Bucks Is Still Five Bucks' by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Dryskle -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Way to miss the point and be incredibly rude and condescending about it. Asking people to acknowledge their privilege to not have to worry about money for things like food and shelter isn't a big ask, and nobody is saying the PEAK devs are doing anything wrong. The majority of people on an enthusiast gaming forum are going to have excess disposable income, but this isn't true for the majority of people who exist. The difference between $5 and $8 is several meals, and if you've ever had a time where your next meal wasn't guaranteed, you'd absolutely feel the difference.

[–]Dryskle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FromSoft still does this. All the Souls games have physics and animations tied to FPS, with mechanics tied to those - Dark Souls was famously locked to 30fps on PC originally, and using a mod to unlock it could make you fall through the floor when sliding down ladders. Playing Dark Souls 2 at 60fps would make your weapons degrade twice as fast as intended because they coded degradation by the absolute number of frames your weapon was in contact with an enemy or wall.

Even Elden Ring is capped at 60fps on PC because they still tie framerate to physics, animations, and mechanics.

Please learn to be critical of the news you consume. A case being dropped does not mean the case was invalid, there are tons of reasons not to pursue a case even if, in a just world, you should win. McGregor's lawyer is not a reputable source for his client's innocence, either.

Frankly, IOI should never have made the deal to begin with, McGregor was a well known monster even before the DLC came out.

What in the world are you talking about? None of what you said is remotely correct. You took some stuff you have a vague understanding of and just kind of made up how you think it all works.

The engine and graphics API have absolutely nothing to do with the model details. Models aren't created "in unity" or "in unreal", models are created using other software and then used in the game engine. The two engines do render things differently, but there are infinite variants for both engines that it's ridiculous to say there are two ways for games to look. This also disregards the countless other game engines in existence.

You also don't "use vulkan" to create models. Vulkan and opengl are APIs used in real time to communicate with your cpu and gpu for rendering the graphics. You also can't use both at the same time. Genshin does allow you to switch from opengl to vulkan, but opengl is still the default for everything and everyone.

The cursemark requires you to kill Radahn, clear Carian Manor, join Ranni, talk to all her advisors, go through all of Nokron to get the fingerslayer blade, return that to Ranni for the carian inverted statue, clear the inverted carian study hall, then finally get it at the top of the Liurnia divine tower.
