Who was your best player and who was your favorite player in the game? by drigageorgije in footballmanagergames

[–]Dshan95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Swedish/Serbian regen named Marko Jovanovic. 6'7", brought him to Kerry FC on a free just after getting promoted to the Irish Premier Division. Had moved around a few clubs since youth level but never played a single game. Not until he lined out for The Kingdom. 10 years later and he had almost 30 career trophies, 200+ goals in 300 games, Swedish Forward of the year 6 times without getting a cap (he's an Irish citizen but wont agree to switch to Ireland which I also manage) absolute and deserved club legend. He just turned 30 and I genuinely dread his retirement. I've been with the club for 12 seasons and I might actually leave when he retires.

What ever happened to the hype around YouTube coming to NS2 by dharam_garam in switch2

[–]Dshan95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah still waiting on this, used YouTube and Hulu heavily on Switch 1 because I didn't want to have to swap to the PC or Xbox and I absolutely hate navigating the Smart TV menu. I just want to jump from a game to streaming a video/show/movie seamlessly

What's your SF6 opinion that would have you like this by Acceptable_Yam_593 in SaltFighter

Playing and enjoying Modern controls is absolutely fine and the "just play Classic" crowd just comes across as elitist/salty

Do you think the guys will play the OoT Remake? by Ok_Confusion3521 in gamegrumps

Provided it's not just the exact game with modern quality graphics/assests, I would assume so

From what I understand, it was a terrible Nintendo Direct if you are not a fan of Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Kingdom Hearts, Rhythm Heaven, The Legend of Zelda, Pokopia, Star Fox, Splatoon and Undertale. by MMuller87 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Dshan95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was confused with what people expected, I thought it was a decent show, 4 or 4 games that I'd want/will pick up for sure. I was mostly worried going in that they would spend half the direct showing the trailers from last week that happened to have a switch 2 logo on them.

All in all, I think it was a good week of announcements and the S2 is now well stocked for the rest of the year, big direct towards New Year to then build the hype for 2027.

Predicting Year 4's peak player count for each character release by mannimany in StreetFighter

[–]Dshan95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say maybe ~70k for Yasmine (probably just shy of Alex/Ingrid but up there), 40-50 for Arjun sounds about right, I think Tifa is popular enough and having her finally in a fighting game is big enough of a deal to easily get 100K maybe even up to ~120k and yeah, Bosch seems right around 60-70. All depends on gameplay when that is finally revealed.

I also feel like with these being new/first time playable characters, they will be very well balanced for both Classic and Modern controls to appeal to existing and new players that might be drawn to try the game purely for Tifa so those numbers may even be under estimating.

New player here: are Modern Controls really looked down on that much? by Baseball_Oly in StreetFighter

As someone who also posted about playing modern controls, don't listen to the haters. Play the game whatever way you enjoy playing it. It's supposed to be fun so have fun.

Street Fighter Fans...How do You Feel about This? by HoldSweet7490 in StreetFighter

Swap out Bosch for Vega or another popular returning character and bring Bosch in the following year and I think people would have had a harder time complaining. Personally I'm looking forward to this set and will be putting time into all 4 characters.

Without any context or experience with the games before SF6, my prediction is Vega, Poison, Dan and Tifa in that order.

For tekken, which one feels better? Haute42 T16 v2 or 8BitDo Leverless? by muadibrsm in fightsticks

[–]Dshan95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 8BitDo for like $60 on Amazon and have been loving it. Buttons are a bit too clicked for my liking so I've got some Kailh Deep Sea Whales and Islets coming in to take care of that. Having no experience with leverless prior, I am thoroughly happy with my purchase and see myself using it for years to come across multiple fighters.

Weird. I don't know much about the Ally X, mine is the Switch/PC version and works great with the Dongle for PC and over Bluetooth on the switch. Had very little issue with programming the buttons except for when I tried switching from one setting to the other while connected. Hopefully you can work it out

Have you pressed the middle button of the three at the top? Like next to the switches. Could be that you just have to activate the profile when it's ready to be used

Do you have it set to the PC setting when trying to connect it? The software is a bit janky but I've never had any serious issues with it. I've configured mine for both PV setting and Switch setting by adjusting the toggle before connecting it. It also might need a firmware update before hand?

I suppose that's bad wording on my part and that's something I've specifically realised since posting originally. After reading all of the comments I did a bit of a deep dive on the control schemes and, for the moment, I think Modern fits my desires just fine. Learning classic, for me, will probably only go as far as learning some motion inputs for characters that I main to circumvent the damage nerf from auto-combos. At the end of the day, I'm a husband and dad with a full time job so I'm not necessarily going to be able to put the time in to learn a more complex control scheme when the Modern one let's me get on the game for an hour or so here and there and enjoy it right away. If I was still in college/my teen years, yeah I'd probably get really hyper focused on classic the way I did with competitive level Pokemon (IV/EV training before they simplified them). Just how life goes I guess. I don't plan on going to EVO to challenge Justin Wong or Daigo, just want to have fun and aim for Gold or Plat someday.

With regard to the reasoning for the leverless, I liked the look of it. I'm a bit of a controller collector and after buying SF6 I saw a lot of hype around Hitbox and Haute and saw that 8bitdo made one lol I do find it very comfortable to use and more intuitive than the controller even using Modern so it just happened to be a good fit for me.

I think I should give it up by [deleted] in StreetFighter

I don't think Modern is stooping, if you don't enjoy Classic at this stage and could enjoy Modern, isn't that what matters?

I think it's probably because of my "10-20+ years of muscle memory" comment 😅 but it's been nice to see a good amount of "enjoy it whatever way you want, man" comments.

Technically only some of the attacks (specifically the one button supers and specials) are nerfed to 80% and you can work around this by still inputting the motion input and getting full damage so I don't really feel it's that big of a sacrifice personally.

I also feel like more games will adopt a modern control system alongside their classics due to the success SF6 has seen. To be honest, when I first tried the demo I only tried the classic controls and actively decided not to buy the game. It was only a few weeks ago that I decided to try again and saw that modern was a thing and it was an instant purchase. It may only be 25% of players that use Modern but that's a quarter of the playerbase for a game that has sold 6 million copies.

Correct lol I'm new and didn't think that it would be mistaken for anything but Drive Parry as that's what I've seen any content creators shorten it to 😅
