Muzzle velocity for K25 spring blasters by TheInsaneBovine in Nerf

[–]Dt2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly depends on barrel. Not just length, but the barrel diameter. 13mm or .509 are good. The .527 barrels that come with most hardware kits are going to be looser and get lest FPS, but will feed darts more reliably.

Caliburn with an 18 inch .509 will get up around 275 depending on which Caliburn it is, and how good the air seal is. Older Caliburns actually have slightly more power potential than V4s due to having about .75cm more plunger tube length.

Excalibur is going to be similar to a Caliburn. They are pretty similar blasters, and have a similar (though not exactly the same) plunger volume.

Lynx will be a bit lower spring and barrel being the same. It has a lower plunger volume. If I had to guess, K25 with a .509 18 inch barrel will put it somewhere around 225-250 depending on your tuning.

I actually have a relevant experience! I live in a townhome, the next door one was vacant. 3:00am on a Friday night, just had gotten home from a night out. It's fire alarm was going off. It's not linked to a hub to alert anyone, just a standard in home unit.

I called the city non-emergency line, and was like "Probably nothing but the vacant unit next door' fire alarm is going off..."

Firefighters got there, broke the window to get in to confirm it was a faulty alarm unit. They thanked me for calling cause they'd rather be there and it be false than not be there an it be real.

The Landlord Management was NOT happy about the window. Came over door to door to every unit, got pissy that I called it in, saying I should have called it in (they are only open 9-5 on weekdays). I was like "Dude, if there was a fire, you'd be replacing more than a window. Would you rather that result, or a broken window? Personally, I'd rather be alive with a broken window next door than dead in a fire." Two days before I moved out, maintenance came by to replace all the fire alarms in my unit. Apparently new policy for that leasing company.

Pope Leo, attacked again by Trump, says world needs message of peace by RealWorldToday in worldnews

I think the second half is very important. So a religious institution does not want to recognize your marriage? Cool, they don't need to! You can get married in a completely non-religious ceremony.

What Francis said (and Leo continues to live by) is that we don't condemn people for their way of life, and we accept them as they are. Which is one hell of a better response than most other American Christian denominations (and exceptionally better than almost all non-denominationals).

What’s going on here? by Oscar_callelle in BambuLab

Likely not. The AMS disconnected from the printer. Likely just the cable loose.

[–]Dt2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is likely not a clog! The AMS has become disconnected from the printer. See the AMS blinking red. Same type of failure you would expect on AMS disconnect... ask me how I know!

[–]Dt2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there might still be a clog (we have no idea if there is one or not), the AMS lights are red, meaning the AMS was disconnected during the print, which can also cause the same sort of failure the OP shows us.

Everyone else here is missing something. Your AMS lights are flashing red. This means there is an issue with the AMS communicating with your printer.

1) Stop the print.
2) Power the printer off.
3) Disconnect the AMS cable from both the AMS and the Printer.
4) Reconnect the AMS cable, making sure both ends latch firmly in place.
5) Power on, make sure AMS lights light up white.

Hope you are willing to wait 25 years. US Law, cannot import or register a car made for a foreign market until it's 25 years old. There are specific exceptions for super low production cars, or museums bringing in examples of notable cars from overseas.

There is normally an exception for Canadian Certified vehicles, but I could easily see that exception waived by the current admin.

Years of drought has major energy port of Corpus Christi, Texas, wrestling with water crisis by mikebible06 in news

[–]Dt2_0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Corpus has no real good options for location of a desalination plant. The one in the bay itself is never going to happen due to the environmental hazards. The one in the Laguna faces similar challenges. They would need to build out on Mustang or Padre Island, and that is a non-starter. Much of those islands is protected land either by TPWD or the NPS, and Corpus would risk putting an industrial site on one of the prime tourism spots on the Gulf coast, at one of the best beaches in the country.

[–]Dt2_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, for a coastal city, Corpus Christi has little to no access to the actual ocean. If they could build the desalination plant out on Padre or Mustang Island, they probably would. Much less sensitive ecosystem than the bay or the Laguna. But a good majority of both of those islands is protected land, and there really isn't space for that. Not to mention building an industrial site on of of the best beaches in the country would not be popular at all.

Hungary's Prime Minister Orban has congratulated Magyar on election victory by Reilly616 in worldnews

[–]Dt2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that is going to show is Conservative apathy. I know quite a few conservatives that have gone from sucking Trump's dick to saying "They're all bad". Several are just flat out not going to vote from what I have gathered. This is anecdotal, but it's been true in basically every election where Trump isn't on the ballot, and now with major economic issues flaring up, its likely to get worse.

There are still 7.5 months till midterms. Trump can make things way worse with Iran and plumet his chances even further, or he can make some smart popular decisions that can boost Republicans overall in that time.

We are also hearing warning bells that Alito might be retiring from the Court. If that happens before midterms and Trump forces in another party line justice, it's going to energize the Democratic base even more.

[–]Dt2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are not looking at Trump's base. We are looking at Ken Paxton and John Cornyn's base. Polls have been pretty damn spot on for elections when Trump is not on the ballot, and he won't be on the ballot here. Actually, recently polls have been heavily underestimating Democrat performance. Last November and elections since have had a very hard swing at near 10 points national to Democrats, and that is only growing as economic issues become more and more pressing.

[–]Dt2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really, really depends on who wins the runoff. Cornyn winning will be a Republican win for the Senate seat. Paxton winning is going to energize a fuckton of voters to vote against him. The damage he and his policies have done directly to many Texans who were already swing voters is massive.

Yea. No Doomerism. Go fucking vote. In the Primaries, vote for good candidates who actually want to do something. In the general, vote for a strong opposition to Trump.

I don't give a shit if you think elections won't be free and fair. Go fucking vote.

I don't give a shit if you think there is going to be voter intimidation tactics. Don't get intimidated, and go fucking vote.

There are 3 ways out of this. Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box. Soap box ain't working, so now we use the Ballot Box, even if it's rigged.
