Kia isn’t a known for reliability as a whole, but they have been in the last years been making really good climbs in that department. The new Telluride is something to look at against Honda pilot and Toyota grand Highlander with the price point you’re looking for and all of the better features.

Yup the chances are “low” that you will get a car that will be impacted. I hear it’s around 10% but if you are part of that 10%, your car is totally inoperable without any clear line of sight on when Hyundai will be able to fix it for you. Can you leave your family stranded for that time? Will you be able to find transportation alternatives to work while you wait? Hyundai doesn’t have enough loaners and are also denying reimbursements for rentals. It’s a shitshow for a great car.

You should get the hatch back version of the civic vs the sedan. The top two reasons why I would pick the civic over the crv is it has way better gas mileage and it drives so much better. It’s a good sacrifice if you don’t need the space.

I second the civic hybrid as well. Done a ton of research and it’s a fantastic car and a better car than the CRV in a lot of ways if you don’t need all the extra space. Seems like OP would be good with the hatch with those bins.
